  • No problem but can you be a bit more specific please.. And I'll do it with pleasure.

i.e. what bar number, on what chord or what is the elapsed timestamp ?

  • Can you please make a video on how you do that tripplet picking at the beginning on hula blues???

  • Great playing! What kind of guitar is that?

  • Which one ? the acoustic one is a Bristolian "Basil Henriques" model ..Google bristolian or hollowneck for more info on the 3/4 size Weissenborn.

The Lap steel is a Harbour Lights BH Model made in the USA by Harry Sheppard and the pedal guitar is a Fender 1000 made for me by Fender in 1964.

  • @basilhenriques Hi Basil, I was referring to the acoustic. Thanks for answering.

  • Hey Basil, great playing man. Love all of those songs.

Did you learn Carefree by ear (I can't seem to de so) or do you have a tab. If so, I would very much appreciate it if you emailed me. Mahalo nui.

  • @WiliamatheMusician Thanks (Mahalo Nui) William, the tab of 'Carefree' was in the first Issue of "Aloha Dream" Magazine. There are a lot of my tabs on the European Steel Guitar Forum.. Google it..

  • The "Non-Pedal Tablature **Post Here**" section of the American Steel Guitar Forum has a 'Clickable' list of some of my tabs.

Also, I'll find carefree in the Aloha Dream archive and post that there also, maybe later tonight..

  • Wonderful playing and great tone.

  • @Kikalani Mahalo Nui, I'm equally impressed with the work of yourself and Deb..

  • (Sorry but the system doesn't allow hypertext markup language, just google the names)

  • Basil, what tuning is the hollowneck tuned to? Can it be tuned to c6? Thanks

  • Thanks for the comment and also for asking about the tuning. In the clip it's tuned to E6th, from the top down = E - C# - B - G# - E - C# (Sometimes D)

  • Basil your playing amazes me. By the way, nice guitar.

  • Hula Blues played on a Chris Drew "Bristolian" 3/4 size Weissenborn, then Carefree at 2:58 played on a Harry Sheppard "Harbour Lights" Guitar, followed by Sand at 5:32 on my 1963 Fender 1000 (The one all my Abbey Road Recordings were done on.

Click any of the times above to go straight to the tune.

  • Great playing as always and that goes for the both of you.

John D. is selling a car trailer at the moment.

Might just be the solution to bring ALL your guitars AND Pat's wardrobe next time :-)

Hope I can be there as well next year...
