She did tell the judges that she's been singing her whole life & Im sure she had to disclose her experience prior to becoming a contestant, however, just because she has a single in a sound track 5 years ago, doesn't make her a pop star. Shes up & coming and doing whatever shes gotta do to get her career rolling (as most artists do).

It's more about exposure than getting a break, the more people hear her and connect with her the better. No single producer can do that like American Idol can.

Idol really needs to communicate a clear definition of whom they consider an amateur. I'd like to see the literary gymnastics needed to squeeze Frankie Jordan into that definition of "amateur." Idol must foresee this controversy. Perhaps Idol doesn't care because they're setting Jordan up to get her clock cleaned by some cute 16-year-old nobody. That's fine, but the show should at least acknowledge the fact that Jordan's got two singles for sale on iTunes, etc.
