  • running windows on a mac is like having sex with a prostitute without a condom.

  • Where can I get the boot camp drivers for windows 7 if I don't have the CD?

  • Pc running osx

  • ALL computer, mac etc can run windows 7...

  • @fahmiananda But Mac is special cause you can only run it on Mac.

  • @TheMacAppleMac really? my little sister can install linux ubuntu, windows 8 pre-beta, and bla bla bla... in my macbook pro...

  • @MajorGamer1000 Meant windows at the end.

  • @HKallan Ok, now let's say I have a windows game on a Mac pro via boot camp. Can I install it on windows, go back to OS Lion or whatever it is, and switch back to eindows to play it?

  • If I put windows on a mac, can I switch it back and forth without paying money?

  • @MajorGamer1000 Yes of course! :D

  • I take it I need a windows 7 installation disk for this? and obviously use bootcamp?

  • Windows is not better lol. It's garbage

  • amazing battery life with a better operating system...NICE!

  • Hey, is it super slow? Or is it a good speed?

  • im watching this a year after it was published lol

  • I need to run windows only for a couple of instruments' interfaces, and I don't wanna spend the price of a full retail copy. I've read that OEM can be installed as well, but only Home Premium and above? does anyone know why? in my country we have available the Starter version, that works fine with the software I use on a pc laptop, why wouldn't I be able to use that on my MBA? Thanks.

  • tap to click works even *right click* by "tap two fingers work". go to the small bootcamp icon down on ur taskbar, right click then choose boot camp control panel then click on the tab "track pad" pu a tick on "secondary tip" under two fingers and put a tick on "tap to click" under one finger and click ok :)

  • Para qee Cojones qiieres windows 7 si tienes una Macbook ??

  • to all the "why would you want to" questions.. what if you have adobe suite for windows that you paid $1500 for, and you need a new laptop, like the map, but want to not have to rebuy all your adobe software for freelance work.

i'm not really an apple fan or anything like that (i've always built my own amd pc's), but the macbook airs are pretty nice looking, portable, sleek, nice screen, good price, etc

  • can you install windows 7 on 80% of disk space rather than just a small part?

  • @drobinsingh1 Yes you can

  • @drobinsingh1 yep :D when you go into boot camp you can choose how much of your SSD you want to give to windows.

  • So you have an extremely expensive PC... Clever -.-

  • Best of both worlds. Top Quality Hardware with Top Quality Software.

  • Does this work with USB Bootable drives?

  • dont macbook air have like one big trackpad without left/right buttons? Can you right click with a mac book air in a windows environment?

  • where did u get window 7 cd

  • Comment removed

  • im gonna get one and use windows 7 - i just like the hardware cause its so slick.

and actually the new airs was better than m14x on some cpu tests.

  • @MegaCoreMagnetizer Yeah, Alienware get worse by the day. Their laptops aren't optimized like the macs are. Minecraft for me runs better on a year old Macbook Pro than the newest M14X with triple the specs lol

  • Why on earth would anyone soil their Mac with - ugh - WINDOWS! Weird . . .

  • Where's the cheapest place I can get a compatible Windows 7 disc?

  • @alexnzxVersion2 I guess you're referring to VMWare... Actually it runs pretty fast. I'm using that as a secondary coding machine on my pc, which has a Core Duo 2.6 CPU and 4 gigs of ram.

  • Can you right click in windows 7 using the MacBook air ? The trackpad is different so I wonder how you navigate

  • Smart and intelligent people use computers as tools. The more choices and combinations of hardware and software you have to achieve certain goals, the better. Snobs deny all other choices, but their own, just because they want to look and sound the smartest on the block. The reality is that, they are the most technically and intellectually challenged of all.

  • @klinok19 HAHAHAHAHA that is very true....well said !!!!!

  • @riverjohnny: vmware workstation can run osx, even lion :) go figure :)

  • @emresumengen it can run it but extremely slowly.

  • Sorry if this has been said, but actually windows do support multitouch and "some" gestures. Just not the same as in OSS, but well, that's normal. It's apple's driver (for the touchpad) that doesn't support it. (he'll yeah, even the magic mouse doesn't perform right if you're in windows)

  • 0:06 :D

  • One question: Why?

  • @cfcc1989 For some of the engineering programs my school use, they only offer them in a windows format. So if you have a mac, you can just run your mac in windows 7 when necessary.

  • found out that the mac desktop was actually a screensaver

  • @MidnightAnonymous oh i don't no, maybe to bleed more money from people? Not everyone's gonna be comfortable with, or have the means to always borrow the optical drive of other computers.

  • Can you install win 7 with the cd/dvd sharing feature for the air?

  • @AppleManiaDude you grab a window when there are a bunch of windows and shake and the rest of the windows go away exept the one you clicked on

  • guys stop this stupidity.all os are great.i love ubuntu i love mac osx and i love windows to..

  • OS X > Windows

  • For me, WIndows = Mac OS

I bought my Mac for the hardware and the design.

  • @Uberjoe19 Really? You can get a 3.8GHz, 8GB, 1 TB PC from Alienware M14x for $200 less than a Macbook. What Mac has specs like that for less than $1500? Hardware please

  • @buffalowingdoritodud Those things are greater then the sum of their parts. It's the design, quality, final touch and polish they have. No doubt Apple products are a bit overpriced. You can for sure get much better specs for less money elsewhere. If you're looking for the best price/power ratio you won't find it apple. But you won't find the same quality and fine touch elsewhere :)

  • @buffalowingdoritodud fuck specs dude, you gonna lug that thick, heavy piece of plastic crap around all day long!?!?! stop writing bullshit. i went to the website myself, and the best specs you can choose are a 750 GB hard disk, NOT 1 TB, 6GB of RAM, NOT 8GB, 2.3 ghz processor with 3.4 ghz of turboboost, NOT 3.8, and all this was for a GRAND TOTAL OF... $1749. so please, stop misinforming the general public. true you would have to spend more for mac, but you wont get those specs for 1500 bucks.

  • @SpartanDara117 Dude yes you can! First just buy the plain M14x $1000 then upgrade the 750GB to 1TB, then get another 2GB of RAM. That's less than $1500. And if you overclock you can get up to 3.3 GHz I've seen it on core i5 which is in M14x or core i7 960 extreme overclocked to 4.6 buddy. So yes it is still under $1500 if you buy the other parts external from Alienware. The M14x is not even that heavy just put it in a computer bag and you don't feel the weight. What idiot uses a backpack?

  • @Uberjoe19 apple hardware is a joke...

  • @Uberjoe19 exactly!!

  • @Uberjoe19 I installed mac on my awesome gamer pc. mac hardware, imo sucks. but the operating system is nothing short of excellent.

  • The only way macs run best.

  • why no areo

  • Random boot up at he end o.o

  • @AppleManiaDude minimize the windows - windows 7 function

  • I will install Windows 95 when I get it!

  • 204 people buy Mac's for installing Windows on it.

  • @Polo4413 i use windows on a mac too, i love apple so i buy every thing apple, but im just too deep in windows to change. I use mac os very rarely.

  • What link is it could you please tell me the exact links you used.

    Thanks

  • I'm soooooo tired of people saying windows is for business all kinds of people use it

  • BLASPHOMY!!!!

  • why have a mac if you want windows ?

  • @Andyvpaintball Someone (like me) need Windows just to do some other small stuffs about work, but I'm multiplatform, and I use Mac for my graphic work. But... The point is: If you have a MacOs you can use both with parallels or bootcamp, try to make start MacOs from Windows.. and good luck! :P (anyway it works also Hackintosh! But not so easy to do.. So you can have MacOs on PC!!). Bye!

  • Can you use Aero with Windows 7 running natively on a mac?

  • Windows > Mac

  • Yay BootCamp video :P

  • @PapanikolaouC Why would you need 64-bit? You don't need that much RAM in the MacBook Air.

  • number if you are going to use a windows pc use it on a regualr pc not on a mac

  • to all u faggots that keep saying windows is better and talking shit about steve jobs, fyi it takes mac OS 4 processes to open a program while it takes windows 32. and mac OS takes up less space anyway, windows is still great but seriously this isnt a battle and my "gazillions" of dollars spent on a macbook air is much better spent than a plastic pc of the same price. and plus my macbook has never crashed and is the thinnest computer in the world so suck it

  • @gstatwalrus samsung has the thinnest laptop and frankly, there may be others that I just don't know about. this whole crashing thing is bogus- I have both mac and pc and they both crash. every mac and pc I have ever used has crashed. people gotta get over this bs.

  • @gstatwalrus Plastic PC? I'm pretty sure that Macs make a plastic computer, too...

  • @MrJazzyjeff510 Nope! :D Apple uses 100% recyclable materials. Pretty much every mac has aluminium casing. Its also very smart because it also means that you don't need as much fans, in the mac the heat just conducts out through the metal ! Its the small things that make me love apple 

  • @quiteconfused Good for Apple. I said that they made a plastic computer. I never denied that they made hippie machines.

  • Now your Mac is in danger of getting a pc virus

  • I can't believe someone actually said Linux is good. I administer thousands of Linux machines, and the only thing worse than Linux is... dun dun DUUUN! Solaris...

  • bill gates is scared that chuck norriss computer may crash one day

  • hows the battery life?

  • so when you install windows seven, every time you go to boot it up it will ask you what operating system you want it to run?

  • @skrimisher08 If you hold the option key when you turn it on, it will give you the option. Otherwise, it will boot into OS X by default, unless you specify Windows 7 by default in System Preferences.

  • @HeadShot360IN

just ask precisely why programmers use this program? hehe

  • @PAKISRULEZ

I agree with what he says but I think it is very heavy as windows operating system (I have also

Windows)and in many cases hangs ''in the hourglass'' going to applications

  • @buildingmovies

I did not think could have such problems, I use and I have not seen these kinds of problems but because of the response

  • 12 people cut themselves shaving their vaginas -_-

  • @chikensaregood ????

  • Can you use windows 7 usb tool?

  • @meringu somtimes it works, but sometimes, the EFI Partition support (People may say the the "efi" folder on the install dvd allows EFI booting. NO. It provides EFI partition support. To boot Windows, the EFI uses BIOS emulation.) is not working, and without that, Windows will not recognize a non-MBR formatted HD.

  • 12 ppl dont like Halloween

  • why windows?

  • @Fukobros cuz linux on the air has major screen problems

  • @Fukobros windows b/c its more open to the world... and for smart ppl... not dumb as ppl who use macs..... don't worry viruses are coming to macs too they already for 278 different kinds of for macs and more on the way... so then i will ask u macs what happen to ur virus gold point that u ppl brag lol

  • @PAKISRULEZ i agree, windows is more practical. macs are just a toy. If there was a real fight, like an actual war between all pc users versus all mac users, pc would win. just sayin'

  • @HeadShot360IN

Simply not true. I admin an entire company of 80pcs with the only Apple at the facility simply because I do more with it. Windows, Linux and Ubuntu are all admind easier from OSX.

Yes there is more mainstream software in the windows world but it hardly defines it as more "practical". They both have their place...

  • @rsfeller no, only windows has a place. that's like saying that buying a Hydrogen powered Hummer like the Governator, is just as good as gasoline or diesel vehicles because they are BOTH practical. no, just no, a hydrogen powered car would not be more practical since there is NO WHERE TO BUY THE FUEL FOR IT. Macs are like hydrogen powered cars; impracticle to use: no fuel, no software.

  • @Fukobros cause only poor people use linux (or programmers, no offense (i use linux for stuff that needs special kernels)), and if you have a mac, you obviously have more than enough money, so you probly know how to use windows

  • whats the startup time like? How does it compare to

  • have you had any problems with headset on windows 7? i remember i did it on my macbook pro and it wouldnt work with headset on windows 7.. so i had to find a weird file and throw into a map.. would be great it i didnt have to do that again.

  • @hoolin7 - boot camp + external DVD drive

  • Best configuration ever!

  • do u know how to do it with the usb ?

  • I love the 11" and wanted to get one, my only concern was storage. What programs did you have installed for both Mac and Windows? And how much HD did you have left?

  • @tyapka What?!? Why would u want Android? Its like saying that you like Windows over Mac OS X! It makes no sense!!!

  • Who's willis?

  • it rly should say 'you've successfully raped your macbook air' once the installation's done

  • Good! Waiting till somebody runs Android on iPhone 4

  • @tyapka wow. apple hater much?

  • @tallblondekid No. Steve, I whish you to recover as soon as possible and get back to the great work you do. Though I do not agree with many Apple policies.

  • Is the boot up time similar with windows 7 on the mac??

  • @liedABOUTmyAGE boot time of the original OS is about 14 sec. I also read some articles that state thу boot time of Wins7 on Air is about the same.

  • how do u right click

  • @ICYASIAN95 you click with two fingers on the trackpad.

  • @ICYASIAN95 well you can set it up on system preferences , you can tab with 2 fingers or use the right corner botton

  • Did they fix the new Mac Book Air?

The previous gen was kind of glitchy.

  • erm i have a macbook air 11, i installed windows 7 on bootcamp problem 1: no wireless adapter? can u give me a link to a driver and 2. screen resolution at max but really squashed :( can anyone help me?

  • I want a Macbook Air '10!!!!!!!!! lol Nice review dude!!!!

  • @mecher3k you're an idiot.I'm really wasting my time arguing with you.I guess it must be killing you now that apple is so successful.I like both Mac and windows, but you don't see me hating on Microsoft.Everybody has a personal preference and if windows is your thing then so be it.Keep your animosity over apple to yourself, no one cares what you think.

  • @mecher3k you dum fuck, market share is the share price multiplied by the number of outstanding shares, which is how one reaches a valuation of a company.Apple is at $227, becoming the second largest American company by market share. They surpassed Microsoft's market share a long time ago and are now the largest tech company in the world.

  • @mecher3k you're such a fucking idiot, you obviously don't know anything about what market share is.Get your facts right you dum fuck.According to the New York Times Apple's market share surpassed Microsoft.Apple market shares have continued to be rising giving them a net market worth $227 billion vs Microsoft $226 billion.

  • @mannypeligroso

"you obviously don't know anything about what market share is."

Oh ok, so it's not how many of the worlds computers use a certain OS. You know has computers are a market.

".According to the New York Times Apple's market share surpassed Microsoft."

That's great, too bad according to everyone else, Windows dominates Mac easily.

    Again Windows = Over 90%. Mac = 5%.

  • @mannypeligroso

Oh yea, Apple's profits are going to go way down in the coming years. iPhone is losing lots of market share due to the Android platform. All analysis points to Androids being more popular by 2012, if not sooner.

And there goes 1/3 of Apple's profits

    Poor Apple, always sucking eventually.

  • @inuadi

"The only reason Windows is above Mac is because they distribute it to many hardware companies."

Or because there's like 10 pieces of software for Macs, oh and the Mac OS sucks.

    "Vista was disastrous."

That's why Apple barely gained like 2% market share during it, LOL. Oh and has pretty much lost it all thanks to W7.

". I've never had these probs with my Mac."

Because you don't do anything with it besides browsing the web. Try gaming, oh wait LMFAO!

  • @inuadi

"that Microsoft is a stale and lousy company"

Right because XP, Vista, W7 are the samething, lmfao.

"Apple is not only more successful than them but they are now bigger than them"

    Prepare to eat those words.

Apple's Operating income US $18.39 billion FY 2010

Microsoft's Operating income US $24.098 billion FY 2010

Yep, totally can see how apple is more successful, LMFAO. Ahh macfags.

And bigger? That's why Apple is getting raped by Android phones? HAHA, ahh macfags again.

  • hi is it possible to remove the Mac OS altogether and only runs Win7? i dont wanna wast disk space...

  • Comment removed

  • @tc4101 mac osx is only 5 GB big so it doesnt realy matter and why would you buy a mac in the first place if you want to run windoes 7 on it? and yes it is possible

  • @mecher3k the reason theres more games on a PC than a Mac is cause there's a bigger market for it.The majority of people have windows based PC's so developers will stick to developing for windows. However, apple's market share just surpassed Microsoft and Mac sales are rising so this will soon change. For example, just recently Steam joined the Mac platform and released some major games. If you don't know Steam they're like the iTunes for gaming.

  • @mannypeligroso Never gonna happen fanboy

  • @mannypeligroso

".However, apple's market share just surpassed Microsoft "

Where are you so I bitch slap you for being so retarded.

Windows' market share is over 90%, Mac is 5%. Windows' market share is nearly 20 times greater then Mac's.

    So much Fail.

".If you don't know Steam they're like the iTunes for gaming."

Uh WHAT?! Itunes is in no why like Steam and of course I know what steam is you fucktard. I bought Half Life 2 the day it came out.

  • obviously windows would run just fine.....windows 7 is a solid OS i prefer it for the fact that i would rather not pay 1000 bux for a netbook with the same specs as a 300-400 dollar netbook apple is just way too overpriced for the hardware you get.

  • @mecher3k dude, the Mac app store is looking very attractive for developers.Just look at the iPhone. It was ranked number one in mobile gaming cause so many games were downloaded via the app store. The app store is such an easy platform for developers to advertise and sell their apps now that it's coming to the Mac I'm sure developers will jump at every opportunity. My point being is that game development on the Mac will soon be huge.

  • @mannypeligroso

"dude, the Mac app store is looking very attractive for developers.Just look at the iPhone."

And like I give a fuck about the iPhone? It's not a PC, it's fucking smartphone.

"It was ranked number one in mobile gaming"

Yea MOBILE GAMING. And all those games are nothing compared to any AAA games on a real gaming platform. Console or PC.

    You = fail.

  • Oh the flamewars, mac fanboys having to come up with lies to try and win an argument, funny. Macs/apple product are prettier than microsoft products in general, but they perform like a turd compared to microsoft.

  • good job mate

  • Mac OS rocks!!! Better OS and better developed software.

  • @macuser5555

Better OS and better developed 10 pieces of software? lmfao.

  • @mecher3k Yep, and those ten pieces of software (As you flame along) are better coded than the 100 pieces of junk that's on Windows. Most of the software (even Microsoft Office 2011) on both platforms is better on Mac, more functionality, better UI and easier to use. Gimme a break, after all these years Windows still has that awful Registry. WHY? Because Microsoft spends more time trying to make it more "Mac-Like" in terms of looks but it's still just the same Windows since Windows 2000.

  • @macuser5555

"than the 100 pieces of junk that's on Windows."

100? Almost every piece of software for PCs is meant for windows you idiot. And better coded my ass.

"is better on Mac, more functionality, better UI and easier to use."

Ignoring that they are the same thing, just ported to a different OS.

"after all these years Windows still has that awful Registry. WHY?"

    Awful? How so?

"but it's still just the same Windows since Windows 2000."

    Uh bullshit.

  • @mecher3k Yeah, that's right 100. I thought I would return the same rude compliment you gave to the Mac for having only 10 pieces of software. Get this shithead, just because Windows has a bit more software (and it's ONLY a bit more now) doesn't make it the better platform to buy. And that's right JUNK. A lot of Windows software is pure JUNK, anyone UNblind Windows fanboy knows that. Oh has the Registry now changed??? No more Registry errors or PC slow performance Registry Cleaning? UR an idiot.

  • @macuser5555

You do realize the 100 comment only proves my point right? But to me more accurate the ratio would be more like 10,000:1 and not 10:1.

And lol at my comment being rude towards Macs. Didn't know mac's had feelings, guess they are all emo. Would explain the people that buy macs though.

    "has a bit more software"

    Nah, a ratio of 10,000:1 isn't a bit more. It's a shit ton more.

"A lot of Windows software is pure JUNK"

So? It has a shit ton more software. Some of it will be junk

  • @macuser5555

    "No more Registry errors"

    Never had them.

    "PC slow performance Registry Cleaning?"

Considering how I constantly run 3D Mark tests and the score only increases as drivers get better shows that nope, it doesn't slow down performance.

Maybe it would make a different on P4 CPUs with 512 MB RAM, but not any modern CPU.

Now go give more blowjobs to Steve Jobs.

  • @mecher3k At least I can say with a straight face that my Macs all run very well with little to no maintenance. Nice that you lie about your PC experience with a straight face. You must make a living as a liar. Lawyer much? Go to hell, all PC fanboys get their panties in a bunch and get very defensive when they see people switching to a Mac because it's just plain better.

  • @macuser5555

"At least I can say with a straight face that my Macs all run very well with little to no maintenance."

I can say the same thing about my computer. Any maintenance I need done is done automatically.

"get very defensive when they see people switching to a Mac because it's just plain better."

Too bad hasn't happened in over a year now. As Macs are losing PC market share actually.

  • @mecher3k Your WIndows 7 shit has automatic maintenance? Yeah, if you count tweaking it yourself on a friday night since no girl will go out with you as Automatic then yeah, it's automatic. Oh, but yes, it is automatic, it offers auto updating of shit that does nothing to fix the problems, you do get automatic virus protection and you do get automatic BSOD's. LOL. GTFOH you Windows loser.

  • @macuser5555

    "you do get automatic BSOD's."

Actually the only BSOD's I've had came when my GPU started to overheat when the thermal paste dried up and became useless. Happens when you can actually play the latest games.

  • @mecher3k I can give you a handful of useful tools on Mac, just to a name a few; Stacks, Spaces, Expose, systemwide Multitouch gestures, Time Machine and Quicklook that opens any MS Office document without any version of Office installed. Exchange support without any version of MS Office installed.

What can you do on your PC from the desktop? Let's see......oh yeah, you can snap two windows side by side. Nice feature but....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @macuser5555

I find it funny you think I can't do any of that. Ignoring that my computer was built for gaming, blu-ray ripping, etc. Something Macs can only do by spending $2000 or more dollars.

Stacks is nothing special and is useless. Same with spaces. Expose is in windows already.

Don't care about touchscreen as mouse and keyboard is faster.

Time Machine actually shows how Macs can and do fail.

    So much fail from you.

  • @mecher3k HAHAHAHAHA, What's Blu-Ray? That's a dying platform. Even Microsoft admitted that they agree with Apple that BR is not gonna last and it's really not a big deal having it in a computer. I'll bet you don't even truly use it. Don't lie. Yeah, try convincing yourself that Windows has Expose. LOL. W7's copycat feature of Expose is retarded, nobody uses it. STACKS USELESS? I don't think so and Spaces is the most celebrated feature on Macs. YOU ARE THE BIGGEST FAIL ON YOUTUBE. Worthless U.

  • @macuser5555

    "What's Blu-Ray? That's a dying platform."

Blu-Ray is a dying platform.... That's why more and more blu-rays are sold every year...

HD streamed videos are never the same quality has blu-ray, never.

"I'll bet you don't even truly use it."

Oh ok, I'll pretend I don't have the BSG series, Avatar, Dark Knight, etc rips on my 1TB hard drive then.

Expose for windows is just like the one for Mac.

    Stacks and Spaces are useless.

  • @macuser5555

There is no point in splitting up my screen making each section smaller, that is fucking retarded as fuck. It's like playing co-op on a big screen TV, defeats the purpose of the big screen TV.

Rather just have two or more monitors which is easily possible with my 460 GTX.

"Your WIndows 7 shit has automatic maintenance?"

Yes it does. Tweaking it Friday night? Nope, I do zero maintenance by myself.

  • @inuadi

Lol, because Blu-rays are a great improvement over DVDs, this is a fact. And is still much more detailed then any HD stream.

HD streams bitrates are often half, if not less, then that of Blu-ray's.

But I know I'm going over the head of a macfag that sucks Steve's cock and thinks the Ipad is actually revolutionary.

  • Comment removed

  • @inuadi

"I don't get HD movies at all."

Because as a macfag you are too stupid to realize how much better it is.

"Steve has contributed much more in this world"

Lol Steve Blowjobs has contributed nothing to the world.

    "Use your crap Windows machine."

That is powered by an core i7 920, 6gb of DDR3 RAM, two hard drives, geforce 460, audigy 2. Yep so crappy, LOL. That's why I can play Crysis on, oh wait you can't play Crysis or 99% of games!

  • @mecher3k Tell me this dumbass, why do you WIndows fanboys always download haxies to fake the Mac experience? HUH? Let's see, Rocket Dock, Stardock and then these haxies have the STACKS DOCKLETT. Yeah, Stacks must be useless if the haxies have that feature built in. Is the Taskbar too boring that you have to have a fake Dock? Windows is a fake copy period. Just like you're a fake copy of a human being.

  • @macuser5555

"why do you WIndows fanboys always download haxies to fake the Mac experience?"

Because they don't. It's not hard to see the profits of those companies and see not many use it. Though with Stardock they have Impulse so that would explain their higher profits. You know, GAMES.

Oh wait, your a Mac user.

"Just like you're a fake copy of a human being. "

Yep, I'm actually a AI that was made by the CIA and went rogue. Now I go to windows PC to windows PC and troll Macfags.

And I call bullshit as a Core i5 will destroy any cpu that old.
