lost my german shepherd 7 months ago. he had hip problems and ones day he just couldnt walk anymore. it was the saddest thing in my life to see that there was a tiny wet spot where he was laying because he was trying his hardest not to pee in the house. i still cry about it. i had that dog since i was 5 and he was my best friend. no other dog can replace him. people who have never owned a dog will never understand
The most beautiful sherpy i had ever seen. I lost my terrier girl few mths ago as vet said she had no more quality of life and they had no more ways for her. Whole of me went with her. Was a pup when came and grew up with me giving me lots of courage happiness will power to face life but all dis are gone with her. I really miss her so much that my tears just keep coming. I really would like to give up my life just to be with her once again.. to carry cuddle kiss bathe trim walk feed smell her.
I had to leave my dog duece in another city because they are outlawed here in miami but there is not a day that goes by that i dont think about him and get emotional. Your partner is in a better place chasing birds and cats all day so cheer up and you'll see him one day. One love brother.
I lost my Jake to Agressive Bone Cancer, he was also a White Shepherd. It's been almost 5 months now. I miss him terribly every waking moment. We had a very special bond him and I. wow, im reading some of the comments, and there are alot of white german shephards who died because theire spleen had cancer. I had the same dog with the same problem; except we didnt know until her spleen 'exploded' and she died of internal bleeding, she was 9.
Here's hoping your heart has healed & Zeus is still bringing joy to your heart with good memories. We've got a 9 wk. old WGSD& she's just a silly, sweet,& goofy girl that stole our hearts on sight. 10 years sure was too short, our mutt (1/2 GSD-1/2Black Lab) Cookie gave us 15 years& we had to put her down on 1/31/2011. I didn't realize how much I loved that goofy mutt, it still hurts to think of her. But Heidi the puppy marches us on through grief. :) I hope she has as good a life as your Zeus.

"Man's Best Friend" always a title well deserved. Zeus was a beautiful WGSD. We lost our Shepherd/Rott cross about three years ago after just shy of ten years. still miss her, tears welled up watching this. now we have two WGSD's which we are now breeding. Our dogs are family members just like our kids.
I'm sorry for your loss. Zeus reminds me so much of my white shep we had to have put down last month. My girl Meg died at just 6 years old due to epilepsy, and I swear down, It was the saddest thing in the world. And I just cried so much watching your video because it reminded me of my special girl :'/<3
It's sad to see them go, when the vet tells you that they need to be put to sleep, you say no, but you don't like seeing them in pain. Either way it hurts, but everything has an end, and I'm sure your dog lived a wonderful life :)

I also had a white german shepard named Brutus..He had to put to sleep because of skin problems. I Planted a pine tree where he is buried and it is a glorious sight! I think about him everytime I mow arount that huge prickly tree.
This brings back memories of my white german shepherd. His name was Beast. He died because someone was playing with a gun and shot him by accident. I may be a near grown man, but i cried my eyes out watching this.

The sad thing is dogs live so short! 15 years isn't enough I wish they lived for a hundred at least like humans parting with dogs is very painful because you grow attached to them

And I was a baby there was a snake coming to my bed. And my dog killed th snake and saved. He died in 2008 from cancer. I was crying soo much and also my family we miss him soo much. I also found a video a few days ago. and it was a vido of my grendma playing with dog and dancing with him. (My dog knew how to dance which was really cool) but yeah. And I started crying. Don't worry your dog is in haven now.

Beautiful tribute. I just lost my baby WGS today. Joel was only seven! My heart is broken and my world is in pieces. I know he is no longer suffering and that does help put my mind at rest. But I know my heart will never be whole again. A dog's love and companionship is beyond description. It is an unparalleled feeling when you share so much love for so long. I know the healing process will be slow but, they're watching over us and we will see them again.
That really touched me specially that I lost my little GSD Alex he was only 2 months he had sever diarrhea I took him to 3 vets each with a different opinion one said it's something called parvo virus although he was vaccinated and others said he might have ate something bad... Anyway although it'd been a month now I still miss him so much and I can't forget him. God bless all these beautiful creatures and keep them always safe
As my dog turned 10 i decided i would take him in for a check up and the vet asked if I would like wellness testing(blood) I said yes ..and from there they believed somthing to do with the spleen...After ultra sounds it was reveiled that he has 2 tumors on his spllen...bio-op test came back beign however they deicded to remove spleen anyways. Could have lost him had I not had that check up>>>however Im going to pick him up now!! Beautful sheppard u had there and nice pictures.

I really loved this video. You see it was April 23, 1964, 46 years ago today that I lost my WGS Rex. He was two years old and I had just turned 16 three days earlier. Then again I have had many dogs die over the years. But Rex was my first and my most tragic.
we have a white german shepherd - also named Zeus !!! He is almost 9, looks exactly like this one. Just diagnosed with brain tumor - it is sickening to see him deteriorate. We are doing everything, and an alternative treatment from a very unique vet seems to be improving him for now. Every day is a gift and blessing, but the inevitable will happen. The love for a pet can be so dear and deep and sweet.
I also had to put down my big ole shep in october,very hard. Just remember the love and joy that beautiful shepherd brought you and your family. The tears will still roll ,but man brings a smile to my face that i had such a dog in my life.

What an incredible tribute to a well love member of the family. I lost my german shepherd nearly 38 years ago and I just now have gotten the courage to get a new one. In May of this year I brought Zeus, my white german shepherd home. What and incredible being. It's like falling in love again but as you can see it took some time.

I watched this on the edge of my seat the whole time. I read your story and started to dread the day I will lose my WGS, Juen-Sak. We play everyday. He's my constant companion, teaching me things about life I could learn no where else.

I have a Briard/White german Shepherd and thinking of loosing him is the worst of nightmares! I´ll guess I will try to breed him with a 100% White german shepherd I would love to see this disciplined and easy taught dog be a father and maybe keeping one of the puppys!

We are so sorry for you loss. We have recently lost our 10 year old GSD too. She had a brain tumor and in our attempts to extend her life with radiation therapy, she developed aspiration pneumonia and we lost her. We just weren't ready. She had so much life left in her and so much love. We too posted a tribute to our special girl. You can find it on Youtube under "German Shepherd Annie". She is the one in the pile of leaves.
We have three white GSDs. One of ours looks very much like Zeus, golden eyes, light skinned ears, dropped nose, the mottled nose skin, the lines in his coat at the top of his neck.... If he lives to be ten we have a few left... a few precious years. What a great dog! Thanks for sharing.... you loss hurts... always will...
Germans Shepherds are such great dogs. They're so well behaved and loyal. We've had them in the family for years, but when I was a small child we got an Albino German Shepherd. She was by far the best dog I've ever had. She never had to be scolded, and was so loyal and sweet, but very protective. These really are the perfect pets.
I'm sorry for your loss, earlier this year we lost one of ours to some kind of neurological problem. We spent thousands of dollars, but science couldn't save him.

I have 3 White Shepard, and grew up with one. I know the feeling you just cry and cry. I have found that Shepard's have a better bond then most dogs. I feel your loss but know he is out of pain now.

I'm very sorry that you lost your lovely dog. It seems to me that dogs generally have a very high rate of cancer, and it worries me that it might have something to do with commercial dog food that we normally have to use to feed our pets. Our white GSD died of cancer last month at the age of 9yrs - we also tried everything possible but he just couldn't make it. He showed no signs of illness until a week before he died and he never put up any fuss, tried to please us right until the very end. I'll always be haunted by that look in his eyes when he knew he wasn't going to make it - it was the saddest day of my life. It is some comfort to know that other people are going through similar grief - thanks for posting.

Right now When I came across this video I choked up so bad, my 10 year old gsd died of cancer too! The coincidence is making me cry I know how it feels to put your heart into a dog for a decade and how it feels loving and missing it forever even after they pass away. And trying everything just for them to live one more day alive.

my german shepherd's name is zuse (diff spelling) hes 12 and a half years old now and he has not heart problems, but is starting to have skin problems and has had hip pain for a while

I know how you feel. My German shepard was older then me. (I'm 12)
And I was a baby there was a snake coming to my bed. And my dog killed th snake and saved. He died in 2008 from cancer. I was crying soo much and also my family we miss him soo much. I also found a video a few days ago. and it was a vido of my grendma playing with dog and dancing with him. (My dog knew how to dance which was really cool) but yeah. And I started crying. Don't worry your dog is in haven now.

awww how sad :( I also dedicate this song 2 my German Shepherd Cleo who died August 14, 2010. She was only 2 yrs old :,( Every single word in dis song is dedicated 2 her. I luved her soo much & i miss her soooo bad. I know how u feel losin Zeus cuz I went through da same thing except my dog died cuz of kidney & liver failure. I know how you feel. My best bud Damon, a WGSD was 15 and a half before he fell i the back yard, and could no longer enjoy life. I had to make that decision that you hate to make on September 5, 2008. I miss oyu buddy. Fishing playin catch, or just seeing you with your head popped out of the sunroof as we fly down the highway.

love these dogs ....had to let mine go on boxing day last year ..... absolutely heart broken ..... but in true spirit of the breed he hung on that extra day until our entire family was back together ...... anyone who doubts dog being mans best friend ...has never had a german shepherd !!!!!! I saw this clip & was more than choked up. We just lost our beloved 7y.o. white GSD Bella to a battle with cancer a few months ago...it came on so suddenly & unexpected at such a young age. Even though your video was posted a couple of years ago, it really hit home with me...a lot of the beautiful photos in the video remind me so much of our sweet girl. Beautiful tribute. I just lost my baby WGS today. Joel was only seven! My heart is broken and my world is in pieces. I know he is no longer suffering and that does help put my mind at rest. But I know my heart will never be whole again. A dog's love and companionship is beyond description. It is an unparalleled feeling when you share so much love for so long. I know the healing process will be slow but, they're watching over us and we will see them again.

That really touched me specially that I lost my little GSD Alex he was only 2 months he had sever diarrhea I took him to 3 vets each with a different opinion one said it's something called parvo virus although he was vaccinated and others said he might have ate something bad... Anyway although it'd been a month now I still miss him so much and I can't forget him. God bless all these beautiful creatures and keep them always safe

As my dog turned 10 i decided i would take him in for a check up and the vet asked if I would like wellness testing(blood) I said yes ..and from there they believed somthing to do with the spleen...After ultra sounds it was reveiled that he has 2 tumors on his spllen...bio-op test came back beign however they deicded to remove spleen anyways. Could have lost him had I not had that check up>>>however Im going to pick him up now!! Beautful sheppard u had there and nice pictures.

I really loved this video. You see it was April 23, 1964, 46 years ago today that I lost my WGS Rex. He was two years old and I had just turned 16 three days earlier. Then again I have had many dogs die over the years. But Rex was my first and my most tragic.

we have a white german shepherd - also named Zeus !!! He is almost 9, looks exactly like this one. Just diagnosed with brain tumor - it is sickening to see him deteriorate. We are doing everything, and an alternative treatment from a very unique vet seems to be improving him for now. Every day is a gift and blessing, but the inevitable will happen. The love for a pet can be so dear and deep and sweet.

I also had to put down my big ole shep in october,very hard. Just remember the love and joy that beautiful shepherd brought you and your family. The tears will still roll ,but man brings a smile to my face that i had such a dog in my life.

Beautiful tribute. We just lost our Jerry (german sheperd cross) 2 months ago, to cancer as well. He was about 11 years old and the best dog (like all GSD) I ever had. In May of this year I brought Zeus, my white german shepherd home. What and incredible being. It's like falling in love again but as you can see it took some time.

That's a very sad video.. My white German shepherd died not so long ago. Her name was Sidney and she was the best dog I have ever had.. I loved her very very much.. But her hips ended up going bad and her stamach twisted and thier was nothing the vet could do :'( again sorry about your dog

This made me cry so hard! I just lost my white german shepherd, Orion, on october 1, 2009 to cancer as well. He was my first dog ever and i never realized how hard his death would affect me. I miss him everyday too. I'm so sorry for your loss. They become part of the family and are so loyal. Looks like Zeus is well loved. They are now both in heaven watching over us. I watched this on the edge of my seat the whole time. I read your story and started to dread the day I will lose my WGS, Juen-Sak. We play everyday. He's my constant companion, teaching me things about life I could learn no where else.
I know what it means to love so much. I'm so sorry for your loss. He must have been so happy under your care.

We are so sorry for you loss. We have recently lost our 10 year old GSD too. She had a brain tumor and in our attempts to extend her life with radiation therapy, she developed aspiration pneumonia and we lost her. We just weren't ready. She had so much life left in her and so much love. We too posted a tribute to our special girl. You can find it on Youtube under "German Shepherd Annie". She is the one in the pile of leaves.

We have three white GSDs. One of ours looks very much like Zeus, golden eyes, light skinned ears, dropped nose, the mottled nose skin, the lines in his coat at the top of his neck.... If he lives to be ten we have a few left... a few precious years. What a great dog! Thanks for sharing.... you loss hurts... always will...

Germans Shepherds are such great dogs. They're so well behaved and loyal. We've had them in the family for years, but when I was a small child we got an Albino German Shepherd. She was by far the best dog I've ever had. She never had to be scolded, and was so loyal and sweet, but very protective. These really are the perfect pets.
I'm sorry for your loss, earlier this year we lost one of ours to some kind of neurological problem. We spent thousands of dollars, but science couldn't save him.

how sad everyone have to deal with death it's a very hurtful thing to think of them leaving.......well u just cant stand it. My german shepherd left us when he was 8. When i was the age of 8 too. Now im 11 and i have a 10 month old white german shepherd when i think of one day he's gonna leave us i feel really sad. Even though he's not with you anymore. He will still be alive in your mind. I feel like our lives are a bit parallel. I just made a video about our dog and yours showed up as a related video. Our boy was also big, white, sweet, named Zeus, and he died when he was 10 years old, far before his time. He looked a lot like your boy. I had a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and she died two years ago, also in my arms in our home. She had a heart disease.
I still think about her and miss her very much, but I got a new dog seven months ago, and I love him just as much.. But ofcourse I still miss Jenni (my cavalier) ..

I'm very sorry that you lost your lovely dog. It seems to me that dogs generally have a very high rate of cancer, and it worries me that it might have something to do with commercial dog food that we normally have to use to feed our pets. Our white GSD died of cancer last month at the age of 9yrs - we also tried everything possible but he just couldn't make it. He showed no signs of illness until a week before he died and he never put up any fuss, tried to please us right until the very end. I'll always be haunted by that look in his eyes when he knew he wasn't going to make it - it was the saddest day of my life. It is some comfort to know that other people are going through similar grief - thanks for posting.

Right now When I came across this video I choked up so bad, my 10 year old gsd died of cancer too! The coincidence is making me cry I know how it feels to put your heart into a dog for a decade and how it feels loving and missing it forever even after they pass away. And trying everything just for them to live one more day alive.
By the way, Zeus was a true beauty. :)
