  • Ray of light is one of the best Pop albums of excistence.

  • This is the most underrated song in Madonna's entire career. Simply excellent but never really got out. love it

  • @TheDomnt And this give me shivers...

    Simply dreamy/psychedelic

  • This song makes my soul explode in extasis.

  • One of my favorite songs on the Ray of Light album! And I love the performance in the Drowned World Tour! Madonna is AMAZING!

  • This song makes me forget about everything -3 :)

  • i love getting high to this song :-) lol

  • Magic Madonna! the queen! minha Rainha !

  • Very good Madonna sounds so current

  • Madonna's trancey era...one of my favorites from this album and frozen

  • this album has amazing power and texture.no wander she had a massed over $500 million dollars in net worth.

  • this si the type of song that lady gaga will never make...... never, madonna does not watch,no magazines not commerical world that is why she gets inspired by other things

  • @gogetamusic We cannot say. Madonna recorded this album at 40 y.o., when she had been a star for 15 years and right after having her first child; Lady Gaga's 25, at that age Madonna was making tunes like "Everybody" and "Holiday". I don't think anyone at that time would have thought Madonna capable of doing things like this song, or the whole Ray of Light album for that matter.

  • @nobradors Yes but by the time she was 31 she has already released songs such as Live to Tell and Like a Prayer :)

  • And this is a big leap from her first albums :)

  • @nobradors

dude, i dont know in what kind of fairytales you believe but its not "madonna capable of doing such songs".

there is a staff of people working in a record company that buy the rights on songs fitting the audience or just plainly copy them. then madonna (or whoever) is invited in a musicstudio to hum a few lines into a microphone and that is sold to you.

madonna has nothing to do with the music beside refusing songs that do not fit her taste.

  • @ichlieberave Not true. Madonna has writtens tons of her own music or co written, produced etc. She's not the kind to be invited to a studio to..hum a few lines to whatever someone chose. Check again

  • @ichlieberave First of all Madonna own her own record company, so she doesn't have anyone telling her what to do, she tells people what to do. Second, she writes most of her songs at her home with her guitar, then she hires the producer that she thinks suits best to musical project, she brings the demos to the studio and along with the producer they transform an acoustic demo into a dance track. Sometimes when she performs her dance songs live on tour she sings the acoustic version

  • @NocturneSoul Actually, she's signed to Interscope Records. :-/

  • @bonslywizard That was now for her new record MDNA, because she sold her record company to Warner Music. She founded her own company in 1990 and not only made her best records (Erotica, Bedtime Stories, Ray of Light, Music, American Life) under the freedom of her own company she also had in charge other artists signed to her company (Alanis Morissette, Prodigy, Deftones, Marilyn Manson). Then she sold her company to Warner and signed with Interescope, keeping her creative staff.

  • @NocturneSoul That's true. But she always had problems with promotion. All of her albums had potential to sold more. If she had in the past the marketing machine that we see around Lady Gaga... The public loves her, not the industry or the media. In fact, they try to destroy all the independent artists. That's what they did to Janet or Michael.

  • excelente disco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love madonna

  • Song is so unique because whenever I listen to it, it clears my mind. It puts me in a trance.

  • 1 girl 5 gays is such a bad representation of the gay society as hole...just my option. i watched it once for about 5 minutes and i had to turn it off

  • @92FanMail i totallyy agree, however others shouldn't be watching a tv show with that title, thinking that it'll embody every gay person in the world lol.

  • I love this song a lot!!!!

  • Her voice is like being in a good dream that you remember when you wake up.

  • ughhh!!! i LOVE this song &..Madonna lol

  • this song was my JAM from this album back in '98 :D

  • This album is definitely different than her other albums. My single most favorite Madonna song is into the groove

  • who wrote these songs? was it Madonna or another artist? why aren't other madonna albums like this?

  • @Zee96969696 She wrote or co-wrote most of the songs! And you're right, why aren't other M's albums like this? My guess she doesn't like to repeat herself, BUT this album is genius! She was in another dimension when she did this album! Lola was the inspiration for this album!

  • @Zee96969696 Madonna wrote them with William Orbit and Patrick Leonard, if you listen to Hard Candy of course it won't be as good as this, you should try Like A Prayer or Erotica...

  • 1:15 a plagiarism from "Walkin on the moon" of Police???

  • @tibbius You know, I never noticed that until you mentioned it! The chorus of each song is nearly identical, not lyrically, but the melody...that's too funny! I still love Sky Fits Heaven, tho! ;-)

  • A wonderful beat! A strong tone! This is my favorite of her Ray Of Light album. Brilliant in its own simplicity! It reminds me of so much, and so many people! Why? I'm unsure... But I am sure that this song is amazing!

  • Smoke some weed and blast this song; it's the recipe for perfection!

  • perfeita!

  • !998...All Summer long on Fire Island and everywhere else I went...this awesome album was EVERYWHERE!!! Next Year's CD better rock M!

  • I always loved how this song flowed into the next one on the album.

  • madonna -sky fits heaven,gijoe989.

  • madonnaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i love you long live the queen

  • Madonna's new album must be like Ray of Light <3

  • @beto1567 New?? This album is already 13 years old!

But it's timeless music, imo her best album ever!

  • Ray Of Light is her best album, indeed. So deep and magical... What an excellent album!

  • William Orbit <3 genius album, absolute pinnacle of Madge's career.

  • i hope next album will be like ray of light <3

  • @FunFabiuz Me too! It's William Orbit what we listen to now, so my hopes are up that we'll have a Ray of Light no.2 next spring

  • 1g5g <3

  • like if 1 girl 5 gays brought you here.

  • @FortheloveofDubstep Damn you beat me to it! 1g5g!!!

  • @FortheloveofDubstep What are you talking about? I don't understand?

  • Comment removed

  • Sky Fits Heaven deserved to be a single, one of the best songs off the album, amazing.

  • @xxxTIN0xxx The whole album deserved to be a single actually :)

  • Aaah this is such a nice song

  • won't lie. heard about this song on 1g5g and had to check it out.

  • best album ever!!!! just love it, reminds my of 98!!!

  • I hope Orbit is involved in the upcoming CD.

  • @leftyla He will be!!! Madonna confirmed his collaboration on her new album in a press conference this week at the Venice Film Festival. You can officially expect another masterpiece!! ;-)

  • @leftyla He is!

  • it's neck and neck between this song and "Skin" for best song on the Ray Of Light album. I think it's this one by a nose.

  • @CharlieShipleyMusic its a tuff call! i think its skin for me

  • MADONNA AND WILLAM ORBIT R WORKING TOGETHER AGAIN FOR HER 2012 ALBUM THEY SHOULD DO A RAY OF LIGHT SEQUEL

  • when there is back as a producer William Orbit, an album is sure of success.

ray of light is in absolute the best album of Madonna.

  • @hyperion7x Lucky for you (and all of us), Orbit and Madonna are working together on her next album. :')

  • @chommylala yes you´re right

  • lovee it

  • madonna i love you very much from the baptist and skalara xx

  • MADONNA!!! Please come back to something like this!!! Just once again!!!

  • @GeniusAmongTards: Just for the record, Music and Ray of Light went muti-platinum here in the US, with Music going to Number 1 and Ray of Light number 2. I find it amazing how people can criticize the US for our "dumbed down taste in music" when Madonna is freaking from the US!!!! Yes, a LOT of the music now sucks, but it sucks everywhere, not just here.

  • Sabrina goes to Rome. <3

  • Amazing Track!

  • minha musica amei

  • This is another level of music.....14 years old....but sounds like in 2030! This is the higher top of madonna's music, it's imposible to reach this nirvana again...!!!.

  • Nice!!!!!! Love this song!

  • I think I'll follow my heart. It's a very good place to start.

  • I really like this album.

  • Drowned World performance of this is epic!

  • Did anyone else ever look at the blue jacket she's wearing in the album pictures and ever want to own that same kind of jacket, too?

  • @TheArizonaGurl OMG yeah!

  • who produced madonna best album? william orbit!!!!! Long life to good trance

  • @HighFlyingRaven r we talking about the same singer? i certainly do not think so

  • this is best song that she could permonce in drowned world tour, i must say all the tours i've seen that was the best song

  • amazing

  • @HighFlyingRaven that's not true maybe it failed in the US but worldwide and what's ur definition of miserable? because as far as know it didn't fail

  • @onikalove But it didn't even "fail" in the U.S.

  • This song takes me away! Lovely!

  • I love songs with a religous aspect. Madonna has a truly uniques voice.

  • <3

  • 1st and only madonna album I've ever bought. It's kill"n any album out right now in 2011

  • @SwitchBladesgirls so I did and I think like you

  • epic song. love to excercise with this song! RAY OF LIGHT best era !

  • Comment removed

  • @piercethruheartz yeah madonna said she took some phrases from poems, books, etc. so ....she paid for used em

  • absolute masterpiece, swan songs, every one on this musical tryp

  • masterpiece

  • was in sabrina goes to rome a good song great depth

  • fantastic song... :)

  • She showed us she can fly in the live performance of this song. XD

  • it's such a pity that madonna doesnt make songs like this anymore.

  • @sheislove1 I know. What happened? :(

  • @unconventional36 I guess she doesn't think that deep today. In 1998, (during this album) she was trying to see what is behind. But today she's just living her life with very young boys. I never expected Madonna to be like today's Madonna. Hard Candy was an epic fail.

  • @unconventional36 maybe she gave up trying to make a deep analysis of life and afterlife and she began to focus only on this temporary life with simple techno and dance music, like in the song 'celebration'

  • Ray of Light is a masterpiece. William Orbitz had a vision, and Madonna sang backup vocals. She was along for the ride.

  • fucking perfect!!!!! <3

  • amazing

  • "Life fits living so let you judgements go"

  • Really GREAT!!! INCREDIBLE !!!

  • F*cking amazing!!

    <3

  • Ray of Light

is her best alboum in my point of view

    love it

  • @MAHDYsayed i toally agree

  • One of her best songs... "I think I'll follow my heart - It's a very good place to start" really loved that part

  • I agree with mr Nolan, this album had more depth,it's a shame that people couldn't

appreciate the direcation she was going in as an artist

  • one of the best music albums in the last 20 years, why this album is so underrated?

  • she`s great

  • I don't know why people call anything on this album "pop". The only real pop song was maybe Ray of Light. 90s electronic, a piece of art... whatever you'd like to call it, but calling it "pop" diminishes it imo.

  • in no way a fan of pop music, but fu#k anyone who says this isn't one of the greatest albums ever recorded !!!

  • ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS EVER MADE IN THE WORLD PERIOD!!!

  • the best album

  • Should have been a single amazing song...Madonna does'nt HAVE to do anything people want her to do...if people say she is not to do it she will DO it but only more..Madonna revels on the fact people "don't" GET her

  • WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUHHHHHHHHHH !! g nial le triplé SKIN NOTHING REALLY' SKY FEATS HEAVEN

  • Why can't any of you people below spell vulgar?!?! It's not that difficult!

  • the best song!

  • vaisseaux spacials et abysses....YEAR!!

  • Pass that dutch hihihihi...

  • Yeah, i,m from holland.

    Don,t blame the dutch.

  • this song actually made me love her, her work. This one is so special

  • great album!!

  • I miss this Madonna, with this album i felled in love with her.

  • @seppex1980 LOLZ felled

  • She needs to get back with William Orbit, this was her best album.

  • @dengeist and do what? recreate the same album? madonna doesn't repeat history!

  • @TheIlluminatour

Well, see "Celebration" video and you will able to tell me that it's better if she recreate something like THIS! Now she's voulgar!!

I dont like repetitions,Madonna never does, but I think it's time that she looks at her soul and understand what disaster she's doing,'cuz her latest albums are the worst! :)

  • @Charliebangel Hard Candy sucked but confessions was best and Im sure she'll do good in 2011 with the next album again!

  • Tan actual y moderno como en su época. Genial. So up to date and modern as it was when it was published. Amazing.

  • Tan actual y moderno como en su época. Genial.

  • SUPERB.

  • my favorite albums are like a prayer, ray of light and confessions on a dance floor

  • Amazing!!

  • Sky Fits Heaven is my favorite Non-single track on Ray of Light - very beautiful, deep and so touching song. I can't say "Ray of Light" is my favorite album by Madge but definitely is one of her best records. Trip-Hop/Electronica sound was very right choice

  • MY FAVOURITE SONG OF ALL TIME!!!

  • ARG! Its not techno. Get your electronic categories right people! Techno has a whole different rhythm and doesn't move in this tempo. That's like saying Stravinsky is "classical" just because his music is orchestral. Come on general public, educate yourself on this stuff!!!

  • Her best album hands down. She was transcending into the Bjork arena and it was a very good sound for her. Wish she had evolved in that direction. But alas, unlike Bjork, Madonna is not classically trained and had to rely on others to make this sound for her. I think that's why she didn't move further with this. She honestly doesn't know how to. Its a much more sophisticated sound than what you hear in pop. Its electronic composition.

  • I'm not a Madonna Fan but this song is INCREDIBLE!!

    i love Techno pop music!

  • I own this CD! Bought it 1998 but it still feels modern like it was made yesterday.

  • breathtaking. the entire album is a ride i go on often.

  • @pixarian

Great analogy for the album. Its one of her best

  • LOL i remember this was in that Sabrina the Teenage Witch move "Sabrina Goes to Rome." I miss the '90s!!! '_'

  • I agree with MrJamesrnolan

  • I love this song

  • standing at my back door, listening to this,i wished for better, and yeah i moved, theres so many signs, still the signs are there,if you look, youll see

  • @ScrittiSparkle All the best for your new life ;)

  • SKY FITS HEAVEN is an awesome track, #1 song

  • I love it.

  • This song is so Beautiful. . . . . . Amazing

  • this song is plain out beautiful lol

  • This song is incredible in all regards, and it's from a landmark disc that showed she wasn't just a pop or dance music dolly. What really bugs me is that after she went into a more serious creative direction with this album, with each successive disc afterward, some critics and fans wanted her her to just go back to recording dance music without lyrical depth or chances taken, maybe because they just wanted to be entertained, which is okay for them, but some of us want a little more than just that.

  • @MrJamesrnolan i wanted both. :)

  • @slivasiul That's what free will is all about. Somebody once said "All good art is entertaining, but not all entertainment is good art." This is good art, good entertainment, and you can dance to it. 3 for 3!

  • After the ''Music'' album in 2000, the Madonna we all knew who dominated the 80s & 90s was gone and she started to get caught up in the industry's mediocre radio style of music when she released ''American Life'' in 2003.

  • @PopCulture20 The majority of negative criticism directed at "American Life" that I've read are not so much accusing it of mediocrity, but are proclamations of boredom at Madonna's serious self-analytical themes regarding herself and the world. If anything she is looking for a balance to please both herself and her fans. For every experimental track like "Isaac," there's a "5 Minutes" to placate the "Fuck art! Let's dance!" crowd. And "Celebration," though not a huge hit, proves she's not passe.

  • @MrJamesrnolan I see nothing wrong with an artist addressing epidemics because I have lots of songs on my I-pod that tackle serious subjects, however, if you're going to make a moral-themed album, at least give your fans a good tune to backup the lyrics because most people listen to music for a catchy tune.
