i was wondering my fish has the same kind a fins and is it because there still little or is it going to stay that way? message me if u know the awnser
I need to have one of my reletives buy me this for X-mas....Maybe it'll keep my tail biter from messing with his tail every time he get's pissed on fasting day...(My first CT and he rips his rays up at the sight of a female. -_-; )
I play with my betta all the time when im bored XD I bought a little tub, And I time him to see how fast he can go threw it... I bought threw the loop and he just sits there for 5 minutes.. than come out >_> He does it to make me mad..
this is pretty neat! he seems like a happy, healthy betta, and he learned some neat tricks! how'd you teach him to swim through those things? i've been trying to teach my betta, Cup, to swim through hoops, but he won't.
@Luimeril Thanks! the kit comes with a feeding wand and i fed him when he followed it around at first and eventually started using it with each trick. He knew the wand meant food, and so he would follow it around. Eventually he figured out that doing the tricks meant getting more food, so he did them when i would put them in the tank. A lot in common with training a dog.
@Iphonecause that's what this project was and it worked great. I just kept a log of all his training sessions and gave it to the professor. That way he could see his progress and the work it took to train him. I got an A!
Thank you for this video, I would like to train my betta but was not sure if the R2 Fish School Kit would be too... big for a betta :D How big is your tank? I would like to know if this kit would fit in my ten gal :D
@lioumichelle I'm not exactly sure. I don't have the kit anymore, i had to give it back to my professor. I used a pretty standard 5 gallon tank. To use the base, i would say you need at least a 5 gallon tank. A 10 gal would be better!
@BTomb actually Navin was pretty lazy... lol he was pretty passive for a beta. After i was done doing this project, i bought a few tetras to go in the same tank and he chased them for a few minutes and then left them alone. haha
I used the feeding wand they provide with the kit. I would only feed him from that, and he learned real quick to follow it around. lol. then you use that wand to teach him the tricks. uhm maybe after training him for a long time, im not sure if they can do that difficult of a trick.
@ZippyJJ7 i doubt it. i would say you would have a better chance getting a Comet Goldfish to jump out of the water, because theyre very active, and they wouldnt have as much trouble getting their big fins out of the water...
I would love to teach Omega some tricks, but he disapproves of everything unusual placed in his tank when I try. I gave him three marbles to play with. He disapproved of them so much, he buried them under his colorful rocks. Every time I attempt to get him to jump for his food, holding it about 1 cm above the water, he just flares his gills at me, somehow demanding I just give him the food and stop messing with him. XD Tricks are out of the question. Lovely work though!
how long did that take for it to learn...i trained my beta to feed from my hand, but in the night it jumped out of the tank and died,im going to get a new 1 and i want to train him,but how long does it take???
its not because of the cover, its because when i was at school,some1 changed the water, and the tank was covered, except a lil hole, the water was filled to high so it coud not get oxygen,so it jumped out
i was wondering my fish has the same kind a fins and is it because there still little or is it going to stay that way? message me if u know the awnser

ookkiibabii69 1 year ago
Ive used this kit also, the ideal tank for this kit is a ten gallon tank. if the tank is to large the fish can become ditracted. and great work!

@chiliandcandy you should be fine with a ten gallon tank. I had a 5 gallon and it barely fit in it. So a 10 should work great!
