  • Where did you get your movies. Did you have to order them, because I haven't seen any of them in the stores.

  • @Markstubation01

Practically all of the DVDs shown here were bought in store. Most are still available if you go to the well stocked places.

  • I loved 'Turkey Shoot' even though people hated that film

  • pure shit is an aussie junkie movie not real ozploitation again

  • Was lucky enough to get Brian Trenchard Smith and Roger Ward to sign my copy of Turkey Shoot when I saw them at the Ozploitation panel at MIFF a couple of years ago, was great.

  • I got that double disc import myself! Well worth it. Funny how the US release has Mad Max taking the spot of Alvin Purple on the cover :D

  • Yes I noticed the different artwork on the US release. The Mad Max image looks cool. But the 'naked' girl on the motorcycle has had a bikini drawn on. Now that's was just plain silly!

  • Body Melt has some really great moments.

  • the scary thing about Fair game is that the main villian got me into Akubra. I know own 25 hats

  • "Get your hands on pure shit" ha ha good on ya mate, I love the collection you got. Hey I don't know if you considered "Hostage" an Ozploitation but I thought it wasn't too bad, it did have only a quick mention (clip) on not quite hollywood so yeah.

  • The pun was unintentional!

Hostage is definitely Ozploitation, but I simply didn't have a copy to show. In fact there are quite a lot of titles that could have made the grade, like Journey Among Women, Chant of Jimmy Blacksmith, Attack Force Z, The Survivor, The Chain Reaction, etc etc. But I might revisit the topic down the track.

    Thanks for commenting!

  • It was pretty crazy when the guy out of "Lady Stay Dead" nearly drowned that girl in the fishtank.

  • "Pure Shit" never heard of that one, but then again until I saw "Not Quite Hollywood" I didn't know anything about these movies.

  • That doco was great in increasing knowledge of long lost titles I think!

  • I freakin' LOVE BMX Bandits, damn it!

  • *flips hair*

    Yeh, BMX Bandits rulez...

  • Like, fer sure. Totally ;-)

  • 5 star - Second time I have watched your update, I have since watched Not Quite Hollywood and loved it so came back to see what copies of the films you had. So many to check out now!

I'm having a mind blank about one of the films I wanted to see it was about this guy in a coma and he has his eyes open the whole time, looked hilarious! Do you have it?

  • Thanks very much!

The film you are referring to is called Patrick, and yes I do have the DVD of it. I show the DVD in the next update (it has been uploaded and is processing as I write), but I did not have enough YouTube time to splice in a scene :(

But there's a couple of other tid bits in it :)

  • Great video again! I love ozploitation films. You probably also own the movie Razorback. Can't wait for part 2

  • Thanks very much! They are a lot of fun.

Yes I do have the DVD for Razorback. Great film! As you probably know, the director went on to do Highlander and Ricochet.

Hey I found the Black Emanuelle volume 2 box set!!! Very happy about that and I will have to also show it off in the box set video I got planned :)

  • Great find on that Black Emanuelle boxset. Looking forward to that video, and seeing what boxsets you have!

  • Loved Not quite Hollywood.

I bought it on impulse and never regretted it.

  • It sure is worth the money! It's a great DVD with all those extras jam packed onto it.

  • can't wait for the vestron movies i have a few....re animator, scream, parents, blood dinner.

  • hamburger hill aswell

  • Wow, good titles there! I also got Re-Animator, but not the others you mentioned. Only recently started gathering the Vestrons anyway. Got a few obscure R-rated ones like Vendetta, Final Justice, Lifespan, The Beat, Killpoint, etc, and a few slightly more common ones like Slaughter High and Streetwalkin. Hoping to find a few more before the vid is made :)

  • Ooh, Blood Diner. I should post my Don Preston score.

  • Romper stomper's cool i got the roadshow entertainment (vhs)...in good nick too from ebay. Not exactly a collectors item lol.

  • Maybe give it 20-years or so, and it may become a collector's item!!

The DVD with the special features is worth it.

I'm planning a video on big box Roadshows that were R-rated and released in the 1990s. Funnily enough, Romper Stomper is not one I have in my collection (at this stage anyway)!!

  • Smashing stuff! I must get that Man from Hong Kong dvd. Never seen it in widescreen. I wish Citytv would show that again on the weekends. That "Pure Shit" package looked damn good! With the soundtrack on "vinyl" too, clever! Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks! Yes that Pure Shit DVD is a great release. It was never released on home video, and only got a short run back in the mid 70s, and then only infrequent screenings at film fests. Then all of a sudden, they did this deluxe DVD!!!

Man from Hong Kong is definitely best in widescreen as you see so much more action. The DVD that was released in Hong Kong is to be avoided because the aspect ratio is incorrect.

  • Yup, their on my list!

  • Still haven't picked up Not Quite Hollywood DVD - fecking expensive. It was great stuff though. That booklet - does it come with it inside the case, or was it some limited offer? I got the DVD of Next of Kin - still haven't watched. Didn't know Fair Game was out on DVD. I didn't realise there were so many sexploitation films - not really into those myself. I'll have to look up that Nightmare cover, haven't seen it yet. Great vid man.

  • Thanks mate! With the NQH book, it's a separate purchase, but JB had a very limited ed book/DVD bundle - cheaper that way. The 2-disc DVD itself is only $16 from JB online. Got a lot of extras, and worth the money.

Beyond did great DVD treatment with Fair Game. Worth considering!

I got just about every Aussie sexploitation DVD so far! Yes, I prefer them over horror he he.

  • Thanks for the info on the 2 disc NQH :D. Mate, I was wondering if you could help me identify a horror film I saw back when I was a kid. It was on TV really late, and I'd say it was from the mid 80s. I'm pretty sure it was Australian. I remember it being set in the outback - lots of shots of deserted cattle stations and such. I remember a scene with an old man and a gun, a corrugated windmill spinning, and most vividly, a body being discovered in a house at night - looked melted.Ring any bells?

  • My memories are a bit vague but it's possibly Outback Vampires from 1987. It was a TV movie. Directed by Colin Eggleston, who did Long Weekend and Cassandra of course.

But then I could be way off the mark because I can't remember anything about it!

  • Loved the Mad Max segment on Not Quite Hollywood, absolutely insane that anyone survived and my lord has Joanne Samuel piled on the kilos.

    Anywho, great vid as always.

  • Thanks!

I guess I'll put Mad Max in the next vid. Yeah it was nuts how they made that film. In fact, all of the 70s action film productions were life threatening!!

  • Mmm...Pacific Banana!

  • Graeme Blundell's banana!

  • HA HA!!!!!!
