Sir, I am completely sickened and disillusioned by the elected people in Congress today. As a group both the GOP and Democrats have completely lost touch with the backbone of our country. My parents trusted the government when they paid into social security/medicare.... now they face a daily struggle to pay basic bills. They have given up medications due to the costs- they can't afford it! The insurance plans they retired on have reneged on coverage. Now Dad has cancer.
I don't usually comment on political videos, but I just want to say that I have an immense respect for Senator Sanders. He manages to draw attention to the fundamental, basic core of issues. Politics are nasty, economics are undoubtedly complex, but at the end of the day there are people with too much and people with too little, and it just doesn't need to be that way. For things to change, people must change how they view themselves in relation to others, and I think Bernie knows this.

Oil is a commodity upon which the US economic engine runs whether you like it or not. Military expenses are a necessary evil. Its not just welfare queens, its: HUD and Section 8 housing, Food Stamps, EBT, WIC, SNAP, HEADSTART on and on and on. Sanders can tax corporations as much as he wants. My parents trusted the government when they paid into social security/medicare.... now they face a daily struggle to pay basic bills. They have given up medications due to the costs- they can't afford it! The insurance plans they retired on have reneged on coverage. Now Dad has cancer.

They claim there has been no inflation. They'd be right, if gas prices weren't around $4/gallon, drug prices weren't through the roof, doctors can no longer afford to accept Medicare assignment and justify turning the key in the lock of the office and food prices weren't going up. Did they factor those things OUT?

Bless you Bernie, you're the singular member of both houses of Congress who actually represents "the people." Hopefully the dumbed down sheeple who consistently vote them in will awaken, rise up and, at the very least, exercise their independence and actually vote for an "independent" when time comes around for the next election. @vechorik that's bs that it's not solvent, it has over 9% tax on income and had plenty before the increase in the 80's in the tax rate. What happens is while that money should solely be used for social security is instead meshed up with all the other funds and is used on other things.

Republicans have said for years they wanted to get rid of programs & there was NO recession! Such as the Republican that said he would get his hands of medicare when there was no medicare. Sadly some Democrats are joining wanting to do away with programs needed for middle and low class. Lift medicare caps solves that . Not having money for wars don't stop them!

Senator Sanders is one of the few people in congress still speaking for the middle and poor class people. Unfortunately, he's shouting in the wind trying to get his message across to the rest of the people.
