  • Video was made by a dumbass.

  • This car is the tits.

  • this ... is ... beautiful.

  • i love this car...does anyone knows the song of this video...?? it's awesome music to listen while you drift.....

  • omg you got much vidsss

  • im gonna get that car doesnt cost as much as other sports cars.

  • 64,000 for the 240

  • Lotus' are not about horsepower but driver involvement, dynamics and speed. The elise will outperform the vast majority of sports cars and costs only 20k. America doesnt make a comparable car.

I might add, some of you will be shocked to know Lotus developed the suspension on the corvette and the ZR-1s engine!

  • the cheapest a lotus gets is 40k...not 20k sum run for 60k

  • I seen one go for $25 somthin. Their going on ebay for in the mid 30s with very low milage. Find one with 50,00-70,000 and its going to be cheep.

  • This is because your dollar is so weak at the moment. Everything in America is now half price for us.

  • all you retards think about is HP well let me tell you with this light ass car the power to weight ratio is unbelievable, to put it into simpler terms for you noobs, the light lotus having 300hp is like a heavy muscle car having 600 even 700hp, get of Forza 2 and go educate yourself

  • No production Lotus has 300hp. To put into simpler terms you got all your facts off youtube comments. You need to educate yourself. Claiming it has 600 or 700 horsepower based upon a power to weight ratio you don't even list is a wild guess. You're really an idiot to put it simply.

  • wtf are you talkin about, calling people idiots, how many horsepower does a lotus esprit have?

  • Esprit is no longer in production...?

  • For a long time?

  • the exige has 240 horse, and the elise has only like 197, thats how it is in the states, what are you talking about?

  • its not in the states for that reason lol.. its in the states because lotus wanted to sell world wide and with the old rover engine and design the goverment would not have it, so it was back to the drawing boards to design the s2 with the toyota lumb and the exige has 197 bhp as well, as standerd, as well as the elise has 240 too,

  • ppl dont understand nothing about power to weight ration, i have an exige, its the 1.8 16v vvtl-i so its the baby out of the s2 but you get all the chimps out there in their 2 ltr turbos and above think they have a penis the size of mont everest, its amazing what a 1.8 can do in a car the is 860kg to a car what weights 1.5 ton, on and the 300bp supercharged lotus will smash 90% of cars on the road even super cars as its 0-6 is 3 secs and 0-100 in 7.2 still not bad for a 1.8 16v to be honest lol

  • OMG WILL YOU PPL SHUT UP? You can't compare a car built for raw power and a car built for track use only! The lotus isn't even a Daily driver car. It's just a track toy for the most part. Apples and Oranges....

  • yep. If you want to drag a qtr mile you should buy a muscle car. If you want to have a crazy smile on your face as you dust a Corvette Callaway on a twisty road and never be seen again you should buy a road legal basic Elise.

    Bye, bye, I said.

  • Wow. Track only car. HAHAHA. Actually. No. The Elise, Elise SC, Exige, Exige S, and Exige S 240 are ALL street legal in the 50 states and EVERYWHERE.

Lotus makes cars for track day or track only use like the Lotus Club Racer and 2-Eleven.

Cars that get 30-40 MPG. Are not "Track Toys."

They're 10 times more practical on the road then a Corvette... and 9 times out of 10 they'll beat one in a showdown too.

    Like everyone says. Educate YOURSELF.

  • Good point BTW. Power isn't everything. Hence Exige S, 0-60 in 4... brake into a turn... Rinse; Repeat.

Do that in a 700HP 8 Cylinder Gas Guzzler. Or a V12 Weedwacker.

  • Nothings wrong with a 4.0s 0-60mph time and if its one of the best handling cars built then american muscles got nothing on this car.

  • thats a bunch of shit who cares how much hp it has the thing if fucking light and can take corners like its, its fucking job

  • point taken, straight line speed american muscle is probably the way to go

  • oops i ment

    fuck off

  • As for you loving American Muscle... A Lotus will most likely wipe the snot out of any American muscle car. Get off your Playstation and get in the real world, kid. I'm not saying this car is the best, but they are crazy quick. These cars are faster than even some Lamborghini's, So at least give them some credit. What do you drive, honestly?

  • LOL I give them credit I mean these fuckers take turns like nothing...but honestly old muscle cars have more horse power than a lot of cars...how much hp does this car have?

  • It depends on which model you are looking at. There is an Exige S 240, which is the more racing oriented model, and theres the regular Exige S. The Exige S has 218 HP and 156 lbs of torque, whilst the 240 model has 240 horsepower and 170 lbs of torque. Both of the HP and Torques are @ 8,000 RPM for the HP, and @ 5500 RPM for torque. 0-60 in 4.1 and 4.0 secs and 0-100 in just under 10, all with getting about 26 MPG highway. Both have a top speed of 150 MPH.

  • then the corvette burns it it has 505 hp a faster 0-60 (i 4got wat it was but faster than the gallardo) they are excellent in turning, not hp and 0-60

  • No..they will beat a classic hot rod in corners, that's. Put them on a drag strip and a good ole '72 Chevelle or something will smoke it. American Muscle..all brawn.

  • Yeah but that's just it.. these cars are designed for race tracks.. not drag strips.

  • Attention anyone who thinks this car is the best

ur a fucking retard -_- old american cars r better in almost everything including price range not 2 mention any year corvette can wipe the shit outta them AND be less expensive AND beat them on the drag strip so fucl off if u think this is better douchebag :P

  • uh, have you actually driven an exige and a corvette? and i mean, in real life, not on playstation or Xbox. and by "driven", that's left AND right turns, brake and shifting. the mere fact that you even reference "exige" and "drag strip" in the same thought means you have no idea what you're talking about. a chimp with a steady hand can drive any american car fast in a straight line. oh, and nice classy language by the way.

  • -_- live with it i'm right

  • no, your wrong, old american cars, as a standard feature, cant turn corners.

  • XD you are damn well right, as for the corners. But they have power. I'm not saying I don't like this car, but I'm saying I would rather have something from America. Sorry for your trouble.

  • XD you are damn well right, as for the corners. But they have power. I'm not saying I don't like this car, but I'm saying I would rather have something from America. Sorry for your trouble.

  • These cars look great, but it isn't the end all be all performance car. I think 60K is way too much for it, way overpriced. To give an example, my friend spent 25-30K on a early 00' Miata, thing averages 0-60 in 3.9 sec quarters at high 11's and handles like its on rails with Tein Flex suspension and fat Azenis, no doubt stomps even an Exige S, but alas the Exige still has that exotic rare look.

  • little oversteer, anyone??!

  • I like the back tires with the blue exterior, I'm sure the interior is black leather with dark beige instrument panel. If not I'm sure its awesome none the less.

  • This car is beautiful, and Lotus certianly make the best looking and performing cars in thier price range.

  • best engine

  • the Lotus Elise/exige is one of the most purest, funnest sportscars you can ever drive. if you drive them all, you'd agree to.

  • I agree 100%

  • Hope it is better than your grammar.

  • agreed. Exige is a blast to drive. Inexpensive, fast, light, and can keep up with cars of much higher caliber

  • It's not actually inexpensive.. the elise is about 50k.. the elise SC (supercharged) is almost 60k, and the Exige S 240 is over 70k..

When you realize how spartan and basic these cars are they are actually quite expensive compared to what you are getting..

Again for me I think they are absolutely worth their pricetag.

  • they are pretty pricey, but they know you can't get engineering, quality like that ANYWHERE else. Its all hand built, and hand assembled, hand painted. I'd rather spend 60k on an Exige S than 80k+ on something that can match the speed, but can't handle for sh-t...

  • Two years in college = How much a Lotus is.

Sometimes I wish I didn't value education over cars.

  • stfu ur gay

  • good driving... terrible editing

  • nice drifting

  • *Jeremy Clarkson voice* I mean, this has to be one of the best... the cheapest super-cars ever... and thats not all...

  • It's nice because they're not too expensive!

  • why would you want to put more than a 4 in a car that weighs about 2000 lbs?

  • True but still.

Wouldn't you think a car that goes 0-60 in like 4.6 seconds would be at least a high end v-6?

Cause when i think of 4 bangers i think of geo metros. I mean come on my lawnmower makes more noise.

Still im still confused today that a slr mclaren is a v-8.

  • its 0-60 is 4.1 actualy

and it is able to do that on v-4 because it ways less than a ton

  • Technically is a L4 ;)

  • my friends has one is red but he doesnt live in the same city as me:( but we chill all the time so i always see it:)

  • i have 1, would recomend any1 to get one, ok u dont get much room, but fucking hell do u get a buzz everytime u drive it, never get bored, mine is all black, looks nice when its just been cleaned and polished, its the nuts....

  • i love that color. my dad is thinking about getting the elise

  • i saw a yellor one in real life

i told that guy he was cool lol

  • hell ya

  • Nice colour too!

  • Its around 50,000 i love this car i want to get bolth of them the exige and the elis

  • agreed. if only i had a good paying job to afford one.

  • Bestesd. Car. Everrrrrrr!
