  • They Can literally DOUBLE the WIDTH of the Train and increase Passenger Capacity ----

I mean they are building all the Tracks ---- Why not make its INTERIOR look Exactly like an Airplane ----- ????

Regular Airplane has 9 Seats in a Row --- with 3 Sets of 3 chairs

  • In China there should be new saying: "Chigga, that how we hower !"

  • it looked like there was part of a bird splattered across the front or back

  • @TheWarlock5822 Might be a child...

  • Interesting, there must be a physical limit in terms of both air pressure and gravitational stuff, bit like a helicopters rotors!?

  • " YEAH , THAT'S GREAT ! ! ! BUT THESE PEOPLE

LIVE ON ( THE PACIFIC RIM ) : " THE GOLDEN

    CIRCLE ! ". NOTORIOUS , FOR SEISMIC ACTIVITY !

    " WHAT HAPPENS , WHEN THERE IS AN EARTHQUAKE ? ;

WHILE TRAVELLING ALONG AT 481 kilometers / hour ? "

  • What a vainglorious Chinese are!!

  • nigger nigger fatass this shit sucks

  • Take off that stupid shirt of Che...

  • yeah you can take off your shirt so I can hug you.

  • One awesome ride. Hard to give enough praise for such a system.

China needs a few more of them but placed in viable locations only. No need to travel that fast in many other situations.!

  • Considering cost effective , conventional rail High Speed Train will be highly preferred!! On April 2007, A French high-speed train (TGV) has smashed the world record for a train on conventional rails by a big margin, reaching 574.8km/h (356mph).

  • japan has a new type of maglev that almost beat the franch TGV but yes the TGV is the fastest train of steal rail train.

  • they use by km/h,, i think the U.S uses miles!

  • maglev trains makes sense in very dense population area like NJ, LA, D.C where mass would move from one location to another in short time. But it cannot extend beyond the distance that it won't make financial and cost effenciency. Like USA shouldn't invent just for amerika itself ,to cost down the cost of parts it is best to share common standard and labor. This way it will help to popularize it worldwide where it needed most. India could take advantage in near future. Or Russia Moscow-St Peters

  • So that's like £2.50? Surley not, I could buy a bar of chocolate for that lol.

  • Yes, that is the price--50 yuan each way; or, 80 yuan for a round trip ticket. I've ridden on the Maglev twice--has to be experienced to get the full effect.

BTW, the price of the tickets would be a luxury expense for many Chinese as 50 yuan would buy a nice meal for two at a mid-level Chinese restaurant.

  • Yeah... and China doesn't have that nasty VAT that you guys in the UK have...

  • nice video guys!!!

  • this is just a excuse for the Chinese to get the technology transferred fr Germany. short distance test track, comparatively lower cost, cutting-edge technology make a very good excuse!

  • ooooh myyy!

this train is incredible, all this great technology, I wish in Italy we has such powerful trains, here they're all talking about our new "fast lines", which in theory should remark a considerable progress and development compared to our old trains, but the fastest of this new category of trains can't reach an upper speed of 360kmh. Pathetic

  • Holy **** $5 to ride this thing?! Thats awesome!

I wish passenger train lines like this should be replace the crappy, slow diesel trains

  • The cost is $7.35

  • FAAAAAAAAAAST!!! Nice...

  • that has to be one fun ride. if only we had one from scotland right down to london.

  • at 7.05 is beautiful sound.

  • Definitely a lot of conflicting attitudes toward the maglev system. It seems those who set up this line miffed off a lot of people by giving them the boot from houses in the way of the line. Good technology is all very nice but we, absolutely, must have good planning to go with it. I'm hoping for the best, the maglev sounds like an effective metro linking system and a cheap commuter solution.

  • yes. its more of a tech-transfer project. Government paid big bucks to actually buy the technology. I am sure there will be more Chinese-made maglev trains in China.

  • The Beijing-Shaghai-HK line would have been amazing, but it got shelved. The transportation system in China is improving, but given the massive volumes (as per "Shanghai 1" video) the Ministry of Transportation still has a looooooong way to go. But really, it's difficult to compare anything in the world to China, maybe with the exception of India, and even then it's a stretch due to cultural differences.

  • @bushangels - putting the 'first world' to shame!

  • @bushangels - putting the 'first world' to shame! and the far east doesn't waste Billions in foreign 'aid' does it??

  • @bushangels 2011 data can be updated here in that regard, 3yrs later.

  • I read yesterday in the news, that they want to extend it to the expo area and to Hongquiao Airport

  • Various extension plans have been proposed. In January 2006, the Shanghai Urban Planning Administrative Bureau proposed an extension to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport via Shanghai South Railway Station and the Expo 2010 site, with a continuation towards Hangzhou. The plan for the extension to Hangzhou was approved by the central government in February 2006, but then shelved earlier this year (May 2007). The most probable project will be to the Hongqiao Airport and the Expo 2010 site.
