  • Slow shifting geez

  • I don't know. It's a really nice quick every day car. Definitely lets me pass people on the road with ease.

  • It sounds like coins dropping into a machine when you did the first shift lol

  • people are you kidding you are ripping on the 4cyl tc saying your 6 and 8 cyl cars will beat it... no shit idiots lol its not a sports car its a nice little quick every day car..i have a 2011 tc and a 72 mustang 302 2v v8... they are both fun to drive thata all that matters.. and not to mention it does good for a 2.5L 4cyl it tops out at 134 stock...which is not bad for something that costs about 19g's and is cheap on insurance unlike a sports car.

  • I don't understand!

I have 2003 Corolla le and it has 132 hp and I think it does the same 0 to 60 or maybe even faster!

This car should be faster looking at its hp...

  • Slow shifting, you can do better

  • Ok people I said in the video that this car is not fast. It does have potential though. I have done alot of work to the tc since this video but it's just my daily so it's still not fast so you all can sit there and talk about how your n/a 3000gt and cobras can out run me I will simply reply with you can out run this tc but I doubt you can outrun me.

  • @Lasttyrant08 Well anyone who has a cobra and says it can outrun is wasting their breathe. Seriously, a V8 putting out more power than a L4? Wow, didn't expect that!!

  • @Lasttyrant08 how do you know someone cant out run you?

  • @admiraljimmy

I just did a 0-60 of my 2011 tC and got 6.1 secs with wheel spin in first. These cars have a lot of potential..

  • These aren't too bad, it's a damn nice looking car but not the fastest. I was thinking about trading my camry hybrid in for one, but I am having second thoughts now.

  • @Epson5000 you thought it'd be faster?

  • @cruizin85 yeah I did haha, but I've decided next car I'm going to trade is an E46 m3

  • hey tegra u wanna buy me that turbo kit too haha jk jk

  • The engine sounds too quiet and lazy, its also not very quick for 180 hp and 2.5L displacement. IDK Toyota should really develop a turbo engine for the tC instead of just cutting cost and putting a stupid Camry engine in it.

  • @tegra01ls to be honest it's fast enough I've ran with mid 90s cobras and the new rs camaros of coarse my tc2 isn't stock anymore but it's power to weight and the car can show it and i raced lots of car in my old 05 tc and didn't even come close to winning in alot of races but the tc2 has really picked up in both the performance and styling I'm just waiting or the ft-86 really that's the car to have

  • what mods do you have on your car?

  • @Tegra01LS I have full 3" custom exhaust a Trd Cai 4 2 1 race header and a nice tune just about to order the decendant turbo kit

  • @Lasttyrant08 where did u find the intake a headers from trd! i've been looking around everywhere for one!

  • @Lasttyrant08

    WAIT FOR THE GREDDY!!!

  • @Lasttyrant08

You'd be lucky to keep up with my 180k mile 3000gt non turbo.

  • @coupe3kgt trololol

  • @Slayrxx

How is that trolling I got 222hp stock and you got what 180?

  • @coupe3kgt its a trolololo because its a video of just a speedometer of a scion going 0-60 and no my fine sir i have a 98 corola with god knows what hp lol

  • @coupe3kgt dude your car weighs over 3000lb. His tC has a better power to weight ratio

  • @coupe3kgt and you'd be lucky to get a girl in a 3000gt non turbo with 180k miles.

  • @RayZirxy HAHAHAHA sick

  • @coupe3kgt or my 600hp 300zx lol, vid for proof of spinning tires =P

  • @Lasttyrant08 about how many HP did u get in total?

  • @Lasttyrant08 its the driver not the car

  • @06tCmF Trust me, its the car. No matter how much harder someone tried, you wouldn't get any more than half a second, to a second faster.

  • @robbie1490 No, it's the driver. MotorTrend got 6.5 sec 0-60.

  • @unresolved777 weird, on most other sites i'm seeing a steady number of 7.4 seconds for 0-60 :\

  • @robbie1490 This guy got a 6.7X At least that's what he said his counter timed.

    /watch?v=QhsEvv3WJtQ

  • @Lasttyrant08 No with a stock 60 time of 7.8 seconds you're not running with anything like foxbody cobras(even stock slow ass 5.0 foxbodies are faster than that) or New RS v6 camaro's, it's not power to weight for that car at all, that car weighs about 3100lbs. has no torque and 180HP that's a power to weight ratio of 1HP for 17lbs(rounded down) With Exhaust, CAI and a tune you probably hit 60 in 7 seconds and run high to mid 15 second 1/4 miles which is piss slow.

  • @Lasttyrant08 being that you don't know the difference between coarse and course* and the probability of you having a room temperature iq, you and your slow tc can't even outrun a city bus.

  • @Lasttyrant08

    BS.

Please post a video of you against the mid 90's Cobra, which ran 13's in the 1/4 STOCK. You either raced a V6, or a GT badged as a Cobra with a crap driver. The new RS V6 Camaro would toast your tC as well.

Bottom line, if you aren't FI or running nitrous, you aren't coming remotely close to the vehicles you mentioned above. You either raced someone who can't drive, or wasn't paying attention, or you are full of it.

  • @Lasttyrant08 ....mid 90's cobras(96-98)....320hp over 3300lbs with 300 ft lbs of torque?....vs 180hp over 3100lbs with 173 ft lbs of torque?....i dont think so, that tc would have to have a big turbo or be a very modded N/A motor....and then it would be pretty close...but would have to atleast put out about 290hp to the crank to kinda hang...with a STOCK cobra....

  • Yea the tc2 isnt all the fast, its more economy than sport IMO. But seeing videos and reading magazines and seeing what ppl have accomplished so far with it, it seems like it has potential! Si 's are way to common now, yeah they are great but everyone has one, i bought the tc because it was different, whether ppl think the car is ugly or not, i still get ppl sticking their head out the window like whoa what car is that!

  • @neptronix honestly I wanted something else I really wanted the Camaro ss they had there but for the price of the tc I couldn't refuse and the turbo kit already available for the vehicle at $4590 it will beef the motor to over 330hp I cant complain that's still les then what I would pay for a Si

  • I test drove a TC back in '08 when i had a 95 acura integra LS. Despite having 0.6L more displacement, i was very disappointed to see that the TC wasn't any faster than my car!!

It sucks that the '11 engine is still lackluster. I'd take it over the torqueless Civic SI.. but i'd rather have something else.

  • I have a TC2 and i'll admit that it really isnt that fast. Everyone was joking on me because i got a TC and not an Si like my brother. I decided to race my bro's 09 Si and we were neck and neck the whole race 0-90 we did it three times and same results! So dont get gassed up because the si isnt that much faster than the tc anymore! And he has coldair and exhaust(even tho not much power is added with that but still it counts)...Imma post a video really soon!

  • And to be honest a g35 isn't that fast my mother in law has one and the difference is top end

  • To be honest I bought a new tc because my payments were cheaper I traded my 2005 rx8 for it and I prefer four cylinders over six for the reason they are easier to upgrade not really needed for me since my other car is a trans am and a 2005 isn't exactly new or close to it that six years that's the difference in a 95 and 01 huge difference

  • And before u say well my Si can smoke the shit out of your tc I'm just going to say this is my DAily you think your a big shot come run my real car and well see how well that 2.0 vtech runs against an ls1

  • I knew I would get some Honda faggot in here first off I can chirp second and third and if ur shifting right u won't chirp it's called double clutching take ur piece o shit Honda and try and race with the big boys cause u last if ur racing real cars

  • @darktyrant08

LOL you didnt even reply correctly. It doesn't notify me unless you hit reply on the comment... Good job. Look I didn't mean to hate I'm just disappointed in the redesign of this car. I loved the first gen but I feel like Toyota was lazy with this new one, the styling looks better but the interior got cheap looking and i was hoping they would use an actual high performance engine since this cars main competition is the Si.

  • @xoquixxoqafxo i was on my phone cant reply on there and regardless of what toyota came out with for a second gen they did do there upgrades i know i out ran a first gen with mods pretty easily and the tc is made for customization it doesnt even have a engine cover so if you have an issue with the design and performance with the tc2 take it up with toyota not me and the performance engine is going to be released in the fd-86

  • Did you purposely not try to chirp 2nd gear or is this car just soo weak that it doesn't have enough power to chirp 2nd? An Si will chirp 2nd and 3rd if you are really good at shifting. I'm disappointed in the acceleration of this new tC, not surprised that Toyota ruined this car for 2011 tho, the cheap interior scares me away already.

  • Yes

  • its a manual

  • I had a k20 Si and I paid over 20k for it used and it wasn't much faster the appearance of the car to me for the money you pay isnt worth it and performance they are only pulling 205hp where my car is pulling 180hp and u will only pull on me because of Vtech and I know I hung with my friends rsx type s and for the record I paid nineteen for mine and got 14000 trade in for my 05 tc so I doubt your resale is much better

  • i would still stick with the honda civic si which offers more style, performance and better resale value.

  • What do you mean?

  • Why 6 speed if its so slow??

  • Sounds about right but that was a bad run I should have a better one up soon

  • 7.6seconds

  • Yes it does handle amazing I didn't do to well in this video I granny shifted first and over missed third but surprising thing is that even with the six speed it has the same gearing as the five

  • Slightly about 20hp increase to the wheels and it went from a 2.4l five speed to a 2.5l six speed

  • A slight boost in power only about 20hp to the wheels the 05-10 has a 2.4 the 2011 has a 2.5 and it went from a five speed to a six

  • is there a big power difference between the 2011 and the 05-10 models?

  • @xxxjake53 not a big power difference, but definitely better handling i.m.o. six flags did a ride-and-drive special with these cars and i had the opportunity to drive one. very touchy gas pedal, a lot more than the older models. despite only a 20hp increase, this thing wants to GO. trust me. 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds.
