This outstanding series has stayed with me ever since I first saw it back in 1984. By far THE best version of Robin that we are ever likely to see in our lifetime. Michael Praed played the role so well, and the overall authenticity of this series, raised the standard for Robin films, which has never been bettered. Nothing else can compare with this series. All of the episodes with Praed were so well written, especially the first, directed by Ian Sharp. A true masterclass in Robin Hood.
Wow!! Michael P IS the ONE and ONLY Robin Hood, thanks to him I truly believe he really existed. One of the things I mostly liked of the series is that they chose him very
young n charismatic to play the character, not like those other new versions where the actors r in their 30's or 40's... really old.
I love this series, this is better than the new series by a long mile! Is anyone able to upload the episodes or some clips of the episodes with Prince/King John in please???
I loved this when I was in High School and its amazing that it doesn't look as "dated" as I thought it might. Just rediscovered it, gotta get the DVD set now...
Good work. I remember when Michael Pared left - it became burn a peasant village each week and lost it's mysticism and it's way (I'd guess there were behind the cameras changes at the same time). But if I do see the series when he was there on DVD it's a definite buyer.
I so much LOVED this series! I used to watch it when I was a little boy and me and my brother played with bow and arrow in the forest after it. :-D
Only 2 years ago I watched the dvds (1st and 2nd) after about 20 years and I now see more than before how magically and mystically it really was! No doubt: THIS was the ULTIMATE Robin Hood!
Love that trailer. As to jellybelly, heck, if you think Praed as Loxley was 'full of himself, gawd what must you think of old Errol Flynn,eh? Marching around laughing, with his hands on his hips & a cheesy grin! I do tend not to like the Connery episodes as much, I must admit; uneven writing and he didn't convince me.
Utter crap? You must be a fan of that new Robin Hood travesty. If this is what you consider utter crap, I can't possibly imagine what you consider good.

Ok, maybe I do have high standards, but Jason Connery is terrible, he has one expression and one tone, there's no diversity. Michael Praid is eh, but a little full of himself.
I actually prefer the older version, the one without POWERS OF LIGHT AND DARKNESS ARE WITHIN YOU every episode, and less of the sorcery. There isn't much to save this series except for maybe Will Scarlet, Marian, Much, and Gisburne.
Very good trailer, good choice of clips and sounds. However, you have it with wrong format for the screen. The series was never wide-screen, it was shot for the normal 4:3 TV.
If I'd have seen this trailer 20 years ago for the first time It'd have me hooked! The velvet tones of Clannad absent, the music they chose for this trailer worked very well! Great choice of clips. Perfect!

I loved Jonas Armstrong as Robin. My biggest problem with that incarnation was that it was more the Guy of Gisborne show than it was Robin Hood.

waiting to see if there's a whole series release. Been burned too many times.
Looks good, though...

The trailer was shot in 4:3 but when we posted it to YouTube, they stretched it to 16:9 as they do with all of the trailers we post on this site.
