@oddmary Nope, that's what my stepmom told me too but we have two males and we started putting my bird and hers together daily.They would scream at night when we seperated them.So we started putting them in one cage and now there even more insperable.They come as a pair if I take mine out my stepmom's goes crazy and starts saying and whistling every thing he knows until I put mine back. I even got a female to see if it would help but it didn't, they don't even look at her!

Well Cockatiels are social birds from what I read and what I see in my birds. I don't know you could try to get another one get a extra cage just in case they don't get along because you can't force them to. When I tried forcing my male with my female she completly shut him up he stopped talking until I put him back with the other male. I guess there like humans they know who they like and who they don't. The thing you should do is if their in a safe envoirment then open..........

cages and let them get to know each other my male bird hated my female at first so I started to open both of their cages to let them out. She now comes out and he cleans her. I still wouldn't put them in a single cage together right now but they do sit on top of the cage together all day so they get their socalization. So if you do get another don't just throw them together, it does take time and patience for cockatiels that seem to dislike each other to get along.
