That is indeed not a bad flight simulator. Another good simulator, for professional use but also for personal use, is Pro Flight Simulator. Anybody heard of that? I am a pilot myself and I use it too, I absolutely love it! :D Costs some money, but it's definitely worth a check! The purpose in a simulator is subjective (varies from simulator to simulator). Some are designed to teach an instrument pilot to perform ILS approaches, some designed to train pilots working for a type rating, some (like this one) are broad, and designed simply to be an entertaining way to simulate flight.
