  • that is a freaking awesome ride.

  • I had a deuce coupe back in the fifties also. We chopped the top and fit a 331 Hemi in it. Geez those were just great days back then. Our favorite places back then were bone yards, they were like candy shops to us. Back then they let you pull your own parts. Now days every things numbered and computerized. Love the Blue dots, how fifties were those. Lol Blue dots and fuzzy dice! Love it.

  • how dare they put a smart car commercial on this

  • Thats how ya buid it if ya want it pretty..Nice job man

  • A pleasure ! .... (from Seattle)

  • this car is BAD!

  • beautiful 5 window !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like the second coming of the duece coupe the chevy nova also known as chevy II !!

  • Never knew much about these cars but it looks great, and damn theres some knowledgable people on here who know their shit, I could listen to you guys talk all day, no kiddin.

  • Actually, I do know what you have. You have a little deuce coupe with a competition clutch.

  • GREAT SOUND! GREAT PIX! glad to finally find the right sound with the right graphics. thanx!

  • Rings my bells!

  • i'm not a brian afficianato like u r,enjoy

  • awesome looking car. he did a fabulous job

  • WHAT A T-E-R-R-I-F-I-C TRACK HERE! TOM D. BRICK,NJ. {AT THE SHORE}.

  • What are those tail lights from?

  • @hakalakalaka1 I'm no mechanic but I'm pretty sure that the tail lights are Blue Dots. Blue Dots, when seen from enough of a distance, actually appear kind of purple. they're pretty cool but I also think they are illegal. If I'm wrong on any of this, please feel free to correct me

  • Wish they still made cars like that...

  • I love the style of this car. Lots of original features with mix of modern. Has to be an absolute blast to drive.

  • beautiful hot rod...thanx so much for shareing

  • I use to run Flathead Ford V8's back in high school ... back in the days when everybody ran small block Chevy's .... I didn't win a whole lot of races, but the ones I did were awesome ! ... I ran a 3/8 x 3/8 and the sound was one of a kind .... anyway, the Flathead in this video was the motor I would dream of .... Thank you for sharing it with us !!

  • Gorgeous car, love the whitewalls and that super clean engine.

  • by the way i saw that blower on that flathead!!!...bet she really moves!...later

  • INCREDIBAL CAR!!! you must be rich...or not any more...lol I love the car and the song...thanks,great post!

  • Beautiful car! It's a work of art! Nice job

  • Oh yeah - sing it and stand on it!!!

  • Oh yeah - sing it and stand on it!!!

  • 2 people don't know what you got hahaha and thats a fact!

  • Judging by fattony252's comments, he probably doesn't even own a car. Anyone who had the dough to buy a B.M.W. would probably have a least a bit of smarts. Sounds like some kid who saw one in a car rag and thought it was cool. Let him be. If he DOES own one, given the chance to drive any potent Hot Rod, he would probably sell the Krautmobile and get a 'Rod. Same w/Crotch rocketeers. Let 'em ride a potent Pan or Shovel and they will ditch the Jap- Scrap and get real. Seen it happen.

  • Flatheads have valve covers. They are just on the side(s).

  • Fattony252: B.M.W's are fine autos. Maybe you could beat it. The point is, "Who cares"? Park the two side by side and the '32 will draw the crowd. I am of German heritage, even lived at Giebelstadt Airbase in '75 (where Hitler and his model airplane club messed around w/jet and rocket aircraft during WWII) but I wouldn't give the "Beemer" a second glance next to ANY American Iron Rod(s). No disrespect towards you. You do a good enough job on yer own. internationaldave@gmail.com

  • Kool Flattie story: I was riding my bicycle through Santa Rosa Valley (Ca.) one cold night on my way back to 1000 Oaks from Camarillo. Pitch black out. I kept hearing this VERY loud uncorked engine for miles. W.F.O! (full throttle) I finally passed it in the night. Never saw it. (dark, remember?) Went by during the day to check it out. It was a Ford (Merc?) flat 8 up on an orchard wind machine. I climbed up to check it out. No muffs. This was about '72. Dissapeared a few years later. Kool?

  • SIVVYBEE: The flat-8 was not the best engine made, but it is far from a boat anchor. Sure, running the exhaust through the block was about the stupidest thing Henry and Edsel did, but it worked. Sort of... Just maintain the cooling system. (notice I said "IS" not "was")

  • To 09mazdaspeed3: Nice showing interest in vintage iron, but have someone check your spelling before you post comments. Makes you look like some Jap car lover who needs help. I'll help...sell Mazda and buy American Iron. Cheaper in the long run. LOTS more fun than any Jap car. Chicks will flock to any American Ride/Hot-Rod over Jap Crap.

  • Deuce Coupe. Deuce as in two. As in 193TWO.

  • O.D. on the rear end? I'm not gonna go back and look, but it is probably a quick change rear end. It ain't as quick as a two speed rear end. You must remove the rear cover and swap gears depending on the road or track. There was such a thing as a Columbia 2 speed rear end, but it was hardly any good for basic driving, much less racing. My father had one in a '40 Merc. 4 door sedan. It was very rare. He paid $600 for the MINT car in about '66. Flat 8 and 3 on column I think.

  • There will never be music like this, again. Don't let it fade away. Old Skool lives! Keep it alive, Kids! We are all Lone Wolves who must run together. Where is my '67 G.T.X. when I need it?

  • @dustyrustee...thanks for taking the time to respond to my comments of a year ago. However, you are mistaken. While all '28-'31 Ford autos were Model A's, the the trucks were the Model AA. Also, the 1932 Ford 4 cyl. autos were designated the Model B, the V8 was the Model 18, and the trucks were the Model BB. As a former member of the Model A Club of America, and the Early Ford V8 club, I could not escape learning these facts!

  • Well, you've heard it before.......Beautiful car.......

  • Beautiful car, man!

  • real deal steel or glass? so many fiberglass hi boys around

  • Best car song ever.

  • I love the car but I wouldnt have chromed the suspension components like that, it can weaken them and I know in Australia its actually illegal to do...research Hydrogen Embrittlement for anyone that is building a rod and thinking of chroming their springs. You can have it done professionally where they bake the spring after plating to try and remove all the hydrogen...but i'm still of the crowd that will just black dip the springs and embellish other aspects.

  • Love it.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Nice car great for the tune.

  • This coupe is so right on. Every show it has ever been in, it comes home with a huge trophy. Don and I have been friends for over 50 years. We hot rodded our way through the fifties together. Don built this after he retired. It's an original body and frame too. Hot rodding isn't just a "thing", it's a life. I'm building another this summer, a 32 roadster with Cadillac Northstar power.

  • @rjdenton479 are you his girl or a scrub?

  • are you his girl or scrub?

  • @rjdenton479 disgusting...its not a coupe

  • @rjdenton479 How's the roadster coming?

  • @rjdenton479 this car is absouloutely grogeous can i use it for my graduation next year ;)

  • @rjdenton479 what a great job on a very cool and classy car.. and set to great music..

    Thank you for sharing....

  • on a flathead, relieved means to cut away the metal that sticks up between the valves and the cylinder, and above the valves in the head for a little better air flow from the ports to the cylinder, and for clearance between the valves and the heads, you wouldnt need to cut crescents in the pistons, thats for an overhead valve engine for valve to piston clearance, not an issue on a flathead configuration engine.

  • Can't believe the people who hit sites just to hate. A true HOT RODDER got whatever he could to make his ride better.. The only reason a true hot rodder woudn't have a tilt wheel is cause he couldn't find one.. This ride is sweet.Don, one hella of a ride

  • Flatheads Forever!!! Haters are Chicken Shit!!!

  • What does he mean when he says "She's ported and relieved and she's stroked and bored." and the thing about the "lake pipes"?

  • @LeCutter Porting means to make the intake and exhaust ports larger or any desired shape to flow better. Relieved refers reliefs, or divets (think cresant moon) on the top of the piston. To keep the valves from hitting the piston tops. Stroked means the crank throw is longer, results in more torque. Bored means to enlarge the piston bores, increases the total volume of the engine. And lake pipes are the "capped off" exhaust pipes, like the ones on the car above. All for power and speed.

  • @krackle82 Thank you kindly, sir. That was very edifying.

  • thats a hot car! wish i could get one and restore it that would be an awesome time. love the song too

  • absolutley amazing

  • the car would look better just restored with stock enging

  • ha ha is the mufflers y two people disliked

  • You betcha!

  • very nice car, real hot rods dont have valve covers

  • gimme one of these babies any day over any piece of modern day junk..and that goes for your super cars too...these early hot rods will always turn heads

  • i love the beach boys <3

  • it's like a second language,beach music,I get it but i c how some might not,any questions?

  • shaved top

  • flat head mill

  • while you are tuning heads my twice pipe bmw will run you off the road

  • @fattony252 no one cares about your dumb bmw, fool. plus a deuce ccoupe is probably like a bajillion times faster than those heavyass things.

  • Vixtirrville? Who lives in Victorville?

  • @rjdenton479 Alas, RJ, I live in the Victor Valley as well, and on this Fourth of July morning, really enjoyed listening to the Beach Boys and Little Deuce Coups and reading your background. We did indeed grow up in the best of times for a teenager, from the late '50s to the mid '60s. Great music and good times enjoyed by all.

  • @rjdenton479 not me

  • MrMopar its a shame to have my BMW working against a piece of junk like a Ford 100. But if I can find the time I would love to blast the tires off your wreck in victorville.

  • your BMW (Beat My Weenie) will not turn heads like a true Deuce. You know that, doofus.

  • Bring the douche coupe out to gray Line Hill and I will blow your carbon out with my BMW 530

  • @fattony252 i seen your stupid fucking comments on like 6 other videos fuck your bmw witch means blackk mega winner theses are classics someone will look at one of these car befor they look at your shit car bring your shity car to victorville and ill tear you shit up in my 1963 ford f100

  • @fattony252 youre probably some dumb ass armeenian with a bmw that lives in mommas basement and wheres 22 gold chains beeotch!

  • Great sound track--that's my favorite Beach Boys track. Really suits the car as well. I love it that you used a flattie, but I would have thought you would have got more than 220 hp--you can get 200+ from a modified Mercury without a blower , no problem. Back in the 50's we were running a 46 coupe with a big overbore, aluminum heads, reground cam, ported & relieved, lightwieght pistons, and that put out arond 150-160 hp on a single carb.

  • 14 minutes of stupidity? Why? Just play the song you disgusting poser

  • Brian Wilson was singing about a rather specific car, a 1932 Ford Model B coupe. Not much variable here. I agree it is wonderful that we all still enjoy it. I remember very well the song came out. I wanted to get rid of my 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe and get a 1euce. This song made the price on 32 Fords crazy. You could find one for under $150.00 and that was too much.

  • I really love that you're all still out there talking about Brian's car songs. Hell, who knows. He didn't know anything about cars or surfing. He just made the music in a studio for us all to wax our cars to and fantisize about..and, I do all of the above. What a Little Deuce Coupe is will contune to be a figment of your imaginations.....could be alot of dif cars....

  • I always wondered about the refrain, "You don't know what I've got" Then he tells us EVERYTHING about the car!

  • @68enxy If you knew then he wouldn't have to tell you!

  • beautiful car. glad to see they are preserved. plus love to hear that song.

  • There's one more thing . . . I got the PINK SLIP DADDY! :D

  • Flat Head ! Sweet !

  • I have a question: "CAN I HAVE IT"? In a word: SWEET! My dad (who lived in Lomita, California used to built flathead engines in his back yard during the 1950's and 1960's, so your Deuce is gorgeous eye candy to me. If you remember "Drag Cartoons" magazines published in the 1960's you may remember my pop. He was a regular feature in Pete Millar's magazine, and was known as "Temple McFlathead". What a great era! Thanks for sharing. Mary

  • that isnt the beach boys singing...

  • perfect rod

  • is that a od on the rear end

  • @kuklok1989 That , my Friend , is a Hallibrand Quick Change Rear. It was used by stock car racers to be able to change gear ratios for different conditions on dirt tracks. Hot rodders picked up on them so they could drive to the Lakes and drag strips with one gear and change when they got there for changes in the salt an dtrack conditions. You can still get 'em if you've got the dinero.

  • Ok, that might be one of the best hot rods ive ever scene, its up there at least

  • if it was modified in the tradition of the fifties WHY THE AFTERMARKET TILT STEERING COLUMN ?????? asked you this question before but got no responce. true is true throughout! from a tradionalist. I still love the car!

  • I believe the 4 cyl. 32 Ford was the Model B, to differentiate it from the V8 model.

  • You are absolutely correct. This is a hot rod. It has been modified in the tradition of hot rodders of the 1950's. Then engine is a 1948 Mercury flathead, well modified. I didn't intend to mislead you into thinking it was a stock mdel B.

  • @rjdenton479 is funny,u r concerned with th the car,I like the music abbout ur car, what's easier to deal with, that's not a good attitude but is my attitude!

  • @sochocki Sorry, but no. All ford automobiles built from 1928 thru 1931 were designated as model 'A'

All ford automobiles built from 1932 thru 1934 were designated as model 'B' regardless of type, whether coupe, roadster, sedan, truck and regardless of engine type, the model designations A and B were applied universally.

  • Thank you for the video. must be some truth to the car still today! The Beach Boys wrote what was fast! thanks!

  • why is it called a duce coupe?

  • Deuce is a word derived from French meaning 2. Since the Model B Ford was produced in 1932 it was proclaimed to be the Deuce by hot rodders of the late 1940's.

  • so its not a model A? but that makes scene thanks

  • No. It's a Model B. 1932 was the first year for this bodystyle and also the first year for Ford's V8 engine.

  • @rjdenton479 i thought it was the 2 doors?

  • @09mazdaspeed3 is a 2 door crop top

  • There's a Ford!! Right to the core! It has Henry's spirit!!

  • Charlie Overfelt in Roanoke Virginia had the worlds fastest flat head that run on pump gas.I believe it was late 90's.

  • Ron Main's Flatfire holds the flathead speed record, at Bonneville, at 300+ mph. Nobody else is even close.

  • you didnt understand me, I said pump gas, this car you are speaking of doesnt run on pump gas, it is 26 feet long, carbon fiber body, and an air shifter. The car that I am speaking of was the fastest street legal flat head in the world for 4 years. I Steel body, pump gas, state inspected. I saw your video was basedon a traditonal car, I didnt realize we were talking about a streamliner.Sorry

  • No, it was my mistake. I was talking about flathead motors, not bodies or shifters. I have a 1931 roadster with a fuel injected flathead that ran Bonneville in the early forties. It has Hilborn injection unit #6, the oldest one in existence according to Stu Hilborn. Garletts has number 30-something and wants mine, but he's not getting it.

  • Wow what a nice traditional highboy! Early buicks. blown flattie, awesome quickchange, hairpins, all old school. My question is WHY the tilt colum and the way too new school stop and go pedals? I don't like yellow but this is so tastefully done I like it! Traditional flames would be killer to! Great car my deuce brother!!!!

  • Since "Deuce" refers to the year, '32, I would venture to say you have no idea of what you are talking about. It has nothing at all to do with how many windows.

  • very nice brings back the good days. I had a T-bird. don't think it could walk mine. nice

  • particularly like the exposed scoops, looks a 'mare to get right?

  • That shot at 0:26 says it all. Best angle for the '32 Ford!

  • It is a defining angle for sure, however, head-on at the grill works too.

  • sweet car and great song!!!!

  • Does that have a quick change rear end?

  • WOW, that has got to be one of the most beautiful Deuces I've ever seen!!

  • holy crap a tri power hemi.

  • Flathead Ford. Not a Hemi. Makes about 220 HP max. A Hemi would stick way out and have 600 HP or more.

  • wasn't the 300 mph record in drag racing held with a ford flat head??? I think flat heads can produce a little more than 220hp.

  • Maybe something at Bonneville in the flying mile but no flathead is doing 300 in a quarter mile unless it is 1000 cubic inches. Unless a flathead is for a street rod its a boat anchor.

  • i could be mistaken.. i thought somewhere around the 80s-90s the 300mph record was done by an old flathead dragster.

  • Beautiful

  • I love the yellow frame and rims. Great contrast to the black body. One of the nicest 32's I've seen in a while, and its not a boydster...

  • I'm 17 years old and a musclecar guy- I really enjoy working on my '68 Road Runner. But I'm a American Grafitti fan, too...

and I think I'm in love. This has to be the baddest hot rod I've ever seen. I really dig the yellow chassis and matching, blown flat-head. I'm going to bulid one just like it one day! Maybe when I'm done with the Runner...

    Actual video?! Please?!

  • its refreshing to see one done proper. all too many guys either built a junkyard rat or a boyd clone.

    very nice car, good job!

  • All Deuce frames should match body color ! !

  • No its not too short! It's perfect!! You can't find a better song than that its the right song!!

  • This car has it all. I only wish I could hear it!

  • Great Video but it is too short!! That is one amazing car!

  • I agree with you, Rich. The problem is the song is too short. I have hundreds of pics of this car and others. You are the music man, find me an appropriate song that's longer, and I'll redo it.

  • Its not too short. Brevity is the soul of wit!! Actually people are more likely to watch a short video on youtube.

  • You're a smart dude Robert! You learn quick!! Its good!

  • More tenacious, I think. Thank you. Your opinion means everything.
