It's not that simple. The US and all western countries have approved Israels status as a country back in 1949. The first landscapes were indeed bought but later on other parts just got annexed (as far as I remember).

It is very difficult to find a solution to satisfy both fractions and I think there will never be a decent one both sides will accept.
