That said, what i never liked about JMJ, if i except the egotrip of the very guy, are the cheesy melodies. Like someone told him to never touch any other keys than white ones... Really space-agey

From the same period Kraftwerk were way more funny and ahead of their times.

Still, i like the overall sound of these early JMJ stuffs.

The only JMJ album i like almost entirely is Zoolook.

The first single(45 T)I bought in my life(at the age of 13 in 1976),was "oxygène IV" by Jean-Michel Jarre. I haven't regret it since ! In 1979,Equinoxe was the successor of Oxygène and also excellent ! Jean-Michel is the master!

The video may look dated, but look at it through fresh eyes. Technology was young then, and showing mixing desks out in the forest was unheard of in those days. The image Jean Michel wanted for this video, was to show that electronic music can have an organic and natural feel to it. He did just that. Not just well, but totally brilliantly.
