  • What a lovely dog. So calm. ♥

  • I wish there was a groomer in my area that had experience with chinese cresteds. Id love to have him groomed like that.

  • flatiron?!

  • To me it seems a little bit cruel washing the head with the shampoo in the eyes :-/

  • Chinese Crested's are beutyful, but i gotta say pating them is like pating a warm, newshaved pouch :P

  • how a beautiful dog

  • How often must you bath a hairless crested? since they require a lot of skin care i mean.

  • Hell yeah, after you wash that thing, you gotta creme it down with some gooooood lotion and then rub that shit in real good. You don't want your Chinese Crested drying out or looking ashy... HELL no. Rub that shit in gooood.

  • I use AXE Bodywash on my Chinese Crested, and he gets more pussy than any dog I know.

  • soooo much easier to groom than a powder puff, haha :D but hairless are well cute :) <3

  • We appreciate everyone's comments and there are a number of different methods to keep your little hairless crested in beautiful condition. At Pure Paws, we prefer to have the products PH balanced for a dog. Using alternative methods does not make them wrong, but we believe that we have certainly perfected the method of keeping the hairless CC in beautiful condtion for the 21st century :)

  • i have 2 cresteds, one powder puff one totally hairless, he has his good diet, and looks like a stud we call him the chipster, i wouldnt put my wee man through that, good grub, a raw egg occasionally and natural oils

    will post pic

  • thats a one handsome dog lol

  • Is this a show dog? The shine and volumizing products plus flat ironing seem a bit excessive for just a regular dog. I'm surprised all of those products don't irritate their skin.

  • @LaceHearts yes, that is a show procedure. However; these little guys do need their skin maintained like a lady's face to keep them in tip top care. Pure Paws has a wonderful skin treatment product kit, called Bare Essentials making the procedure so simply and offers fantastic results.

  • That's alot of product for a dog xD I just wash my dog with dog shampoo and conditioner o.o thats all..

  • @Nyuukamasuki

I wish my dogs would LET me give them a bath... Let alone flat iron their fur... But the dog that they showed is a show dog, so they kinda HAVE to have that kind a treatment.

  • wow thats like show dog ready right there!!

  • beautiful chinese crested you have their

  • That seems like a lot of effort that is unnecessary- my boy's hair looks naturally silky following a bath without the need for all of those products and without the need for the straightening. I will admit the socks look fuller though.

  • so cute!

  • @minttu88 He thinks so too!

  • What is the name of this song? I like it.

  • @nj754 wish I knew :)

  • I always wondered how their fur got so straight... now I know...lol. I've always wanted a Chinese Crested. Love the unique looks, am used to dogs who have special grooming needs, and love their temperament. Its good to know about their grooming, and that I would need to wait to shave the face. Nice video!

  • We have bathed lots of cresteds here and we didn't think it was like bathing old people as they are really easy and quick to bath :)

  • Its like bathing a really old person :D

  • we have two Chinese Crested one is hairless and the other has hair. They were given to us as the owner did not want them. Our hairless as far as grooming is concerned he jumps in the shower with me every day lol. I don't wash him everyday. He loves the shower for some reason. Our other one does not like to get a bath lol

  • the music/soundtrack is hilariously ridiculous!

  • Everything is Ok, but after bathing the dog, tou should not tie the dog's neck. It looks tight.

  • are you puting it in hhis eyes?

  • Does Chinese crest Bark? If they do what type of dogies don't make a sound ?

Staring to think are some doggies autistic ?

  • dingos dont bark

  • I'm autistic and that's downright ignorant.

  • @TheSweetloquita ok. after bathing the dog, You should not tie the dog's neck. It looks tight.

  • @TheSweetloquita Ofcause they bark :D

  • I love cresteds cause they look like little clydesdales.

  • great video thanks

  • thnx ( but wy so many bottles? i'm getting crazy i cant remember so many lol ) do you neeeet to put so many? or with one wash with a good shampoo is enough?

  • How many products are you using on this dog? I take my hairless dog to show and he looks better with no chemicals at all used on him, just proper food, and both his skin and hair are shinier. Maybe on a powder puff all this stuff would show, but on a true hairless or medium hairless it is a waste of money and time I think...

  • its just the dog. look at those socks and tell me there not flawless, lol

  • Well yes, but they should be after so many products, lol.

I would have rather seen the stuff demonstrated on a puff or a very hhl though!

  • I feel like this is a bit abusing to the dog, soap in the eyes , spraying in the eyes . Cutting all the hair etc but hell he gets a lot of attantion and love :) ,.. so that's a good thing .

    Peace and love

  • you arent cutting off all of the hair, they are a hairless breed, only grow tail on the cuffs, tail and head. and the soap they use is tearless as well as the gel spray, not doing any harm to the dog, no pain, not tears :)

  • Ooh good i didn't know thanks for pointing that out to me .

Still i think they get a lot of attention and thas good .

  • that is fucking ridiculous, its only going to go shit on your carpet after that. (Nice house over nice dog) {no such thing as nice dog} LMAO!!

  • I take offence to that!!! lol.

  • sorry lol. i stood in poop too many times :[ :p

  • yeah. mhmm, that is waht they all say >.>

  • man all I see when I watch this is the dog dancing to the song [=

  • Advertisting pure paws products lol...baby shampoo an baby oil duz the job fa my lot. at a fraction of price

  • all this for a fucking dog LOL

  • There is fucking soap in the dogs eyes... great job! :(

I never get soap in to my Chinese's eyes!

  • Hehe... I take about 10 minutes to wash and dry mine... he looks this good for at least 3 days, then he licks the feet and tail too much and it gets wiry... but it's certainly good enough for a show the day of or day after. I do not like to use lotions on his skin - it only gives him acne, and his skin is smooth and silky without it.

  • What a beautiful Chinese Crested!

  • ah so gorgeous. what a well behaved crested

  • I have 2 naturally hairless CCs and the female's skin is in horrible condition with blackheads. I can't seem to find a proper cleaner for her. Both of them have large whiteheads on their feet that are cyst-like. I bathe them once a week & do not use any oil-based products. Do you have any recommendations for clarifying the skin?

  • Hi

I have a hairless Chinese Crested

I have a question when do u shave off the hair on the faces my dog is one year old is it too early?

  • 12 months is fine to shave the face

  • Thanks

  • start as early as you can so they get used to it. If they don't like clippers being around their face it is hard to get a clean shave. I prefer using the little hand held cordless Wahl on my hairy hairless.

  • @yamilay98 we begin shaving at 4 weeks old to get them used tot he razor

  • NEVER anything containing LANOLIN.. EVER! I have 2, Rhedd, 19 years old and his daughter Marty, 8, both in perfect health. But I do have to dress them in long johns and parkas in the winter..LOL

  • who is this crested?

  • Thank for the video. I adopted a Chinese Crested from Animal Services less than a year ago. This was very helpful and informative. Hurley's going to be looking even more gorgeous than usual thanks to you. =)

  • I love chinese crested their so beautiful

  • im geting a chinese crested soon and im so excited

but the only thing is they get sunburn and i was wondering what they can use for that

  • Baby suncreen.

  • beautiful!

  • Thanks :-)

  • don't these dogs get cold easy cause they don't have that much hair

  • Probably :-)

  • ok, this very informative and a great "how to" video for grooming a crested.... but... the music, and pauses and .... just how this is done really truly cracks me up:) thank you. This song is just so epic for a little naked dog to be groomed to.

  • Thank you for your feedback! We are still working on the music part ..... lol :-)

  • Yes bathing is VERY important for hairless. They're dogs, they lay & sit on the ground & floors that has dirt no matter how clean it may look. The dirt gets in their pores & makes horrible blackheads, pimples & even cysts if they're not taken care of. When I got my male, his skin was coarse like sandpaper, now it's as smooth as satin.

  • I could not have put it any better myself :-)

  • My hairless keep sctratching himself even after bath and oiled. I use lotion to relieve sores also. Obvously I know he is allergic to wool. I've tried different washing powers on his coats and blankets. Im starting to think he does it instintively. Any other suggestions on why this might be?

Also anyone know why powerpuff starts this food dance where he licks are scratches the floor before eating then my hairless go's crazy doing it. It quite amusing to watch. But Im really interested as to why

  • There are a few reasons to why he maybe scratching. First, I would make sure he is eating a very high quality food. Sometimes their diet is the main reason. Food allergies are not uncommon. Second, make sure you are using product in your grooming program that are designed to take care of the "skin & coat"

I am not sure about the "food dance" but I am sure it would make a good video :-)

  • yea that would be common cause my hairless chinese crested cratches and licks and wipes his face on the floor after eating

  • No oils, it collects dirt more which causes clogged pores & more problems. Use a water based lotion.

  • Comment removed

  • doesnt she soap burn the dongs eyes?

  • The shampoo is balanced at a pH of 7 so this is very safe for the dog's eyes.

  • how much do ya gota put on the dog

  • The product is diluted 8 parts water to 1 part shampoo.

  • How do you get him to sit still like that?

  • He is just a natural :-)

  • Im going to bathe my dog right nowhe smells!!

  • What a beautiful Chinese Crested. I own three myself, but never went to that extent when bathing, however I don't show mine so I guess that's ok. :)

  • What a nice looking dog. He even seem to like it. especially that shower at 3.06 :)

  • What a sexy dog :-)

  • Were can I get the Ultra Silk Cream, I'm from Guadalajara, Mexico... I breed miniature xoloitzcuintles.

  • They don't have hair, so you don't have to buy the products. Love them as they are.

  • All dogs need to be bathed and groomed. Hygiene is an important part of keeping your dogs healthy!

  • I keep my nakeds bathed twice weekly and they are healthy. We just don't use hairspray and flat irons ;)

  • I love them as they are, but even hairless dogs need to be groom, specially show dogs like my xolos. Grooming is very important to keep dogs healthy...
