Its not the ammo, its the gun. The LCP uses a light weight titanium firing pin, and your shooting berdan primed ammo. Berdan primers are very hard. Titanium is brittle compared to steel. You may end up with a busted firing pin. I've never heard of it yet, but most people don't know a thing, and just have Ruger repair it.
@rockin870 I can't speak for the LCP but I can say that I tried out this ammo in 380 after hearing people complain about it over and over. I know it dose not work well in beretta 84's, diamondback's and S&W bodyguards. That covers many 380 so what ones dose it work well with? I'm not talking bad about tula ammo because I run it in my AK's and have for years but this 380 is crap in my opinion. I can also say it was the dirtiest ammo I have ever ran.
@esh325 I have been running there 7.62x39 for a long time and love it so I'm not knocking tula but everyone says the 380 is garbage. The only problem I ran into was bad primers and 1 weak load. prchico520 had half a box of tula 380 with bad primers. That has nothing to do with a small pistols. If it runs good for you then great but I'm not messing with it again in 380. I'm not saying your a liar I just didn't have a good experience with it. I don't shoot 380 much anyway. Take care man!
@Glockwork9 The particular firearm might not have enough strength in the hammer to reliability ignite the primer on tula ammo. I don't know if that's the case though. Being a smaller pistol can be a factor for cycling. Less slide mass going back. Stronger or weaker springs to compensate for that some times. I think the .380 ACP was really intended for larger blowback operated firearms.
@esh325 I haven't been firing it for a long time and have only owned one 380 too. Its not my first choice but like the convince of the lcp so I deal with it.
i've shot boxes adn boxes of .45 and .223 tula ammo with no problems. But some of the other calibers i've shot with tula are always really shitty ammo.
@EliteAmericans I have ran a lot of 7.62x39 without a problem. Everyone said it sucks in 380 so I tried a few boxes and wasn't impressed with it. I'm going to try some other calibers and see what happens. I hear good things about it other than the 380. I'll find out soon. Take it easy man!
@Glockwork9 i've shot a few rounds of tula out of a glock 22 and the cases kept expanding or something and getting stuck in the gun and not ejecting. That has not happened with my hi point 45 yet at all, not a single jam.
@EliteAmericans Glock gives room for expansion. I have 40's and 9mm's glocks I'll pick one of each and see how they do. I usually order 1k rounds lawman. I like that stuff a lot. Its nice and hot.
@SupremeAmerican I know what your saying. I know they don't expand much but I feel better having a high quality round compared to something like tula. Only bad experience I have had with tula was the 380 so I'm not knocking it. Its also just a 380 so i'm not looking for devastation but I expect it to go off.
@SupremeAmerican No its not. If it hasn't been so reliable over the last 3 years I would put it in the fag category but it has always ran good. Its nothing but a walk to the mail box gun for me. You know a last resort.
@FireArmsResQ Everyone says its just the 380 auto. prchico had a video where he had half of a box that was bad. It was 380 so I told him I would test mine (I had 2 boxes) and see what happens. It was the nastiest ammo I have ever shot. I buy tula 7.62x39 in bulk and have never had an issue. It is fresher that way and it comes in a white box. I don't know it its any different. I will stay away from the other calibers but I'm running it in ak's. If they won't fire it nothing will.
I've had the nothing but good experences with 7.62x39 and .223 steel case russian ammo, same as you and other commenters here. But i've never wanted to run that stuff through my .40 or .45 pistols, and after seeing this video I don't think I ever will dispite the attractive price. I'll just keep paying a little more for the brass case Federal, UMC and Winchester.
@FixWithFirepower I'm going to spend the extra few bucks on pistol ammo for sure. It seems like the 380 is the worst from what people are saying but I'm just going to stick with what I know works. Take it easy man!
@NiceNineMillimeter My feed ramp and barrel has been polished to a mirror finish. I didn't have any feeding problems at all. I have never tried the 9mm but I'm going to stay away from it.
Tula 7.62x39 is fine. It's Wolf and you get what you expect with them. In a pistol caliber though, it's hit and miss. 9mm shoots fine through my Beretta 92 but my Glock 17 gen 4 won't cycle it well at all, worse than UMC even. Every Tula no matter what shoots dirty as hell so prepare to scrub.
@25xxfrostxx Its not wolf. It says that on there website. I think it was at 1 point. I said everything you did in the description box. I run tula through my ak's without a problem. I do get it in bulk and it comes in a white box. I don't know if its any different. I'm just going to stay away from there pistol ammo. It is some nasty stuff for sure. Thanks!
@Rubyredskin It was the worst experience with pistol ammo I have ever had. I order there 7.62x39 in bulk and it runs great through an ak or sks. It dose come in a white box so I don't know if its different. I don't mess with factory or any kind of reloads unless I know who did them. I order good brass in bulk. It comes out way cheaper that way. You just have to shop around.
@josephd27 I have heard of a lot of mist emotions on this stuff. I'm going to stay away from there pistol ammo. There 7.62x39 runs really good at least it has for me in several ak's and sks's.
@1dabirdman I buy it for my ak and have never had a problem. I have heard a lot of hora stories about there 380 auto ammo so I tried it out and it was really bad to say the least.
@RECONHELLROY I wasn't very happy with it at all. I have bought 7.62X39 in bulk and ran a lot of it without a problem. It has a different box so I really don't know if its different. I'm probably going to stay away from it.
Tula sells at walmart by me for 9.99/50 rds federal goes for 11.99/ 50 rds and Winchester white box 25.00 for 100 rounds. I've used tula .45 9mm and .223 only a few times but never had an issue. I just spend a couple buck more per box on decent brass. You know JSR dont like it when his mag dumps get interupted!!!
you know, come to think of it when we were shooting the SKS that first and half of the second clip was all my tula ammo. We had what, two fails on that stuff?
@LeonRFpoa You didn't read the description. Just messing with you man. I have ran thousands of it through ak's without failure unless I was doing something stupid. It was all the plain white boxes that come when you order in bulk.
I have some Tul-Ammo for my Kahr CM9 that I am goung to try out soon. I dont think I will be picking them off the ground like you tho, my CM9 will hit that primer hard!! From this day forth I will dub you "Ammo Harvester" Yeah someone will steal that name soon!!
@GlockPunisher1 Never had a problem out of any other ammo. Put your Khar GAYM9 up to the challenge. I would rather pick rounds up off the ground then teeth from my khar plying into pieces. lol Ammo Harvester?
its not the ammo, its the fact you have a damn ruger,,,ive never got around to shooting this ammo but i might have to break out the ol hi point and put that ruger to shame LOL
Ive shot alot of tula out of my 45s XD and Sig......no problem worked fine but hated the cloud of smoke in front on me, made it hard to breath....i pay the extra 2 dollars and get federal or a bulk box of remington UMC
@zombiekillerjordan I have never tried it with 9's 40's and 45's but this 380 sucked. Dirty is an understatement. I agree pay the few extra bucks and get something a little better.
@KryptKeeper40 Yea its not a bad thing to have a misfire so you know how to clear it. On top of that it was really dirty. The AK's love it. I'll stick with federal.
in my .45 auto haven't had a problem and i have shot thousands of tula, haven't had really any problems expect what you expect shooting that many rds. maybe ten at most
IMO tula is cheap affordable ammo it works. your gun might be picky like that. But it doesn't bother me any that people are disappointed with tula more for me. lol
@TheOuskie I have never tried it in any other pistol caliber but most of the complaints are about the 380. Its been in different guns too. I run it in my AK's and they love it.

.380 acp tula will function in other firearms. There has to be compromises in reliability with small pistols.
