how much mark do student have to get in the 6 U course from secondary school to apply into university of toronto? someone answear this question please, I really wants to get into university of toronto, i don't wants to go to college.
Cmon, only 20% better as the sheppard line?? The BD line is 6 times as long has different station styles like central platforms, side platforms, stations like, old mill, keele, dundas west that each have their own unique platform level configurations. The bloor viaduct. The secret off tracks to the greenwood line. View of lower bay station when traveling west of yonge.
20%??? More like 1000% Its easily atleast 10 times a better line.
Sheppard stations have unique artwork at each station, landscaping at entrances, and are more spacious than Bloor Danforth line stations. Each station has elevators for the disabled and the tunnels are wider. Plus, Sheppard-Yonge is the only station in the system to have a three platform configuration (though the centre one is not used).
Its still only *5* stations. It has more elevators cuz its newer. I still prefer the older more historic subway system. Wow a 3 platform configuration, (which isnt even in use)? Old mill station easily beats that in coolness of platform design.
I think more was invested in the Sheppard stations and I like that. Bloor Danforth is more historic, but it looks like they went with the cheapest designs possible. Compare its stations to the stations Montreal opened in the 1960s. By 1978 the TTC started to build cooler stations with the Spadina line, hiring individual architects like Arthur Erickson to design the stations. As for the 3 platforms at Sheppard Yonge, it's still a unique configuration that's way ahead of it's time.
The sheppard stations all look cookie cutter generic to me. The same could be said about a lot of the B/D line stations but they atleast use different colors!!! Sheppard line is all the same concrete and purple at every platform. Such a snore.
The tiles are different and so is the artwork. Plus, centre platform is best, because you can keep talking to a friend going in the opposite direction while waiting for the train without shouting. And Sheppard platforms are wider. It's just better in so many ways.
The BD line is more of a no nonsense new york style subway line. Also the whole line was pretty much built at the same time (keele-woodbine 1966/islington-warden 1968) So most of the stations are very similar to the others.
But on the YUS line different sections were built in different eras which gives it a crazy diversity compared to the BD line.
So yea in a nut shell the YUS is more interesting the the BD line. But still you gotta give the BD line its props, its still got its own vibe
Museum was a pretty ugly station, but now with the artifacts it is much nicer! WaterfrtontToronto is working to improve the Union platform. ONe more thing,
I know it does not really have to do weith the subway, but maybe you should have showed the Grand Hall at Union, it is spectacular!
ttc subway is def one of the dirtiest, out-dated and expensive in the world. Shame on u toronto

I guess we'll agree to disagree. You like the modern style, while I prefer the vintage.

Yeah, your right stormscanner, but I didn't have a metro pass, I only had tickets so I couldn't exit the system.

The YUS line is sooo much nicer than the B-D line, in fact, even the Sheppard Line is nicer. The B-D line stations are boring, though kinda nice.

no way man the BD line kills the pitiful sheppard cookie cutter line.
All central platforms how boring.
stides40 2 years ago
The BD line is about 20% nicer than the Shepard Subway, but the YUS line is still the best.

St. Clair West, Dupont and Museum are the best.

I take that back, I meant to say: St. Clair West, Dupont, Museum, Davisville and Rosedale are the best.

Museum and Downsview are the best stations on the line

This music is like a jazzy version of Mozart's second movement of the CLarinet Concerto (K.622); it has the same chords!

Yeah so do I, it is much nicer than the BD Line.

@Subway261994
i'll agree, but i have to detest that this is the case.
Yonge University = Business/tourist corridor
Bloor Danforth = Working class
Bloor Danforth is my favourite of all the lines though
