The whole global warming scare is a scam as well as this stupid report. The Earth is now cooling.

I hate spam, but the question is, if there were no spam should the routers and computers then consume less energy?

I have no professional opinion on the causes of climate change (or lack of it).

But in answer to your question, yes the calculations only measured energy that wouldn't have been used if there were no spam.

Also, if there were no spam filters, about 5x the energy would be used (assuming the same level of spam, which is probably unrealistic).
