Yes. If I recall correctly, they also come with usb dongle for use as a really fast external, like OHQ said -not full on SSD, but for swift transfers nonetheless The connection and size of this device enables you to plug it in to your pc or laptop and depending upon how you format it, you could -say remove it from your macbook pro and plug it in to your PC.
@wwallender mmm no I think you are an idiot.....maybe you should watch the whole video before spouting idiotic drivel. It is a hybrid drive! Yes it is a spin up 7200rpm drive BUT it has 4 GB of Nand Flash (AKA SSD) storage. I Never once said this is just an SSD so before you call some one an idiot get your facts straight because it just make you look stupid.
hey nice review i would like to know since i have a laptop and i am going to change the hard drive i got in there for an ssd, if there is a way of cloning everything (files + operating system) without having to buy a operating system cd (like windows 7) and install everything back on the ssd? please let me know
Great review. Thanks for not posting a 40 second video of your computer and calling it a review. I was on the fence as to whether to get a SSD + Optibay for my macbook pro, but because this drive is only $99 and performs comparably I think I'm gonna go with it.
hey bro nice review wondering if you know anything about the silver stone hdd boost ssd harddrive optimizer i got one free with a crucial m225 128gb ssd and wondering what exactly the benifit is or id be better off just installing just thee ssd and my caviar black seperatly as storage
@cisco760ca I had 2 blacks go bad on me right out of the box. Only drives I have never had issue with were Hitachi drives but they are nothing special as far as features go. The momentus drive is super quiet probably because the ssd does a lot of the grunt work.
@OverclockersHQ Funny, I had almost the exact same experience. TWO WD 1TB Caviar Blacks died on me within a few days of installation. So much for "enterprise" solution...
My WD 2TB "Green" never given a single issue.
Never had an issue with an Hitachi drive and I've had them in all my laptop's till now. Replaced by Momentus XT... Best technology to come along since i7! VERY near "true" SSD performance for a fraction of the cost for a decent capacity. Thumbs up for this review, thanks!
@folken692000 thanks for the thumbs up! Yeah it is a pretty awesome drive. Check out the channel if you haven't subbed we have hundreds of unboxings and reviews.
Thanks for the damn good review man. Was looking for a comparison between hybrids and HDDs and your review answered my questions.

quick question, it's basically cheaper to buy drives like this and put them in drive docks than to buy a bunch of external hard drives right?
