Thanks very much, your comment is really appreciated, I'm sorry I did not reply earlier, I'm finding it difficult to get the time to log in at the moment.
Thanks, much appreciated, the songs I pick always seem to have been sung by exquisite voices originally, so to even get half way to Rufus would be a result!
Hi, sorry for not replying I must have missed it at the time. I will send you a message with the chords I used. I learnt it by ear and as has been pointed out in the comments, I have simplified the chords somewhat.
Rufus has one of the best voices around (in my opinion) and it is perhaps a silly thing to try and cover him - You are completely right, but your cover is amazing and your voice is way too good, so keep it up.
Thanks, as you may have read, you are not the first to mention the tempo! I'm glad you liked it anyway. It really didn't feel slow when I was playing it :-)
You know I hadn't really noticed that. I always think of this song as being really melancholy and this just seemed the right pace for the way I was playing it. Thanks for the comment.
:~} I know, the original is much more complex and to be fair I just picked this up by ear, I've never seen a tab for it and this is how it sounded best to me. I have played it with a Gmaj7 instead of G at times. My intention was to keep it simple without dumbing it down too much and let the vocal line lead it......also I'm crap at naming chords, I just put my fingers where it sounds right to me......perhaps I went too far?
No problem: I have transposed it down a semi-tone to make it easier to play on the guitar (should be in Bbm/Db) basically it goes something like this: Verse: Am D G C Am7 B7 Em (X2) Chorus: Am Em Am Em Am F# B7 The long I've got a life to live is Am first time round the it falls in to the long outro part which is G Dm E F B E (first time then) G Dm E F F# B7 and Em to finish. This is all my own interpretation, so I'm not sure how correct it really is.
WONDERFUL!!

Well done!
I'm having a hard time trying to play in the original key... That Gm7b5 is a pain to play since I'm not really a guitarist (yet).
What have you done of those Maj7 chords??? That's blasphemy ;)

Well, the vocal line is very good, I guess I'm just too picky about how the instruments are played! ;)

Well Done! Could you help me with the chords?
Cheers!
