  • Central Bank of USA created Great Depression , not the Free MArket.

  • these are white ppl feeling what they put upon slaves who didnt have the chance to work at get the fair wages as them i do not feel sad for those ppl in 1930 but we are all even now so when it hits again we will americans in a depression.the first one should not be called depression it should be called pay back for wrong doings lol theres no dpression video for the niggers as they call us are they, with sad background music while the white ppl in those days lived in big homes crackin whips lmao

  • @mrmike803 why everthing about race the big ppl on top don't care about race we live in a world of have and have not.... but when you at the bottom of the food chain you think someone is doing better

  • @kahua33 yeah that comment was like 8 months ago i feel different about that now so dont post my way!! thats old news and i left alot of words out i just noticed so i could barely read that myself...and thankfully i am one of those who have and not the have nots but i feel sorry for those who do not have and are not doing well

  • Powerful and just as relevant as ever.

  • Yep! My parents were young and lived throught this era. I am old now and we are headed down the same path today only it's gonna beworse cause now our Government is in debt and broke.......

  • Where did you get your footage??

  • A TRUE STORY: My 85 year old mother has told me many stories about the great depression. She was one of 13 children (yes, i know, they should not have had that many kids) in depression era Indiana. They slept 3 to a bed, her father (my grandfather) had numerous little businesses going and they "bartered" for food and services. He delivered the mail, was a watchmaker, artist, photographer and radio repairman...all self taught. He would sometimes be paid in eggs, turkeys or other things.

  • Pecks, actually it was the FED policies, easy credit, leverage and eventually margin calls that led the Crash of 29, the Depression actually took another couple of year to work through the economy. With the rise of FDR and his New Deal, he extended the depression over the next decade.

  • I would just like to say that Hoover was not responsible for the depression, Harding was the one that let things get out of hand, just like Bush, Hoover did nothing to try to fix the problem, He thought America could heal on its own, He couldn't have been more wrong! Whoever wins this up coming election is doomed to the same fate as Hoover, I only hope that he can act to bring relief, and not be another Hoover...

  • Right Hoover was not responsible - over production and stock speculation were the main cause. Pres. Hoover could have one more tho..than he did tho.

  • the pic at 1:18 is my grandfather and great grandmother

  • To TYX - when the banks failed my grandmother recieved one cent on a dollar at the time.....most did not do well even in the cities as jobs were lost, and there was no Govt. aid of any kind like today. It was "Hell" l932 was the wost year ........As the song says "Nobody know you when your donw and out"...........

  • Don't hold your breath it's happening again as we watch this ...........

  • this is what is coming to america very soon

  • thats kind of scary what makes you say that?

  • Screw the Great Depression and your liberal economic policies. Had George Bush been President, he would have invaded all the Al Queda countries and given everyone jobs! These dummies were desparate for work? You should have shipped all the illegals out of the country. To the guy below about the suits. The 1970s had much more stylish suits and attire. Even leisure suits. Everything was nice and flashy.
  • 75% is not factual. Nice try on optimism though.

  • Unemployment peaked at 24.9% in 1933. The stock market bottomed in July of 1932 after an 89% decline.

Also of interest, a group of WW1 veterans marched on Wash D.C in the summer of 1932 - seeking cash bonuses they had been promised for their war service. They were evicted by Army forces led by Douglas MacArthur.

  • Don't let this scare you. 75% of U.S. workers kept their jobs through the Depression. People did alright, but with less than usual. Where there's a will, there's a way.

  • you probably dont believe the holacaust ever happened either.

  • Don't believe these idiots. I agree

    with you. During the Depression

there were a lot of rich people and

people that were able to get by.

    They still sold Cadillacs and

Deusenbergs back then. The most expensive

    cars ever

made in the United States of America.

  • Thanks Dave - where there's a will there's a way - no matter what the circumstances.

  • wuut??
