In deep TV, magazines, whatever everywhere, there are someone that only want to make money, if you find this it[s because sell a lot, more than other thing...in deep the result of money is the final word you can find this because sell a lot

  • What I think is that all that talk about virtual boyfriend/girlfriend is scary.

Makes you wonder what the future of this world will look like.

  • type of girls?slutz :|

  • U know I am totally with ya!! Hehe

  • Those stuff when we lived in Japan lol no big deal

  • I bet this woman read the book right after Hahaha after lol just kidding . My sister used to have

  • I think that sex should be kept before marriage, so anything with sexual content in it isn't right.

In any case, if the guy looks at it for the sex, then he's cheating on his girlfriend/wife just as one would actually having sex anyway, and vise versa for the girl in the relationship. That's why anime so tempting on us Americans (and anywhere else for that matter), because of all the immoral things that draw us in.

    Thanks for posting.

  • @BoyOfLol :D :D :D cute

  • @BoyOfLol Are you a priest?

  • @BokuWaIchibanDa Close, a 16 year old metal head.

  • I've seen lots of girls in japan that put their up and dress-up like the girls in these anime/henti books and shows

  • @TheAbridgedGamer

sex isn't gross. porn isn't gross. hentai isn't gross.

there's nothing gross about it. you just need to grow up.. lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheAbridgedGamer

uh.. i don't know what you mean, but hentai and anime are two different things.

it's like saying porn has crappy storylines. obviously. because that's not the main point of it.

you're comparing apples and oranges. it's not like hentai is encroaching on your precious anime; they're in two different categories. so don't worry about it.

  • @310BPM

Umm never mind, your right, stupid argument i made, kinda pointless to argue about.

    Take care ok :)

  • @TheAbridgedGamer

    haha, don't worry about it.

people's opinions change all the time.

i'm glad i could make you change your mind, though! (if i did).

  • part 2 lol. well in My Opinion i believe that after being faced with the reality of the superficiality in our world. these kids find comfort and ease gaining what they want by simply sitting home and clicking a couple of mouse clicks :). while some may think its bad, to those who enjoy it. it's real joy which i think is what matters the most. and to come is more intense stuff lol because we are evolving alongside everything else -,-. from language to our way of thinking and moral perception.

  • What i think is that we are evolving technologically on a very fast rate. that can lead to alot of misconceptions. i am 24 so my conception of right and wrong is different somewhat from those who are born in the past couple of years. imagine you being a child and reading that these urges are natural and you don't need to be embarrassed of (which i was told the opposite when i was a kid) then living in a superficial world of ugly and beauty..this is my opinion =D

  • I have a question. If your not interested in those type of comics, why did you buy that one? It's pretty big, i guess it was cheap if you bought it or you just have money to spend. lol nice video

  • Let me know what you think ->

    .

    ..

    WTF?^^

  • こんにちは Hiroko, I don't see the major interest in hentai Anime or Manga. But, since you mentioned the fact that Japan is different with less physical contact with one another, it might make sense for women/men to depend on these. I however see Japanese Anime as an art, and can't fathom why they have to go to that genre in animation. :(

  • Enjoyed the video ty

  • It's nice to a girl from japan actually make a good video about a nice topic that doesn't really get much attention, and a cute one at that. Great job^^

  • @EvoSpx Don't just judge Japan, people are people no matter where they are. If Japanese men were born and/or raised in America they would be similar to an American with traits that are/aren't favorable to Japanese girls/women, I know because I was raised in America but born in Asia. I would flame your post with illicit comments but your better off learning on your own since I pity people like you. Have a good day^^

  • @EvoSpx your stupid and you have a small penise

    go fuck yourself

  • @TheYosh96 you little fag talking about a mans penis.

  • That said, yes I do enjoy anime/manga/cosplay a great deal.

  • I'll admit it, I have read those comics from time to time (though, haven't really touched them the past few years). That said, I don't think any meaningful relationship can be wrought from it, or any relationship at all for that matter. If someone finds that they like something, awesome. If someone else doesn't like it, that's fine too.

I would much rather cultivate a relationship with someone real. It is just my preference. I make no judgments toward anyone who may enjoy a game like Love Plus

  • Hmm. I think it is creepy. I would like to do sex in real world rather than to imagine it by reading fictional manga or novel.

  • I think Japanese people, specially the girls, need to be more open minded and don't have all this issues with sex and porn, it seems that a lot of people wants but they don't do nothing.

  • looks kinda like ayumi

  • Well, the shock value is the draw of the mangas. Here in the states, the typical argument that i have with my peers is the use of profanity, excessive violence and sexual situations IN videogames. I'm 28 so most adult content doesnt bother me, but some of our best selling games are rated M (M for mature content) and in games like Call of duty, when i play with friends online, we'll hear through voice chat very, very young kids.

Conclusion: Adult content sells and its best buyers are teenagers

  • I agree with you . I don't like these stuff too .. although I love anime / manga

  • how much is 600 yen in U.S. Dollars.

  • quick question... no offense tho.. is prostitution is legal in japan.. or is just certain places of japan...?

  • Don't try and destroy my image of a Timid, shy, Pure and Innocent Japanese Girl ='(

  • Alright, it might just be me but reading and listening to two somewhat related points starts to get confusing rather quickly.

In terms of the video... I appreciate it's a video blog, but it seems to be very much the same thing you talked about in the previous video related to this one - you don't like this sort of thing. Now that's great, but ... I just feel this video lacked structure. I guess you attempted to demonstrate what was available, but you weren't willing/able to show it.

  • What i think: pedohilia is going the same way homosexuality did some years ago. I think comic books like this one is an example of that.

  • she's right in the comments that in NA, everything from tv to ads is basically porn short of actual nudity. So tucking it away in a niche comic book is pretty tame by any standard.

  • that thing is enourmous

Q:what if someone tries to put that in there pocket?

A:they win a trip to the clothes store i supose

  • I think u might be over reacting a little bit because in the end it's a comic book it's all about fantasy and things like that and it's better then people actually doing perverse things like smacking someone in the ass or tripping a girl in particular so you can see her ass. Anyway the guys here in America r all perverts that want to hav sex with little girls about half they're age and they all like boobs so if the guys over there didn't have some kind of vent thing for their hormones they woul

  • I'm more amazed at the size of that book. It's like the yellow pages of manga. And you can find it in convenience stores!? Wow. And it's cheap too.

  • @richdeanz That's common in Japan for manga to be that size. Also manga is very cheap. I bet the one she is holding in the video didn't even cost more than 1000 yen.

  • The comics you talk about like the one in your hand kind of remind me of "smut" books here in the US. They're not graphical comics; instead they literary works that usually have a theme of girl meets mysterious dashing man. He romantically courts her and they have wild passionate sex whilst danger is all around them. They usually live happily ever after. Well, the gist is that American woman find romantic stories desirable and these "smut" books seem to fulfill their imaginative fantasies.

  • @Cirris BTW, "smut" books are more specifically called romance novels. Harlequin is one of the more popular publishing companies.

  • hi hiroko how are you i don't know if you will read this comment since people comment alot on your videos but i want to tell you that i like your channel and i think we could be friends also i want to know when you mean manga with sexual content do you mean ecchi or hentai?

  • i think if boys read such books, theyd do it because of the sexual contest.

if a girl reads it, she wont care that theyre having sex. i dont want to blame boys but i think its the love story that they want to see. even if those manga a almost always arent good in a literally way

  • hiroko you are so cute, i want to kiss all over your soft body and then have slow sex with you.

  • Ive been looking at your videos and i really like them please keep up the good work. I am planning on taking a vacation to japan soon and they are very insightful about Japanese culture.

  • "Maybe Japanese girls are not as innocent as you think...."

I know several japanese girls, and sure, they are not as innocent as people think. ;)

    They are quite naughty :P

  • I think people don't want to be bothered anymore with a real boyfriend/girlfriend and try to find love in a virtual world. It reminds me the anime "Chobits" which talks about that (robot girlfriend/boyfriend).

For the moment this kind of process is affecting "otaku" but it will probably expand because relationship between men and women are more and more difficult.

That's my analysis (2 cents lol)

  • i agree i liked the old anime/manga the new ones looks like porn to me

  • What's wrong with virtual girlfriends?

  • "manga with sexuall content".......isn't that what they call "Hentai"?

  • @starsaunt

Not in Japan. They call it "adult manga."

In western countries they call it "Hentai manga."

  • I've been watching your videos for some time, and it seems that you're always trying to do some psychology in your videos. Trying to guess other peoples mind, trying to find excuses.

It seems japaneses are always complexed about their society.

  • 0:35 Is that a comic? Looks more like a phone book

  • I get you. There are some comic books or genres that I am drawn toward and some not so much. The "sexy-time" ones don't really do it for me either.

  • What do I think about this? (Interesting topic, by the way.) Hmmm. I guess my feeling is the older, wiser, more mature segment of society should be watching out more carefully for the younger ones. Certainly the artists and scenario-writers are older than their audience. I question the wisdom of throwing out erotic content to young people just because there may be a market for it. I am not sure what the total message society is sending to them by doing so.

  • nothing beats NARUTO!!!!!!!!!! =)

  • I hope you actually recycled that MANGA at the end though. ;)

  • i always hate it when i read a series and its totally GOOD and thenthey HAVE to slip in a sex scene,,, like not a kissing thing like OMFG MY EYES sex scene... and nudity,,, =_= like i really love yuu watase but i dont read her stuff anymore bc i know there is going to be something weird in it :( she has good stories though

  • You might be interested to know that what you're describing here falls into the category of erotica as opposed to pornography. The former is meant to put viewers in the mood while the latter focuces almost entirely on the act itself. As far as virtual boyfriends/girlfriends are concerned they just modern incarnations of fairy-tale princesses/princes, like prince charming. You see real people have flaws while virtual people can measure up to one's expectations 100%. It's not really a new trend.

  • I think what Hiroko san is trying to say is:

DORAEMON FOR THE WIN!!! OH YEA BABY!!!

  • This is one of the most interesting videos you've made so far.

In my humble opinion, anything goes sexwise if you restrict it to fantasies and you keep it in the realm of fantasy. Those books are obviously satisfying some people's fantasies or otherwise nobody would buy them. Thus they are fulfilling a function that they can't fulfill in real life.

  • This might just be the reason why Japan's population is on the decline. Less people having sex, and thus having children, because they are filling their time with the fantasy world. It is completely understandable, however, from the outside looking in, it appears that there is a huge addiction to this medium. Is it any different than porn? No. Should it be looked down on? No. To each his own. The world cannot please the world. A closed mind is a hindered mind. Keep the videos coming:)

  • since you asked.. i think for some people sexual activity is stimulating. it's interesting and it makes you feel desire, which can lead to the activity of doing sexual things. for some its curiosity into things that are "taboo" or deemed inappropriate to talk about. i don't think women are that different from men, they are programmed differently by society and often follow different norms and standards, but deep down they also have the animal-like urge to have good pleasing sex.

  • Hm...like you said, people often want what they can't have. Anime and manga does a great job of realizing these peoples' fantasies because they are (in)famous for portraying a world that is (far) more idyllic than the one we live in. I guess you could call it wishful thinking or a search for greener pastures...but, ultimately, I see no problem with it as long as the audience of this type of media is old enough for the sexual lewdness.

  • Well, there's a dating game for ds called "Tokimeki memorial girls side", where you can find a virtual boyrfriend or something.. I haven't tried it :s.

Anyways, good point! I like reading girls manga a lot myself, but it's not the ones with lots of sexual content, so.. yeah >>.

  • The only way us ugly shallow guys are going to get a hot girl friend is in the virtual world! XD

  • I like innocent Japanese girls :D

  • Thank you for the video!

Well, for me it doesn't really matter if there are sexual scenes or not. I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but I'd say that 80-90% of female shoujo manga fans all over the world like.. "kinky" stuff, even if they say they don't. What's more, it's not just shoujo manga with sexual scenes. More and more girls nowadays are into boys love manga with TONS of sex (lots of them substitute the plot with sex).

  • So it's like... girls of college age and older (I'd say girls from 17) are pretty much into it, though they prefer to hide it, because like you've said, you wouldn't want to see your bf reading stuff like that and watching porn as well, while most of the girls do the same thing. I mostly prefer reading manga by Shimotsuki Kayoko, Yumeko Sumomo, Asano Inio, Fujiwara Kaoru... I guess, you'd call it non-mainstream..? But I wouldn't really mind anything spicy^^ Like movies have sex scenes.

  • @dothetwist298 Seriously.... Hiroko needs to just recognize the fact that there are some rather kinky girls in japan. She clearly isn't one of them, but if she keeps on doing "research" such as this, she'll eventually become a "fan" too :-)

  • I must say i agree with your point, though i am a fan of anime and manga of all sorts.

I heard about the games Love+ and Love++, but i thought it was a good idea. I read somewhere that a lot of japanese people have trouble finding love, maybe because of how society wroks?, so if they can be happy with Love+, i say good for them!

I never heard of the game for girls though, what is it called?

  • i know this is a random question but is it common for everyone to read comics?

  • @ross1manley pretty common. There are some grown ups that just have no interest whatsoever, but most people have/ do read comics time to time.

  • the video comment is priceless xD

  • love mangas tooo ^oo^

    hei...do u like final fantasy ?? :D .... or kingdom hearts ??

may u could make a vidi from that ?? xD

  • To me , it is a very boring book ,but you wore very charming~

    jajaja...^^"

  • I don't like reading or watching manga and anime which has tons of sex in it - I can put up with a bit (you know, sexual tension) but I think it's wrong to show all these high schoolers having sex, and it just makes me uncomfortable.

  • It's called human nature, We're all the same, male & female of any nationality, everyone has sexual fantasies ans desires that society may consider taboo.

A healthy curiosity about sex is good, as long as it isn't forced upon the unwilling.

Some countries have different levels of what society accepts as normal or permissible. America, the land of the "free" is one of the most restrictive oppressive countries in the world when it comes to sexual information, communication, ideas or expression.

  • I love anime/manga and fantasy too! Though i hate underage kids too its just werid.

  • me too. I dont see the big deal about this video. comic book is comic book. people need sex. haveing sex open new feeling from two people, so sexual comic can open new doors for some ? <(e.e)>

  • i agree. personally it kills the story for me when characters who aren't married are having sex. especially teenage characters who've recently come to the conclusion that they're in love...

some ppl like that kind of thing. not me.

but then again some high schoolers are doing that kind of thing and i still think it's wrong.

  • @genibabii why?

  • I think in japan it's a little more visible that these kind of books exist, but hardly a japan-centric trend. I mean, the twilight series is exceedingly popular right now and that story is not all holding hands and rainbows ^^;

  • When I was growing up u could find those manga everywhere lol. A good bit of my friends moms also collected them lol. This is utube; always guna b people that just want 2 fault or cause trouble :/. If anythin u apologize far 2 much; then again it only shows how modest u are. If anything, in japan, sex (to a point) and nudity is seen different then over say in the USA. ur more likely to see nudity even in cartoons. But not sex as here; But when it comes to showing it in public its far less.

  • Thanks for being brave, covering under covered topics about Japan, and taking the heat. Thanks for the vids!

  • Personally I had never thought of Japanese girls are innocent, and it comes as no surprise after being in Japanese people's circles so to speak. Especially in the asia region (thank you JAV lol), I think white people are beginning to catch on too lol.

Actually within the "Asian circle" (well as I know it anyway), Japanese girls to me seem to be more lewd, crazy or easy as opposed to Taiwanese, Korean and Chinese. But there are definately a few gems to be found, albiet difficult.

  • For me I agree with what you say. Theres no reason for you to apologize for you opinions Hiroko.

  • I dont see the big deal about this video, you are basically just saying that you dont like that type of comic books but there are some people in japan, including girls, who like this kind of manga and you are explaining why you think they might like theses books. Nothing to really argue about, some people really complicate themselves.

I like your videos by the way, I honesly hope you can keep showing us all the different sides of japan.

  • @gwolfie7 Finally, thank you!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just wana say thanks for the vids! I feel sorry for u when people leave a load of comments angrily at u for vids like this > < Lots of us do appreciate them!

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL

Concur. Very interesting place to live...

  • @gwolfie7

I learned something from this video. These type

of manga fulfill specific needs of girls in Japan.

Maybe those who have been exposed to the west

are not as interested in them. I didn't know about

    this manga sub-genre either.

  • Actually, i think this kind of comic book can promote some healthy sex talk. As you said, there are few sources of sexual content socially accepted in Japan. And this kind of veil can create some taboo over the issue. Especially with young people. So, I think more naturally you deal with sex, more healthy it is.

  • unfortuneatley sex has become exploited and things like porn or in this case sexual manga have decencitized young people, to believe that sex is just a casual thing, when really thats not how lightly sex should be treated...

  • YAOI!! <3

  • I'm been in a loving relationship for nearly three years (I'm female, btw) and I still like those types of comics, games, and shows. I don't think it makes me less of a person and I certainly don't think it means I just "need to be loved". I do it because I like reading/playing/watching it. It's interesting, fun, and sexy.

  • Maybe I am wrong after all, even just to bring up these kind of topics in my video.

  • i would like too have a book with your pictures in it =D........ but instead those book are like for adults but for younger groups i guess. those love/drama/trhiller books hehe........ i like books better then stupid tv shows like Desperate Houswife. if you read you can image your own personalty into it... but i dont understand what people sees in hentai stuff lol. little bit strange, its beyond you lol... Greets from the Netherlands/Amsterdam

  • That's a big ass comic book. It would take many days to read.

  • かわいすぎる

  • very interesting. this is not true of all manga though, ne? hiroko san, i was wondering if you knew of any of the "good vs evil" type of comics for girls as hero

  • 超キュートで、色っぽいです^^

  • 1) print media is obviously the slowest thing to catch up.

    2) girls have been repressed, you are out of touch with the new generation and also not representative of the legion of ( below average to ugly ) sexually repressed women who can't live up to unreachable standards that 2d has created in men's minds

    3) it takes two people to have sex, these girls are interested in having sex.

    4) thus they are interested in easy dolphin waxing material.

  • Manga has history that started in 1814. I am sure there all types of storys in Japan . Some are very well done and others that are very bad. That the walk in life. So far I have seen over 370 storys from Japan. Some I like and others I hate.

  • good for you speaking your mind and taking a stand for what you believe in. so many wishy-washy people these days on here ya know? you never have to apoligize for having morals :) thumbs up Hiroko!

  • i suppose what adults do and read is their business, but when kids and sexual content are mixed together.... that is never good. i guess it somewhat shocks me how many people are all for it saying its "freedom" or some bs like that.. sick is sick.... you can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig.... kids and sex content, just dont belong together.

  • btw, did u read the WHOLE book?

  • i read those mangas now and then. altho i usually alternate from real porn with anime porn. anime/hentai has an entertaining story to it while porn is plain sex. i read the mangas for the stories either if it's pornographic or not. never really liked the loli content tho. kind of disturbing O_O

a real girlfriend and a virtual girlfriend, they both provide different kinds of attachment. if the person is happy and no1 is hurt, i believe indulging in such things are ok but to a certain extent.

  • k here is the rundown. Like you said this is a problem mainly because the average Japanese as less interaction ( so less relationships) than other countries. The U.S also has this problem but its harder to find, mainly because its in suburbia not so much the city like in Japan. I don't have a problem with it EXCEPT, what is with the little kids in some manga??? creepy. If you have a good boy friend of girl friend I don't think people would need this sort of thing. Video porn of book both outlets

  • Nice video. I agree with your opinions

  • Romance novels in the US are very, very explicitly sexual sometimes. So I guess all over the world there are girls that enjoy porn in book form. Some people may be lonely.

  • I think the vitual boy friend/girl friend games are cute but they are still just games. I wouldn't use it to replace real love. It sounds like a game I would buy and get bored of pretty fast. i'm bad about buying cute games and then getting bored with them after a few weeks.

  • So what you are saying is this. You don't have problem with these magazines or porn being sold. But it 1) depicts children having sex and 2) it is sold to minors. It would make sense to ban sales to minors if there is an actual connection to the book sales and social or psychological problems among children. I don't believe you can justify moral outrage otherwise. I think you spent too much time in America's Bible belt. Sex good, violence bad. I imagine your boyfriend would agree. LOL

  • @usaverageguy That doesn't sound very nice. It has nothing to do with me spending time in the Bible belt. I didn't fit in there and I don't have same opinions with theirs a lot of times. You are the one who is too quick to judge. I thought you knew better.

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL It is never my intention to insult or hurt your feelings. I like you too much. But you picked the subject and you come across as a bit prudish. I do agree with you that this material is not for children. And I don't like to see children used as models in porn. But I don't see the harm in adults viewing young anime characters. And even though you say you are not offended. The look on your face says otherwise. If I am wrong we should continue this discussion elsewhere.

  • @usaverageguy Ok, the bottom line is, I never ask anyone to agree with me. I don't really care. I'm just picking the topics that usually don't get brought up so people can see the different sides of Japan. that's all. So I could have just shown the book and that would have saved me a lot of judgmental comments. I'm just stating my view and that should be respected just as anyone else's.

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL Hai, Sore wa ii desu yo. Watashi mo

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL I think this topic is really interesting... I have read this sort of Comic before... but they don't have that much substance, so I agree with you about how its not your kind of comic... I like the really Psychological Thriller ones...!!!

  • great video, really! it´s nice to FINALLY see a young girl talking critically about the whole sex topic, i´m really sick of the mindset of today´s girls and boys regarding sex, everyone is dealing way too lighthearted with this issue!

it often makes me wonder whether there´s any shame and dignity left in this god damn sexalised world?!

    thumbs up!!!

  • I remember when I was in Japan waiting for the subway in Ginza, I randomly looked at one these comics and was surprised to see how sexually explicit the content was. In the U.S., this kind of stuff wouldn't be found at your ordinary newspaper stand, let alone be so accessible. I think the animators or creators of these comics seek to find pleasure in things that would be considered taboo by regular society standards. Their art allows them to exhibit their fantasies w/o the risk of punishment.

  • Thank you Hiroko for telling us your opinion :) I think nowadays little by little people is understanding that women arent so different from men. And theyre free to work, make a vlog like you and say what you think and even buy those comic. After all sex is a natural thing and we are all curious about it when the time comes. I also think kids can be confused if we dont guide them, i think using kids for this kind of content is wrong. Thumbs up :)

  • As much as I want to bring up this kind of controversial topic, there's always a risk on my side that people don't understand my point, which is my problem not yours. However, I just want to make One thing clear here. I'm not judging those who read these magazines. I just wanted to show that these magazines exist for female readers, and I myself am not interested in reading one. I don't care if people like it or not, like you said, none of my business.

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL You didn't sound like you're judging anyone... at least to me. :-)

  • @HIROKOCHANNEL That being said, the contents that DO bother me are the ones with these teenagers being raped in school or having sex without any protection, and being excited about it....and just because it's a cartoon, looking cute, there still isn't any problem? I don't think so. "cuteness" can be tricky and being used as a dangerous weapon sometimes.

  • What is the name of the title?

  • She is definitely yaoi fan.

  • Did you ever read Yaoi or Shonen ai?? Just wondering xp

  • answer me this.. i dont understand? are u saying that sexual expression is supressed in Japan ?

  • @jflayva No, it's not. :o

  • @kageromaru she is saying that theres not enough sexual expression in japanese media..although how bout all the pornography that comes out of japan ? is taht available to the public? or is that only for export?

  • @jflayva Not as much as in foreign countries or the internets, producers are foreigners in a big percentage, I guess that's why.

But you can find XXX stuff in many shops. DVD-s and such.

  • nice video : )

  • Okay, nice topic. I live in rural Japan (Yamagata ken) and whenever I go to the combini (usually for pit stops on a road trip) I always see men (older or teenagers) looking at the erotic manga section. (which is right next to the normal fashion mags) So, it's kinda of uncomfortable... because some of the front pages have REALLY graphic pictures. Yeah....

Anyway, I didn't know they had sexual manga for women! That kinda opens my mind more. It's not TOO surprising though. It's human?

  • Here in middle/west europe anime for girls are more like Sailor Moon and similar series.

  • ARE YOU MAD GIRL?why you say virtual girlfriend or real girlfriend only for buy or read a BEAUTIFUL comic book?Miss, the comic industry is real, and it is destined to ENTERTAINMENT, aswell as many real relations are too for simple entertainment although many people don´t want to admit it. Everyone can waste their free time how they want, and what you want to call real or virtual is in your mind, i think is more a virtual relation a fake meet between 2 persons who doesn´t like eachother & pretend

  • Uhuh sure you just picked it up for this video that's what they all say ;)

And I just think Japan just has other means of getting into contact with sex. A lot of dramas talk about sex but in America no sex is shown (maybe in movies) It's just kissing and then they are in bed afterwards. I just think that the medium they use might be different next to the stigma that still lays on comics in the west.

And I get what you mean I don't like the 14 year old supposed to be 18 for the story/legal issue

  • It's because anime characters are Idealistic. At least in my opinion. They have big glittery eyes, perfect bodies and have traits and looks that no one on Earth can achieve. (yea that's a bit of an overstatement but...) People do "fall in love" with these characters, because they can find looks or traits that they can't find in anyone else. That's just my personal opinion anyways.

  • Well as far as the under aged stuff, in all aspects not just anime or manga, I believe is messed up. But as far as people looking at porn, be it manga, anime, or real life photos or videos, I believe is a natural curiosity and not necessarily someone looking for a virtual GF. However there are those few weird people who dwell in the virtual, yea they are just weird. by the way people looking at the stuff in public is just crazy lol.

  • kinokuniya.... here i come.

  • Personally I don't see a problem with sexual content in anime/manga, because it's quite obvious that unlike western cartoons anime/manga is not aimed just at kids, it has a broad spectrum of genres within it like movies etc, and since sex is a very important part of us I don't see why it should be "covered up" and seen as something offensive.

However what I don't agree with as Hiroko said is the fact that the characters often do look way too young, highly unnecessary in my opinion.

  • This is what I think, if any content doesn't directly promote rape, violence, pedophilia or any other illegal activities, it's fine by me.

For example, everyone knows you can kill people in video games, but the crime rates stay the same, because this content is clearly portray as fictional and any other information in regard to real world actions are limited, it doesn't offer reasons to kill and does not offer ways to evade being caught.

If the same can be said about any content, it's fine my me

  • they have to like you first for some guys this is next t o impossible

  • @kageromaru Oh that easy, its just a big bad media conspiracy, ofc... x3 Thank you for that enlightment, lol.

  • @miokitten Try getting into the leaders' circle... you'd be amazed how they launch new and more and more retarded trends. ;)

  • @kageromaru "Leader's circle" lol, with some sort of innitiation rites?

  • @miokitten Haha, no no. At least, not that I know of. But it's just that, a bunch of leaders of X or Y businesses who decide what will happen. It's like those truck "delivery" (uh, you know, those long long truck driving jobs) bosses in Germany, and music industry leaders, aka destroyers of quality music in Japan.

  • @kageromaru And you think there are a few evil figures controlling all of that? ^^; Hm, i work in related business and the marketing ppl i know say, its basically a big gamble. You can try to create trends, read people's minds and we do ofc., but 90% of it just goes to the dustbin. And some unexpected thing goes to the top. What I'm trying to say, it's not really that sneaky "Big Brother" like, that would be to easy. x3
