I purchaed the e.l.f. studio powder brush this week, and I love it. I'm using Alima, though, as Everday Minerals makes my face itchy and the coverage isn't as good for me. I'm having a hard time applying the concealer (also Alima), though, so I think I need a different brush for that. I can't seem to find the one you used from EDM.
I was just wondering if I should get the Abbott's Perk Me Up Concealer OR the Aussie's Perk Me Up Concealer?
I have purple-blue-ish circles under my eyes, so I would think the Abbott's one (it says on EDM's website that it works especially good on purple tones), but it looks very dark and I have very bright skin. The Aussie's one is lighter, but I don't know about the coverage... What do you think?
Abbott's is a very light peach. It should suit light to medium skin tones. It's not really salmon-toned, so it should be great for your dark circles. Works great for me!
I've never used Aussie, so I can't help you there. =) Maybe order a sample of each?
Ok, thank you! I think I'll go with Abbott's - but I'll probably buy a sample of Aussie as well, just to check it out. I'll let you know what I think! =D
I use EDM too and I have brownish dark circles, which concealer would you recommend? I use sunlight now, I want more coverage with a more natural look.. I'm order multitasking sample should I get abbot's too? Also I'm thinking about getting that eye kabuki, is it necessary if I have their concealer brush already? TY!
Definitely Abbott's Perk Me Up. The peach will help to colour-correct your dark circles which means you need less. I've tried Multitasking but found it a weird skin colour that didn't do anything for me.. it's pretty heavy coverage, too. But by all means, try it and see if it works!
The eye kabuki is the best way to apply the powder foundation, in my opinion, because you can buff it into the undereye area. =)
I have a problem with my foundation rubbing off on my clothes, on my hands etc, especailly with minerals, even if I use a primer. Do you have any advice?
Hm.. that's never really happened to me! I just use a moisturizer, wait about 10 minutes, then apply my foundation. That way the moisturizer is tacky enough to grab the minerals without being so moist that it streaks the foundation.
This is such a great video! Actually, I've always wondered how people have gotten mineral foundation to work for them, since I mostly use liquid foundation, but I think I'll definitely have to try this! :D
Honestly, it's silly if you ask me. Nobody applies their foundation like that (a huge cloud of dust), and it's perfectly safe if the minerals aren't micronized. If you can use your loose powder or your HD silica powder, you can use mineral makeup. I'm not a fan liquid foundation for hygienic reasons as well as how my skin reacts to them.
=) The other thing is that the studies they're citing are for occupational exposure, not from ten minutes of makeup in the morning. Don't let that segment be the reason you don't use good quality mineral makeup! Hope that helps! xx
That segment was over the top. He talked about how you ingest 7lbs of petroleum because of lipgloss.
I wished he talked more about harmful ingredients that are in cosmetics rather than focusing on certain products and their dangers. Liquid foundation isn't that much safer than mineral makeup. -_-
It's definitely changed a lot! I'm pretty much using up what I have left, which is a ton of stuff I ordered before all the changes. Afterward I'm probably going to try some new brands. =)
Nope, I haven't! I like the idea of the pressed version, but it has shea butter and vitamin E which I don't really like on my skin for daytime.. I prefer to be able to control my 'skincare' products separately from my 'makeup' products, you know?
Shoppers Drug Mart. I think I have a video on it, you can usually get it at less than half price if it's on clearance and since it's water it never goes bad.
They have a giant version of your mirror at dollarama now ($2)! I just got it. It makes it so much easier to put on my makeup when I can see my whole face
I'm using N.Y.C mineral loose powder foundation and it's cheap and works well for my skin~ But I'm thinking of using elf mineral collection next when I get the money to buy it
great video! i think i might have to switch back to mineral foundation again :P
Oh and i need a new loose powder, so i was wondering what you thought of the EM natural reflections? I'm not looking for a mattifying powder, just something good so set me makeup :) Let me know if you've tried it :)
I haven't tried the Natural Reflections, but I've heard great things about it being used as a setting powder as well as a physical sunblock. I think it would be a great option!
I have that , it's the best:)

I've got a sample of Aussie and it's veryy shimmery, atleast for me - way too sparkly for concealing. I think it would be better as an eyeshadow!
