  • loved it!! nice touch with the credits!

  • NYFA!.... [Sighs] :/ (Y)

  • "...and smoothed out their meat". Priceless script.

  • That guy looks like the guy in Synecdoche New York who follows Caden around

  • @XBOXMASTER123456 Is it?

  • no one in this nyfa make anything succesfull in hollywood

  • This is one hell of a location for a student film

  • Amazingly Done!

  • great film

    Love the surrealistic ambience.

  • How the hell can this film have 29 dislikes!!!!

It is like perfect in every way!

    I love it.

  • first i was like WTF then i was confused and then a understooded hahaha!!! pretty good film a little random but good!!!

  • Amazing. Lol at 5:28

  • Is this one of the projects you have to do?

  • Yes, it is the guy from Cash Cab. Funny thing is, I had seen this a hundred times and couldn't place the actor. Then, one day somebody else told me and I go, "Oh, yeah, that's who he is."

  • i think the best part of the video are the credits haha!! ehh maybe the music too! haha

  • Chris Parlow from The Wire?!

  • N-I-C-E! everything fit together beautifully and it had this sense where pointless details seemed very appropriate and interesting. I applaud you.

  • it has a richard kelly wierd-awkwardness vibe

  • Awesome video

  • Every time the said "meat" i laughed my ass off

  • MEAT

  • the card house moves as one peice at the very end i wouldnt of had the friends toutch the table it seems like too much movement around for the table / card house bond

  • All this Cash Cab talk is a little confusing cause there was ALSO a show started in 2008 called Cash Cab and it starred Adam Growe.

  • Tom Noonan is my hero!

  • damm and besides Ben Bailey(cash cab)....the black guy with the christmas hat is a Oscar Winning actor(from HBO's The Wire)..

  • but it's like u said, who wants to meet meat. haha

  • ya ben bailey ....or bob de niro ???

  • by far my favorite film to come from NYFA

  • HAHAHAHA who wants to meet meat. Well written dialogue, throughout, and intriguing concept. I love the origionality of the whole thing and the side plots with the "meats" and "meat-heads"..............wow even the credits are origional.

    Bravo

  • Did any i=of you guys go there?? I might be going for one of the camps this summer. I want to know how it is :)

  • @emiliopenazepedak WAIT! Yes they do have an actor camp! As far as times and dates I dont know, but it is as good as the director camp. Just google "New York Film Acadamy" and there is a link to the website. It should be along the lines of Actor camp

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, thats Ben Bailey, the host of Cash Cab

  • What was this shot on?

  • theres a ray bradbury short story very similar to this

  • props to Terry Bisson

  • @emiliopenazepedak They all have their own thing to provide, but I don't know too too much about each. All I know is NYFA has many courses to choose from, and without a doubt have what your looking for.

  • I love this film, and often come back for a viewing.

However, you really should credit the original author - Terry Bisson - for writing the story and dialogue!

  • @humanbraininrobotbod hmmm ok I just watched the credits. neeeeevvveeerrrr mind.

  • Lol this was absolutely hilarious..

  • "Since they do have meat heads" "The brain is made out of meat" lmao

  • LOL BENJAMIN BAILEY OF CASH CAB XD

  • liked it! the credits were top! i bet it took ages lol

  • OmG have you see the alien does the best moonwalk ever? in this film

  • Oh come on. That opening opening push in is sweet;-)

    Director

  • @Perrep89 eastoftheweb. com/short-stories/UBooks/TheyMade.shtml

  • There are just way too many memorable quotes in this. I love it!

  • Picture was really awesome.... But was there a point? Lol. Was really bizarre but I liked it nonetheless!! Great job, guys!

  • i was expecting the cash cab to pull up at some point

  • They're made out of meat

  • nice but is there a point ?

  • haha. there brains are made of meat

  • well done.

  • I always look at people to observe wierd behaviour, would love to actually see 2 aliens sitting their talking about us humans lol

  • I thought this one was called "Victory Diner"?

At least that's what it said on the site.

  • yeah it did say that

  • this is probably the best short film ive seen coming from nyfa

  • Directing not bad... dialogue...totally sucks! Kind of boring and definitely bizarre!

  • Is that the guy from Cash Cab?

  • @nodare023 same think I thought lol

  • @nodare023 Yup. Ben Bailey, also does some awesome standup.

  • @nodare023 Yup. Ben Bailey, also does some awesome standup. Heck, his name's even in the credits.

  • how DOES the meat-brain think??? xD

  • Why aren't the cigarettes lit? LOL Funny aliens.

  • Gives me a small hint of a feeling of watching the twilight-zone.

  • I'm planning on doing my master degree in there, but tell me is there any master degree there for visual effects I would really appreciate someone's answer.

  • the music choice was perfect! GREAT JOB

  • The music was composed especially for the film by a sax player called Bob Reynolds. He actually is in the film at the beginning and the end.

  • excellent work

i like the way they put the credits

    you guys are the best

the film was funny, and i like it

  • cash cab guy!

  • I love how they show Humans as unintelligent species compared to the ( stereotype based thought humans all have ) that aliens are smart if not another word for god

  • haha that was great!

  • Nicely done. I really liked how the human condition was portrayed for the main characters using only a minor number of extra roles.

  • i like the crazy look in his eyes!

  • Great Great!

  • SO GOOD.

  • I love the way you show the names in the end :)

  • I like it! Ben Bailey is from Cash Cab!!

  • he's also a pretty hilarious comedian!

  • well can anybody tell me that ....wht are the three top schools for broadcasting?

  • Just awesome. Strong Imagery.

  • Getting a Jon Hamm vide off the guy in the black suit--voice, delivery, and a physical resemblance as well. They could be brothers.

  • was it a commercial or comedy or meaningless comic book.

    remember the killer tomato's.

  • I think that is the Cash Cab dude!

  • Love your film. If you ever need aerial photography on a budget. We do aerial photography with RC helicopter. Check out SkyShutter com

  • Gbanga Akkinabe kicks ass.

  • I swear that's the Cash Cab dude.

  • Milkdudds92 yes thats the guy from cash cab! :D

  • oh my god that guy looks just like the guy who played steve zissou in life aquatic

  • Agreed, I've always seen film school as an expensive way to get a small headstart in a competetive industry.

  • Well done. Where's the feature length? I would love to see it.

  • wow that was wounderful what type of camera you used to shoot the movie with. and the special affects how was that done?

  • Wow! IMO very well done, specially the end credits!

  • Im going to the NYFa this October, and I must say, this is BY FAR the BEST short film to come from there that I have seen. absolutely brilliant directing, if this director is not getting work in Hollywood, there is no justice.

    Fantastic!! I really mean that

  • I want to attend the academy so badly, but coming up with the funds is so hard! I have a strong passion for acting and I've done some stage and theater. What suggestions do you have if any on attending?

  • This is Damn Amazing folks! U guys have a great future.

The music is really really really good.

This is DAmn good once again. I totally enjoyed.

    5 starz!!!!!!!

  • this concept is very interesting to think about

we are all just made of meat

  • `tis an adaptation of a short story...

  • Throughout the entire video, I was waiting for "welcome to the cash cab!" and then when to meat heads actually finish the card castle and slam the table, it just jumps all together and doesn't break cause its glued telling me that they tried to make one but got pissed off and said screw it. Pretty beastly video. Well worth wasting over seven minutes of my life.

  • I really do like this. I don't know why, dry humour generally isn't my style. But I guess I like obscure things. This is awesome =)

  • Interesting idea for a story. . .

Wasn't sure that I would like it

But then the girl that hits the window hahah

And the waitress throwing food at the cook, he is creepy funny and it works.

It's those little extra that really help to keep the audience watching.

You guys did super good and I hope you make more videos :)

  • HAHAHA BEN BAILEY!

    I LOVE CASH CAB!

  • nice film, thoe i don't like the end... Who did the sounding? That was the most impressive! Great job guys!

  • this is one of the MUCH better shorts ive seen coming out of NYFA. fantastic film. the lighting is phenomenal. did you have experience with film before going to NYFA?

  • this should win an award

  • dude this flick is great. Good directing, acting, light, atmosphere. The dark irony and akwardness surrunding the charachters is very admirable. Awsome film.

  • why does the word meat sound so funny? nice one, really well made, story was good as well.

  • I want to film school so bad but the only way is scholarship so I'm gonna do all the film i can.

  • How the hell did you get Tom Noonan to be in your film??? I know he has his own theater on East 4th Street.

Great directing and cinematography, editing and sound. Loved all the extra characters that really grounded the film in reality (the make out couple, etc.)

  • "Who wants to meet meat?"

Haha, a PETA 'Meet Your Meat'-reference?

  • Cool! Kinda was expecting a bit more of a punchline or something, but it was entertaining.

  • oh my god its ben bailey! XD

  • i was just waiting for the diner to light up and to hear "This is Cash Cab!". Ben Bailey's the man.

  • 3:00...HAHAHHAHAHA

  • Awesome ! I'm joining the New York Film Academy on January 31st, 2008. I'm 15 years old and just found out there's a 12 week saturday film program from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. You get to use a 16mm Arriflex-S during your first week. The 12 week program cost $1,000 but is worth every penny, I'm so excited!

  • DO YOU MEAN JAN 2009 OR 2008 ?

  • Sorry I made a typing mistake, it's January coming up in 2009 right after christmas

  • Did these idiot aliens fail to realize that the human being is a brutal cowardly monster, willing to go to any end to preserve it own life, and has not earned its right to live in the Universe. Apparently not!

  • is nyfa a good school? im thinking of maybe taking the film directing class.. and is it hard to get in, you know accepted??

  • What kinda camera did you guys use?

  • 6 out of 10.

  • Eh, it is kinda a bad school. Sorry.

  • Gbenga Akinnagbe, I see you.

  • Nice job. Doing short films like this well definitely get you noticed infront of producers and investors. NYFA's the shit!

  • I liked this one. Great sound, much better then some of the rest

  • that's the guy from "cash-cab." And the guy in the red suit is "cain" from robo cop 2.

I am really excited. I hope we can make stuff like this. But it will still be a lot of work.

  • Best NYFA film I ever seen really cool movie congrats

  • this is awesome! I espacially like the words

  • isnt that one guy from cash cab

  • Yes, that's him...

  • This is awesome work. I am strongly considering an 8 week NYFA intensive and this production only makes it seem like a better idea.

  • Good acting, great camera work, excellent script. The only criticism I could even find to give (ordinarily I wouldn't even be this picky) but I noticed that after the pyramid of cards was finished and they were giving high fives somebody bumped the table but the cards didn't fall.

  • this is rly good work!

  • very good

  • Is that Jeff Coffin from the flecktones on the sax?

  • This was really well done!

  • could be me but i really don't understand what the hell they're talking about.

  • the story is about aliens seeing us as food. like as if we were to find a race of people made out of cheese. its pretty brilliant.

we are, in fact, made of meat, and that might be gross to aliens that aren't.
