I think what horrified me about the Jewish mother was the part where she expects the home of Ayat's parents to be demolished. I know she must be enraged at the senselessness of her lovely daughter's death, but Ayat was a big girl;I believe Ayat's mother honestly didn't know what Ayat planned to do. It seemed the Jewish mother was still so grief-stricken, understandably, that she just wanted vengence more than understanding. Perhaps, in time, she will think abt. what Ayat's mom said.
It sounded to me as though Ayat's mother was trying to explain that Palestinians are in a revolutionary war, from their viewpoint, and in war, unfortunately, innocents die. A mother who has had to identify the remains of her precious teen daughter's body isn't going to be very willing to listen to how justified the reasons were for such a brutal killing. Very sad. Amazing how similar the 2 dead girls sounded from what was said in documentary. They had a similar appearance, too.
First of all, the deaths of 2 such beautiful, young teen girls, w/ so much promise, is tragic. The unwillingness of both mothers to even try to understand the other's views abt. this tragedy, multiplied by millions, is why no solution can be brokered.
I don't agree with violence, but I do think Palestinians have very real grievances, living as refugees on their own land. I don't agree w/ how Ayat tried to bring attention to inequities.
Just got done watching this movie, and what a sad failure in dialogue between victims. Not trying to be a turd, but fucking sad!
the cultural message for anyone who missed it is the situation is pathetic, and the moral message was I believe Stop blowing yourselves up, there are more beneficial means?
I had to walk away when they started yelling at each other
......torture reached a point of no return and died for a cause, SADLY she did the stupid mistake of sacrificing herself together with other Innocent victims instead of turning her hatred against more important and vicious people... but on the other hand, im thinking how could a young arab girl be able to come in touch with people like rothschild sharon or dershowitz to take with to her grave?
@loushy i think your an ignorant moron........ all Abigail wanted was for that piss to admit that what her daughter did was wrong.... that.... no matter the circumstances... to kill an innocent girl for their "cause" was nothing more than cold-blooded murder... Rachel Levy had nothing to do with the "plight" of the Palestinian people..... go punch yourself in the face
@wolfatnight you're the ignorant moron... all israelis live in occupied land as nazi soldiers did all over europe in the 40s... as long as they keep occupying someone's else land and treating them like dangerous animals they must be prepared for the consequences... no one felt sorry for nazis who were killed by partisans and other resistance groups... of course i dont support the murder of israeli citizens but it seems that peace means only peace for israelis and vile conditions for palestinians
@BornToDie90 and THAT verbal diarrhea justifies the death of this young girl who was simply out shopping? Tell me, sir, did Rachel Levy have ANYTHING to do with the history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, or did it begin LONG before she was born? Did she know of the Nazi's "plight" ( as you seem to imply justifying the holocaust - which is further proof that, although you are articulate, you are obviously a sick person)? Should Rachel Levy be convicted of the crimes against all Muslims?
@wolfatnight my comment on the nazis was not to justify their actions it was a parallelism to prove that like nazis occupied lands as do the israelis... i hate nazis as much as i hate zionists, not more not less... and rachel levy was a victim of israeli violence,as much as palestinian violence, for palestinian violence is the reaction to the action ( action being the genocide conducted by vile zionists)... but lest we forget Ayat, the other VICTIM, who after seeing her people's unjustified...
@BornToDie90 you are ONE SICK MOTHERFUCKER. I hope you get the help that you so desperately need before you burn in the pits of hell next to your Nazi friends. Sounds like you have the disease of anti-semitism..... while no doubt there has been atrocities committed on both sides of the palestinian/Isreali conflict, there can be no justifying the murder of Rachel Levy, unless of course, your an anti-semitic, nazi-loving douchebag, and before you accuse me of zionism... im a practicing Pagan...
@wolfatnight Pagan ahahahahahahahahahahahh what a douche! anyway anyone who supports israel is a zionist and yeah pretty much you're an idiot since i stated my hatred for nazis you still call me one, so you're both an idiot and a stupid victim of israeli propaganda who accuses of antisemitism those who dare to speak the truth about the cancer that is israel and zionists... may you join your zionist bitches in the grave they will dig for themselves through their evil ways...
@BornToDie90 your efforts to hide your intolerance of other religions are in vein. You would command more respect if you just stood up and announced yourself as the self-loathing, Nazi-sympathizing, terrorist supporting, bloodsucking leach that you are. Apparently you have a HUGE problem with those whose religions differ from your own (or lack thereof). My guess is that you didn't get enough hugs as a child. A shame that your mother wasn't more into anal sex. She could have spared us....
@wolfatnight im not even religious= fail, i was raised a christian i support muslims= fail, my mother loves me very much so=fail, i hate nazis= fail, your attempt at propaganda=fail, your religion= fail, your existance= fail
With much sadness, I watched this documentary in full today, and I was pleased to see that it wasn't as biased towards the Israeli victim as I initially worried. However, it did reiterate the fact that even the Israelis, with the Palestinians under their thumb, between their check points and illegal settlements, still have no clue, as the average American viewer as to what these occupation conditions are. Therefore, this film alone will not shed a light on the answers she, or anyone else, seeks.
I watched the movie. I don't understand how the parent of Ayat can say that they are restricted when her daughter was able to freely go to a supermarket in Jerusalem, with a bomb and kill someone. Could this possibly be the reason they have restrictions? Was their home ever destroyed? It is a very sad story for everyone involved.
The filmmaker said that she met the man who planned the bombing and drove Ayat to the supermarket. I'm guessing this is not something she (Ayat) was allowed to do and they had to get by a lot to get there. If you watch the women prisoners in the film, a few of them get caught on their way to bombings and get arrested. The restrictions in Israel and Palestine are on both sides...did you watch how hard it was for the film crew to get into Palestinian territory?
@OldMcDonald07 This exactly what I meant with a previous post that it won't make sense to you because you have no idea what conditions they live in. The daughter's ability to sneak in illegally, thus risking imprisonment, isn't something the average Palestinian can pull. Most Palestinians are restricted in their movement by a network of checkpoints. See the documentary "Land And The People" to better understand the pre-2001 conditions to have a better understanding.
@hawasawayahawa I was only asking a question in response to the information provided to me in the program. You're right, I have no idea the conditions "they" live in. I do not believe in murder and in my beliefs, that is what Ayat did. She murdered. As I stated previously, it is a very sad story for everyone involved.
ayat al akhras was opressed, zionists took her land her people, killed and torture palestinians... i dont blame her for that.. sorry for the 17 yrs old jewish girl, shit happens, but shit happens for jews only once a month or once in 6 months!!! zionists kill palestinians everyday, everyday a palestinian kid under the age of 15 gets killed!!
is that ok? is palestinian blood that cheap! reconsider ur thoughts!!
This is a very serious documentry, and on both sides the mother's did want what's best for there daughters and most would point out that the guilty party is the young girl who set off the bomb, but you have to really watch it and understand it. I think the Muslim women should've given the Israeli women a chance to understand her, the Israeli mother had a point at trying to work at peace between two cultures, not only about religion and race but as women and mothers. I wish them both peace.
@OrlyYahalom Yes, she wanted to meet the other mother to scorn her, not to understand. If you paid a good attention, in this film, the mother was questioning why the house of the family of suicide bomber wasn't going to be demolished, a form of collective punishment the Israelis have become accustomed and used to see being exacted on the Palestinians (buldozing homes, destroying entire farms and neighborhoods)
I agree with you. She didn't really want to know "WHY". Abigail just wanted to talk and not really listen. I was amazed about how clear minded was Ayat's mother. Suffering for the death and the acts of her daughter but still stoic.
I feel bad for the Jewish girls mom.. her daughter did not deserve to die she was just innocently shopping.. Now for ayat i see where she was coming from.. but honestly what did the killing of one girl do? she didnt get shit out of it.. why didnt she just go to the soliders or perhaps where Sharon stays and bomb that place.. now that would have made a difference. Her suicide bombing really didnt do anything..but that just shows how much one girl is dedicated to her country
ALLAHSSATANSPAWN.. UR A COCK SUCKER.. U ARE AN IDIOT AND DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT UR TALKEN ABOUT BITCH..them dem jews came to our land motherfucker.. and they are tying to take over killing innocent palestinians.. they came to palestine running away from Hitler who was burning those bitches alive.. and u'd think since that happend to them they wouldnt be doing the things they to Palestinians.. get ur facts str8 before u say anything Loser
You need to invest in a dictionary. Don't you know any other words besides "idiot" "cock sucker" "bitch" "motherfucker" "bitches" ?? It makes you look really sad and uneducated.

@coolnerdie That is because the Palestinians, during those times, and even today, are constantly arbitrary target for assassinations, from air.
