  • You guys did very well! I am hoping to get to my first schooling show before the snow flies....intro level for me and my 2 horses. Please keep putting videos up as I would like to watch you two progress. Have you shown 1st level yet?

  • Hi! Thank you! We have not shown 1st level yet, though my trainer and I have talked about it. ...Soon. :) I certainly will continue to post videos of our progress. I just got a new computer, so it's taking me a while to get organized! If you end up doing a show this season, post a video of it! I'd love to see!

  • Questions cause i wanna do one too

Should you be posting at the trot

at the part where you take a canter circle is it when you halfway to the rail (L or I) that you trot again

and my last question is how loose are your reins at the free walk

    thank you

  • Hi there! In the training level tests, you can ride the trot either sitting or posting. I just chose to post, so as to keep my horse's trot active. For the canter circles at B & E , you will transition back to a trot while still on the circle, between the centerline and B or E.

  • For the free walk, it is your option to ride with a loose rein (on the buckle) or a long rein (still having a little contact) as long as the walk is active, marching forward and straight, while relaxed, with horse stretching down. The judge also looks for clear transitions between the medium walk and free walk.

  • I chose a long rein with my horse, for the free walk, keeping a connection as he tends to "wander" off course a little with a completely loose rein. It also helps him with his confidence, as he's still young and not completely sure of himself yet.

Good luck! I hope this helps! :)

  • Thank you so much, i feel much better now knowing that, i cant wait to start really practicing, and by the way you did awesome :) once again thank you so much

  • You're very welcome! I'd love to hear how your progress goes! And thank you for the nice comment! :)
