@Barksy100 Looking forwards to hearing the sound of these "Sotne Roses",.... Oh, and The Stone Roses are back - but you probably know that by now... Cool..!!!
why are people talking about who came first bleh bleh bleh... why don't you talk about the song its self the (BASS IS AMAZING haha!) i mean that is the whole reason you listened to the song.
It's easy to forget the charlatans and push them into the madcester camp im at least to someone in their thirties. This is more than a welcome return, they have progressed and lets hope in another 20 or more years they are remembered. can't stop playing this, good one fellas.. not only have you progressed you have managed to keep the elements that made you great.
everyone always goes that oasis got there sound from the chralies and the stone roses. arent bands allowed to be influenced by bands before them. am sure if you ask the charlies and the rose there sound was influenced by some other bands

Charlatans are my fav band of all time.....seen them live loads. Brilliant act live! How hot is Tim Burgess...................ye ha keep it coming guys!!!!!!!!
Holy, I remember these guys from early club days. They were on the brink of busting out with the stone rose/blur/ manchester crowd until Grunge took over.
I just happened to hear them mentioned on the radio yesterday briefly and thought i'd look them up. Glad I did. This track is really good.
After two decades this band keeps releasing superb albums, each of them as good as the last. Oasis wouldn't exist without The Charlatans. Where the fook are the Sotne Roses?
they all formed after the stone roses ..oasis were mostly influenced by the smiths.....the stone roses was a pivotal point 4 the indie scene...ian brown done too many solo albums....iz laces too tight 4 any 1 too catch him in the lyrics game,.....catch up old cock.....
@boltwared When people talk about Oasis incluences they always mention The Stone Roses and The Smiths but if you listen carefully to Be Here Now you will notice how much they're in debt to The Charlatans
@arcadiankicks the roses were performing together by 1985. 'The Patrol' (ian/john) is the band you are thinking of.. the Charlatans didn't come about until 1988.. the Stone Roses already had 2 EPs out by then. They did support the roses but it wasn't until after Some Friendly (1990) was out....
@Albatrostardust9 Oasis wouldnt exist without the charlatans? what a load of rubbish. Thats like saying the charlatans wouldnt exist without the Byrds.
aw lads youve been missing out ! these are one of the most under rated bands to come out of england! but im glad to hear u found them ! check out tellin stories album, the charlatans the charlatans album n the latest one but there all brill!!!
Dude, I'd never heard of these guys either until before Christmas, in the 90's I listened to most of the Seattle stuff, and this band past me by. In the last few months I've bought all there albums, and they have not once left my car yet!
i dont know who the Sotne Roses are but your bang on...

@boltwared actually that's not right, the charlatans supported on the stone roses first tour as the stone roses, i think.
Before that the stone roses were called something else and had a slightly different line up. The charlatans were doing club gigs before then.
