  • WITH THE ORIGINAL LYRICS, THE SONG WAS NOT DARK AT ALL, IT WAS ABOUT SEX

PAUL THOUGHT OF GREEK MYTHOLOGY IN TERMS OF GREEK GODS, THERE'S APOLLO, ZEUS, GOD OF SEA, NEPTUNE, AND GOD OF THUNDER IS ME (PAUL STANLEY)

SOME OF THE ORIGINAL LYRICS THAT WERE CHANGED FOR GENE'S CHARACTER WERE

"DAUGHTER OF APHRODITE, WE MAKE LOVE 'TIL WE'RE PLEASED"

"I WAS RAISED BY THE WOMEN, I LIVE FOR PLEASURE AND FUN"

  • yeah demo version thats cool

  • Lol its Paul singing thats fucking awesome but i think when Gene sings it its better but awesome vid man

  • Yay you used them demo version :D

  • dude this version is awesome with paul singing.

  • lol i know this is a demo version of the song, but, this version with Paul Stanley as vocals, it really sorta shows the differences betweeen him and Gene Simmons, Paul is more of a pop/glam rock sorta person, where as Gene is a hard rock/grunge sorta guy.

  • it's only "homoerotic" , if you're a "homo", son...

  • lol

  • i think 1infamy likes the homoerotic lol since he just HADD to put it that way,he was intimidated by the muscles and the long shafts that would sink into his poor lonely boy lover soul lol!! u know he wanted to be a boy taken by a spartan bak then ,it wasnt only the athens guys doing that hehe.Look out infamy he comes a muscle man for uuuu

  • 300 was largely lame, they tried passing off alot of foolish myths and innacuracies that were disproven about the spartans.

Then good god almighty was the whole movie very homoerotic, especially most of the fights. lol

  • cool

  • Im personally glad kiss chose the other version for the album

  • I think KISS should have included Paul's version on DESTROYER!!!

  • nah, genes version is more badass

  • indeed

  • Umm, yes, it is.

    Its an early demo version..

  • indeed. the drummings pretty sweet in this.

  • believe it or not, paul did everything on this song from what i know. the guitars, the bass, the drums, the vocals. all of it.

  • woopty doo... its only a very basic song.... its amateur compared to their songs in the 80's to 90's

  • while it may be basic, its just the demo for the real song. and yes that is true. but it is also true that the 70s rock is a big step for rock and it lead to the 80s rock.

  • You think their songs in the 80s and 90s... were good?? Creatures of the Night and Revenge were really the only good albums from that time period.

  • Im not saying their songs were good in the 80's, but they were more technical with the lyrics and guitar style, I think most of Paul's work was good all the way through to this present day, Gene sucked all through the 80's, got good in Revenge, and went downhill again after that

  • You dumb fuck! Do you realize Paul originally wrote the song? This is the demo version. You can get it with the KISS box-set.

  • @s4gichnicht its Paul instead of Gene

  • @s4gichnicht It is by KISS, you dumb shit...

  • Where is the part the bearded guy get's humbled??

  • I think that this version is better.

  • i think this is better when paul sings it :D

  • this is the "demo" that stanley made, but Bob Ezrin though that simmons could be this song better... and thats truth!

  • This is the original. Wow. I still like Gene's better. Funny thing is, Paul wrote this about himself. Ha.

  • really i thought simmons wrote it :(

  • he did idk wtf people are talkingabout

  • lawl

  • Wrong; Paul wrote the song. When Bob Ezrin heard it, during the "Destroyer" sessions, he first suggested to slow the song down, then handed vocal duties of the song, over to Gene. Back then, the producer had the final say between Gene and Paul. So, as much as fans would like to think that the song was written by Gene, it was not. Although, it is definitely one of Gene's top, if not his #1 signature song. What you're listening to, is Paul's demo.

  • you are correct sir

  • Paul was rather pissed at the time that happened, too.

  • at 0:35 it looks like the spartan guy is singing the song, lol, btw this version rox! 5/5

  • He is singing it.

  • i like symphony as well....

  • this the demo of god of thunder from '76, not the album one

  • Wierd but also cool to hear Paul sing this song.

I like it better when Gene sings it tho :) .

But this is nice to hear for a Die Hard Kiss fan as me :) .

  • KISS'S 76 version of the song is great. Gene's vocals are heavy!

  • this is cool but if you put a live version of the song to it it would be even cooler

  • Great vocals by Paul Stanley. Paul is the best rock singer ever. A cool version of the song. If it wasn't for the little chorus bits it would rock as hard as the version sang by Gene.

  • How did you get this version??

  • box set

  • in my opinion the Symphony Alive IV is best but it didnt seem like it would go rigth to the video

  • Song: Great !

In both versions, but OK: If I`m honest: Great that the DESTROYER-Version is like it is !

  • This is the demo version of the song. Paul originally wrote it for himself, but then their manager or something decided that Gene should sing it.
