The reason this hasn't been invented before is that it wasn't cost-effective enough to manufacture it, otherwise the patents for this have existed for decades.

But now, with the fact that steel manufacturing in India and China has grown, it's easy to make this device. How good it is, remains to be seen. There is a reason most mechanics and builders use manual, 1-piece wrenches made of quality steel.

There is no way a folding wrench, even with a locking mechanism can outdo a normal wrench.

ive met this inventor at the museum of science and industries and ive talked to him about inventions and an invention i had thought of, he explained to never give up and if its already out just see if u can make it better. The select-a-wrench should be out at the en of this year or at the beginging of next.

its not a novelty wrench...surely you wouldnt use it to drop a tranny, or what have you, but it would be a very handy addition to a tooldrawer in the house, or if you had to climb 40 feet to to tighten loose nuts, or to repair something, and you werent sure what size you needed...im an electrician, and homeowner and i can think of plenty of uses for that tool.....its a good one...

No offense, but this seems more like a novelty tool than a "must have in your toolbox" tool. It's just that, from my experience, I want a wrench that is as small as possible, but as long as possible for the area I'm working in (especially in a vehicle), and it just seems too bulky for anything aside from working on a small lawnmower or something simple and open. Still, I hope you keep coming up with tool ideas, and maybe I'll have a few of your tools in my toolbox some day ^_^

@OgameBluejay27 This tool is definitely useful. Obviously it wouldn't be used in those hard to reach areas on a vehicle but it's not designed for that, it's designed to keep the 5 common wrench sizes within arms reach and not sprawled out in your toolbox.
