A very underestimated Beatles track but it is one of the best tracks they ever made in my opinion. Still sends shivers down my spine with the backing and harmony. I think it should have been released as a single as it would, have of course gone to No 1. Then most of their album tracks would have too!! :-)
@critch1901 I agree, but what about "Wait". Or "In my life"? Incredible songs! There is something about this album that is the most serious of all their work. Really personal statements. In Revolver many of their themes become markedly confused. By Sgt. Pepper they were tripping all the time and just playing around with all the new technology.
@49kasey . Yes I totally agree they are all incredible, especially "In my Life" another personal favourite of mine. Have you seen the "Let it be" Video? You can sense the tension between the band but the music makes up for it, Especially the rooftop gig on top of the Apple building!
@critch1901 I don't think I saw that video, maybe bits and pieces but so was my mind (lol) but I remember the rooftop "Revolution" bit.
But with Rubber Soul... in retrospect I'd say that here they were at their peak as The Beatles... the band we grew up with and loved. Then LSD changed everything. There was all this incredible stuff coming out and the Beatles became old hat, even though they set the stage for the whole movement with Revolver and Strawberry Fields Forever.
