  • I own an HK P30LS with an LEM trigger and manual safeties. Do you know if this gun is legal for IPDA? If not, I was looking into the Springfield Armory XDm 5.25.

  • awesome video, very informative. I will begin shooting idpa this year using a gen 4 glock 35. I really like the comptac holsters as well. Hopefully they get their new ones out soon, so i can get one for my 35

  • So I'm in the market for a holster, and comp-tac is on top of my list.. however, I'm already lookin' like a copycat with my new gun choice. Perhaps I should even get a red one and get a navy themed shirt also!!

  • @Shootersquest Or I could just give ya a knucklesandwich and you ould call it a day! Get back to Florida now!

  • i would love to do this so i could become a better shot. im going to be getting a carrying permit soon. whats a good cheap side arm that you would recommend? for beginners?

  • I had been reading up in IDPA recently and considering getting involved....I think I'm nervous, I don't want to look like an idiot LOL

You gave a lot of helpful and organized information here. Thanks for sharing

  • @MissBattleBorn Janna, I am glad it helped. I would suggest you give it a try. With the skill level you already have, you will be just fine. At first its not about "winning", its about having fun, learning and being safe. The great thing is the other shooters willl welcome you with open arms and provide advice. If you take the time to read the rule book first, it would be impossible to look like an idiot. Good luck, I hope you try. You will love it.

  • liking that holster. where u get?

  • @MrJmfitch comp-tac (dot) com

  • @MakingMasterClass best marketing ever... most clubs have their pasters... when covering bullet holes, they all say comp-tac dot com.... and over and over and over

  • Awesome video!

  • @mpc808 Thanks my friend. I just want to spread the word about competition shooting and what its done for me.

  • This video was so good! I hope you know OTG. He is a great guy and an avid shooter as well. Anyway this is what the gun community needs. Thanks for your insight and this video.

  • @Mr45Bullitt Thank you Bill, that is a great compliment coming from you. I have a lot of respect for you and the things your doing with your channel. Thanks very much for your friendship and the comments you post here.

  • Love IDPA! Still havent gone to a competition only gun. I shoot a Ruger SR9c and do ok. Its my carry gun which is great practice, I may not do as well but I still have fun. I cant decide what I want to try next. I would like to play with ESP and SSR but I would also like to try to take a year to learn to shoot everything lefty. Since we have to shoot weak hand so often I think it would be challenging to become truly ambi. After just 1 season I'm inescapably hooked.

  • @bonesoncampus Man I am hooked as well. Its such a great sport and the friends I have made are good people.

  • really like your vids brother nice job ,keep up the great work

  • @TheCrewchief01 Thank you my friend. I do my best.

  • Steve, must you join the IDPA before trying this out?

  • @woodswalker67 Most clubs will let you try a match or two before you join.

  • Now this is the video I've been waiting for. Awesome putting it together. I now have a good picture of what you do at your matches. Also it's 3 o'clock for left handers. lol

  • @denkar1891 Dennis, glad you found it useful. I finally got around to making it.

  • Thanks for another great video Steve. Regards,Scott.

  • @RETIREINARIZONA Thats why Im here, LOL.

  • nice vid man

  • @PolishedTurd4Life Much appreciated dude.

  • Good vid bro!

  • @iowndunoob Thanks man!

  • Nice video, great information. Thanks for sharing. Take care and have a good one.

  • @ewtoutdoors My pleasure bro. Talk at ya later.

  • Nice intro for beginners like me. Thanks. I think almost anybody will find the folks (competitors and range staff alike) at the local matches extremely friendly and helpful... I know I did.

  • @scooter17568 I agree, they welcome you and are helpful to new shooters.

  • Great info. I'm going to look more into IDPA. Sounds like a great learning experience.

  • @UrbanArmed I hope it works out for you. its a great deal of fun.

  • Thanks for the vid Steve this something I'm going to try

  • @woodswalker67 Your welcome man. I hope you do my friend.

  • Good info. We are joining a local gun range that has the IDPA matches from time to time. Can't wait ;) c

  • @SoulSurvivorX2 Great news, I hope you guys will consider participating. Take care.

  • Great video bro. I did try it one time during a IDPA practice and loved it. It was a blast. I really have to go again when they start back up. Take care.

  • @hk45shooter Very cool man, I hope you get out there soon!

  • Great video and thanks for sharing.

    Glock n Load,

    Mike

  • @videosbymike Thank you Mike. I appreciate you commenting. Hope all is well with you and you guys are having a fantastic holiday season.

  • It's important for everyone to keep in mind, it is ONLY as competitive as YOU make it. If you just want to go and get trigger time and use it to stay competent, that is just great. I think that is one of the things that makes it so much fun.

  • @johniac7078 Excellent point. It does not have to be about "Gaming it". Just have fun!

  • I love IDPA....suck at it, but love it. You should try steel challenge too. Bring A LOT of ammo. It is a heck of a lot of fun. I also like USPSA, but just for fun.....Ok, who am I kidding, I LOVE IT ALL!!!! Nice vid!

  • @johniac7078 We all have to suck at something right...LOL. Thanks brother for the excellent support.

  • Right on, I just jumped into it with a few guys at work at we are having a ton of fun. I think I'll stick to shooting USPSA but the IDPA is a lot of fun too.

  • @satyrpain Iam gonna do some USPSA soon for crossover training. My IDPA partner just shot his first USPSA match and has encouraged me to give it a whirl. I may even try some steel challenge.

  • Nice video...never shot comp. If I was still in the game I would have to give it a try.

  • @jmmurdy Thanks man.

  • good pointers for us amateurs :-)

  • @MrCleanerNash LOL, your a damn skilled amatuer if I say so myself!

  • Hey Brother- Good video and information--- especially about most of us thinking we are good shooters in self defense situations...

  • @adamador You got it bro. Its one of those things you dont really believe till you see for yourself. Thanks Dino, you rock bro.

  • Excellent point about thinking you're proficient with your pistol until you get smoked by someone way better. Those humbling experiences are what keep me coming back and keep me practicing. That, and getting in some trigger time in a pressure filled, dynamic setting is pretty damn fun as well.

  • @beltjones1 Absolutely! That was the biggest thing I walked away with after my first match. Made me wanna get better very fast.

  • Nice video

  • @jmmurdy Thanks bro.

  • Great info bro

  • @slinginLEAD10 Glad you like.

  • Good stuff Steve. Ive been wanting to get involved with IDPA. Appreciate the vid

  • @TheFireArmGuy I think you would really like it.

  • Bright red holsters make me feel warm, and fuzzy inside! lol

  • @VeracityNation I dont know how to respond except...good!

  • I am gonna ' get me some' of that IDPA action!

    great info MMC

  • @Grubkat I hope you do! You can let me know how you like it.

  • Great info, brother! Thanks for sharing!

  • @0Rockstar7 My pleasure man!

  • What makes you think i have to watch THIS SHIT!!!!

I AINT no beginner.... i think....

well..... at least i havent ACCIDENTALLY DISCHARGED on my girlfriend yet! (the other night doesnt count...)

Either way doosh-bag......NICE video! Great to get newbies into our sport! CONGRATS on another good video brother Steve!!!

  • @alonewcompany Its about time you came around and showed your ugly mug! Glad you approve of the vid sir.

  • Steve do you ever see anyone shooting with the compact guns like the Glock 26, 27 or XD Compacts in that size catogory?

  • @mick6701 Yes Mike, thats not a problem.

  • great vid got me interested.

  • @RTADPOLE696 Glad to hear that Rich.

  • @MakingMasterClass just tried to look it up but i don't think they have that in Jersey

  • @RTADPOLE696 PM sent.

  • @MakingMasterClass I am indeed motivated, now, action must occur!

  • Great information bro! Thanks for sharing

  • @stainlessfour5 No problem, get out and try it!

  • Great info brother, I want to do something like this. I got to do some drills in the police academy and all it did was make me want to do more. I especially liked using the simunitions with the "red" Glocks and get to go "man on man". That really gets the blood pumping. Great video my friend and God bless.

  • @fumasterchu12 My pleasure sir. If you can get out and try it, I highly reccomend you do. So much fun.

  • I got to shoot a match with MrJmfitch about a month ago. Also, Comp Tac will soon offer a digi cam color for holsters and magazine pouches.

  • @xZarthornx Sweet, Fitch is a beast, love that guy. Digicam sounds sweet. Im gonna need a holster for my Glock 17, now I have a kickass option. Thanks man.

  • great beginner info...thanks for spreading the word...

  • @mach1mustang1971 You know how I love the sport, just figured it might get a few interested. Thanks brother.

  • can you use a .22 caliber

  • @madatch01 9mm is the lowest caliber allowed

  • @mach1mustang1971 I thoughtit was .38 but you are probably correct.

  • @MakingMasterClass .38 for revolver and 9mm for auto...my bad sorry

  • @mach1mustang1971 LOL, no worries.

  • @madatch01 .38 is the smallest that will make the power factor. So no .22.

  • Well done, man. But you didn't mention the fishing vest? :)

  • @SuperSetCA Just ordered my vest a couple days ago. I cant believe Im gonna wear the dork vest...LOL!

  • @MakingMasterClass You crossed over now! Welcome to the cool kids club!

  • cool, thanks for the info.

    2 questions,

do you get extra points for loud colorful cover garments? and do they make that holster in bright blue ?

Sorry I could not resist, I love watching you shoot, and always appreciate the info that you share so freely

  • @beelikestowatch No bright Blue and no extra points unfortunately, LOL. Your a nut Brian, thats why I like ya so much!

  • @MakingMasterClass Pretty sure there should be points for style, did you fins a vest with a Mountain sunset mural on the back ? Maybe TheTactical6string could do a blue duracoat skull job on a holster for ya

  • Excellent video. Thanks for the effort you put into this.

  • @mortarish Thanks my friend, hope your doin well.

  • I want to get into IDPA!

  • @mgonza29 Do it brother, you will get hooked!
