@Missusakli the vet takes a blood sample or something. For me it seems like alot of trouble and I personally don't know my lovebird's gender. I just pretend she's a girl, which she probably is because she likes to shred paper.
I talked to my vet about it. She told me to do a blood test and I said no because my bird was very sick that time and I really didn't want to stress her.
@Radebar Es gibts ein trick, du ignorierst ihn ein wenig, füttterst ihn und so weiter. Aber nicht mit ihm spieeln oder reden, irgendwann kommt er von alleine aus neugier ;)
als ich meine bekam war ich in der ersten klasse und jetzt bin ich in der 10. also ist meiner ungefähr 10 jahre alt.
einer ist durch ein missgeschick von meiner mom vor einiger zeit weggeflogen und nie wieder gekommen. wir haben kein partner mehr für den und außerdem ist der vogel schon ziemlich alt für einen "neuanfang"

Die sollten immer zu zweit gehalten werden, in Deutschland sogar Vorscrift.
Ich habe auch 2 - beschäftigt man sich mit den Tieren, dann werden auch diese Zahm.
Es ist aber recht schwer.

@N1c3ass4me The only way to figure out is to take a DNA test... either that or do any of them lay eggs?

I work at an avian vet clinic in ontaro and we had one of those come in yesterday with Scaly face mites poor thing looked dreadful!

Hallo,
das sind echte Wildvögel. Die werden niemals zahm. Nur Vögel aus Handaufzucht werden zahm, aber das ist nicht normal.

hey, ich finds ein wenig komisch, denn agaporniden müssen mit einem partner leben und nicht allein. woher hast du den und wieso ist der allein?
die lassen sich doch nur mit einem partner verkaufen.
