I love my hot glue gun, and do find the "hot glue under the ribbon" problem quite annoying... plus the "glue bumps" under paper as well as the glue getting stuck on a skewer to assist with small embellies, etc.

I bet you could use a silicone baking sheet like the mat but I would still buy this for the tools anyway!

It all sounds great. I am especially excited about the mat. I've been using a piece of scrap cardboard and it isn't nearly as cute or easy to clean. :)
