This video is full of outright lies. eg. Neanderthals were just plain people? Oh really? Plain people with thicker bones, larger brain cases, pronounced brow ridges, sloping foreheads, flatter skulls and no chins? Oh and their DNA is not human either. Just plain ordinary humans, huh? When will the church quit lying to itself.
Bacteria evolved from simple, single-celled structures that "ate" through simple chemical reactions and the basic concepts of thermodynamics. Look up the user "cdk007" for an in-depth explanation of this.
Bacteria evolved from simple self replicating molecules. The earth has been filled with simple chemical compounds since it formed it was never a question as to whether a self replicating molecule would ever spontaneously develop but when. The Earth was lifeless for billions of years until billions of molecules bumping around in the primordial soup eventually accidentally combined to form at least one molecule that had the distinct property of self replication.
All you need is one replicating molecule and evolution does the rest. It is impossible for anything to replicate itself perfectly, so any copy of itself that was not as good as its "parent" molecule would end up being less plentiful in the molecule population, and vice versa.
i can't stand religious propaganda like this. It seems to be more concerned with desperately reassuring creationist twits that they are correct rather than providing a founded argument against evolution. I'll lay it out nice and simple for all you creationists. WE HAVE WATCHED BACTERIA EVOLVE IN LABORATORY CONDITIONS. Bacteria generations are very short so we can watch the progression of thousands of generations and see considerable genetic change in response to the environment.
I cant stand it either, it really pisses me off. Religion acts like a social retardant, it makes people beleive in stupid things. Relize how they attack the credability of evolution by saying we have no missing link and no evidence for evolution. Then say that all the fossils were just apes or humans with syphilis then profide no evidence for that claim lol

we might be fools and liars but if that means using commen sence is foolish then I'm a fool. I'm sorry that i don't believe in a book that has been modified 1000x so it would fit the current popes wishes. or purgatory a thing invented in a midieval play that fitted the churches hunger for gold. try to explain how believing in something from a play,(or modern movie) can be right. if saying the force is with you would give the church money tomorrow they'd do it.
Of the hominid transitional sequence, you picked the most ape-like (A. afarensis) and the most human-like (H. heidelbergensis and H. neanderthalensis) and ignored the ones in the middle. Typical creationist deception. Is that what Jesus would do?
Most notably, have a look at the nearly complete H. ergaster skeleton KNM WT 15000. There's a 3D model of its skull at Human Ancestors Hall (google it).
If that's a bit too human for you, check out KNM ER 3733, H. habilis.
Tell me creationist, where does the ape end and the human begin?
Only a creationist would bring up a tooth from the 1920's that never passed peer-review. 'Nebraska man' does not and has never had any significance in the scientific community.
But I'm glad you mentioned piltdown man. Originally it was assumed to be genuine but suspicion arose when it didn't fit in with the abundance of hominid fossils being found in Africa. When radionuclide dating was developed, scientists dated various parts of the fossil and discovered the hoax.
Claim #3: Heidelberg man (Homo heidelbergensis) is just an ordinary human.
Nope. Average cranial capacity is lower and they exhibit thick brow ridges. But they are indeed very close to modern humans. Understandable since they lived only ~500-300 thousand years ago.
I noticed you picked one on the extreme ape side (A. afarensis) and one on the extreme human side (H. heidelbergensis) and ignored the ones in the middle. Typical.
Claim #2: Neanderthals (Homo neanderthalensis) were just plain humans.
Wrong again. Analysis of neanderthal DNA has shown them to be a distinct species from modern humans.
Their morphological differences also cannot be attributed to any diseases such as rickets, despite wild creationist assertions. Just because rev. hovind says so doesn't mean it is so.
Claim #1: Australopithecus afarensis was an ordinary ape.
Wrong. The bowl shape of the pelvis is very human-like and adapted for bipedal locomotion. Compare it to that of a chimpanzee and you will see the obvious difference.
Also, the femur was curved inward which is also important for bipedalism.
Unfortunately, these videos are a joke. A whole series of bad, misunderstood, misquoted, "faux-science" videos, produced by a bunch of people with an agenda to brainwash children around the country.
Propoganda, nothign more, nothing less, in a battle being waged across America by a christian majority who feel they're "losing control."
Yeah. I used to think it was just ignorance but I've debunked these videos over and over and they just keep uploading them. Obviously they have an agenda and don't care about facts.
Ignoring facts is a prerequisite for being a creationist.
Scientists don't say anything about a "missing link", it's a lie created by creationists to make it look like human evolution is unclear, and it certainly isn't.
ok i have a question. if we evolved from apes and there are all these different forms of apes until they begin to look like us. then y arent there still those in between forms? y is there only a beginning form (ape) and an ending form (Man)? there is no middle?
In simplest terms, they died out. Our closest relative it is believed was Neanderthal man, who shared a common ancestor with us, homo sapiens, but became extinct at the time H. Sapiens flourished. It's the same reason giant pandas might disappear. Different version of a bear, evolved to survive in a particular niche, but now may become extinct as its environment is under threat. Many species don't survive, some do. H sapiens did, perhaps pandas won't.
There are plenty of fossils and bones/skulls surviving of the various humanoids that didn't make it. Check out the vids of potholer54, particularly Human Evolution made Easy and Human Ancestry made Easy for a tour through the basic science and evidence, try if you can to avoid the creationist sideswipes in the vids and follow the information. The whole series is excellent as a basic summary of the current accumulated knowledge on these matters. Enjoy!
There is a massive fossil index that catalogs all of the hominid species that have been found to have existed between our ape like ancestors and our current selves (as well as all of the hominid species that have existed that aren't a direct part of our lineage). If you are really interested in reading about them any respectable human evolution text book will cover them.
As for the reason as to why all of the intermediate forms between our ape ancestors and us aren't walking the earth along beside us. Technically... they are, we are them. Evolution is usually a very slow and continuous acquisition of improved adaptations to the environment.
To keep it simple, just say in order for our ancestors to get food they had to be able to perform a complex sequence of steps, the individuals who couldn't complete these complex steps might not be able to eat and would die (and therefor not pass on their genes). Where as the individuals who could perform this complex sequence would be more likely to survive and pass on their genes. Obviously anyone who was even better adapted would do even better and so on. rinse and repeat a million times &...
wow, what a valid video that calls a field of scientific research hoax!
Science is not hoax. Science means openness. Scientist are not afraid of religion, but it the amount of threat science cause for religious people is amazing
Another video filled with rubbish. I cant believe how YouTube is being used as nothing more than a recruiting ground for this sort of religious nonsense.
Anyone watching this: go and read a REAL scientific journal, where REAL work is done that actually advances humanity.
The rest of you pro-rapture-psycho-creationists; how about you go and live in a cave where your primitive beliefs belong.
lawlisn200,you must have a pretty pathetic life to be trolling around YT every couple of hours to see what videos BB has uploaded so that you can give your standard one star!i expect this from a teenager with nothing to do on their hands NOT from a "grown up" with such "vast knowledge" as yourself!!!PATHETIC,VERY PATHETIC!!!!
Actually, the crying towel should be given to you and all the whining babies on your side who are always crying about one thing or another that the creationists are doing! Imagine, even after eighty years of teaching your bankrupt theory in the schools and universities,2/3 of Americans still believe that they were CREATED!!!Thank God they see it for the farce that it is!Do you want a crying towel?
A recent USA Today/Gallup poll1 indicates that 66%—two thirds—of Americans believe that "God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years." In fact, twice as many stated this fact as "definitely true" compared to those who sided with evolution. (And almost twice the number of respondents declared evolution to be "definitely false"—28%—as those who said the same about creationism: 15%.)
According to Newsweek magazine, 99.85% of American earth and life scientists (in other words, those who actually know a thing or two about evolution) accept biological evolution as a fact.
We don't have to win in the courts, all we have to do is win the hearts and minds of people and the job will get done!BTW,you guys have had the courts on your side for decades and in the end the American people are still not buying your theory! We don't need the courts!!!
Yes, we all know about the sorry state of our educational system. I do know countries like India, China and Europe - whose economies are on the rise - are rather pleased with this nation's desire to ignore science.
Alright, I will be a little more serious with my response.
I am not going to apologize for my defense of science, against those who misuse science to promote a false theology. Notice I did not say false religion or false God. Dispensationalism/rapture theology is a false belief system and I will fight to reclaim Christianity from false prophets like BB.
LOL! BB, you are persistent. No matter how many times you are proven wrong, you continue to pass along the same debunked nonsence, as though nothing ever happened. This must mean you are stupid, ignorant or a fruad. Do you care to pick, before I do it for you?

majorvoltage 3 years ago 2
So what can we learn from Nebraska and Piltdown man?
1. Peer-review works and is a necessary part of science. (so quit whining about it)
2. Science is self correcting. Old ideas are tested with new methods in an attempt to falsify them.
3. Radionuclide dating works. It worked on piltdown, it works for the earth.
4. When evidence is contradictory (like with piltdown) you know there's a problem.
