  • Very smooth drumming. Looks like Bernard Purdie Jr. He's definitely got more chops than he lets on.

  • This guy reminds me of Jimmy Chamberlin

  • what model kit? what sizes? i want to get this kit

  • great to hear a gospel drummer that isn't playing ten million poly-rhythm fills around the kit like they're not listening to the music. this is incredibly tasteful and forward propelling at the same time!

  • hey, big guys can drum too! drum really good...this guys solid

  • Just Amazing!!! Jeff is amazing!!!! So proud of you my brother....One of the best drummers in the world!!! Go Jeff...I am also proud to say that he played for my group first when he was about 14...Much love Bro..

  • He orchestrates flams in Gospel drumming like no other...

  • I bought the drums Jeff Davis is playing at in this clip. Can't wait to bring this beauty home. I tested out this GMS SE kit side by side to a Spaun custom maple kit and Dw Collector Series kit. This kit blew both of those kits out of the water. Most people here comment on the amazing sound of the tom, but the kick drum was actually the best thing about the kit. I literally made Deedubs kick seem tiny.

  • Dont hate thats my cousin jeff lo

  • WOW, the drummer from Gorillaz is real!!!

  • The description is just "A"! That's hilarious.

  • that's the first time i'm hearing him! hey, jeff... you've got a new fan!

  • those toms sound amazing

  • Now this is what I call drumming!!

  • what model is this kit I may want to grab one.

  • @marfguy1987.....pretty sure he plays a GMS series kit....probably one of their higher end kits. You might check out their website to see if he's on there under the artist roster.

  • JEFF IS THE TRUTH ALWAYS HAS BEEN AND I LEARNED ALOT FROM HEARING HIM PLAY!!!!!

  • Jeff plays for my church.

  • come on jeffey workshop i might no would be hot if paid to watch a ol skool jam session

  • leff "lo" davis og status right here I feel sorry for folks who are sleeping on this cat

  • @dirkstonsommers Preach. Cat is yet a monster.

  • he was in total control

  • he was in total control

  • what model gms kit is this? anyone know?

  • Nicest drum ever! THe drummer is great too!

  • wow i did not know you could look lazy whilst playing drums lol

  • Yo phallystorm... u violated. But violate to hard on this virus playin the drums.

  • Somebody......Please throw this Man a Hamburger!!!!

  • not koo

  • For those of you who dont know who this is playing, Jeff Davis was influential in my playing as well as most of the drummers that started in church and went on to play r&b and hip hop etc i first saw and heard Jeff play with Richard Smallwood, do the resaerch b4 you start talking abt things you dont know. I'm sick of you lame cats that don't know any better! Get a life! Thank you!

  • @liljohnroberts7 brother dont even bother wasting your precious words to these idiots on youtube..everybody thinks they know it all when they come on youtube..keeping doing the great work u doing bro..God bless.

  • he's a good drummer he plays no passion

  • I want to know how exactly in detail he tunes his snare drum (Both heads) and also his toms. They sound great!

  • who wants to eat at the same place?

  • how many people do you meet that want to become fat

  • dude, shut the fuck up man, you're so fucking lame.

  • 2:42 sound like a dave weckl fill almost

    its tight.

  • why is he endoresed? he cool but not like that

  • Jeff is endorsed b/c pple love him. The whole idea is not for the company to endorse you but for you to endorse the company. They want someone to play their products so that they can get sales. For example idk what drummer you like but lets say tony royster. You see him use vic firth and pple be like o man those must be some great stix ima buy em. Jeff Davis been playin since before Kirk Franklin came out and pple love him cuz of his smooth pocket and full playin. When they see thaT they want em

  • Jeff Lo Davis' professional resume is about 25 + years long. He's a pioeneer. Nuff said. If you have to ask why a guy like Jeff has an endorsement, you have a lot to learn. Yes, there are many out there that may have amazing chops, but they not all working. This man has forgotten more than most of us know. He's almost everyone's mentor and he deserves respect. How can you look at 1clip and size up a career ?

  • What Albums Can i found his HOT!!!! stuff on then if thats the case? What Hot Artist has he hit with that i can reseach?

  • Off the top of my head, some of the early Hez. Walker, Smallwood, & James Hall. Recently, there was a couple Allen AME recordings. Reggie Young had a CD years ago with both Jeff and Nat Townsley on the same track. they were both trading over 4 and 7. That was a really good track that shows his playing, I wish I had it. My cd collection was stolen. I'll definitely hit you up when if I find them on itunes or something.More than happy to do so. But just for giggles, what ya consider as hot?

  • Spanky is dope. He has chops, he's original, but he grooves first.Chris Coleman is a monster, but he grooves first. Dennis, Weckl, Vinny they all groove first. A lot of he stuff you hear other gospel drummers play had been inspired by some of the things that Jeff , Gerald, Marvin, Dana Davis and others have done even if it was indirectly. They love the groove first . I saw Tony Royster and Jeff at the same recording and liked Jeff's feel better than Tony's that night. Tony is one of my favs.

  • what recording did jeff and tony play on?

  • I don't remember the name of the album but it was a praise and worship group out of the Greater Allen Cathedral. It was recorded maybe four years ago. I was there for the live recording. I walked in and was like, " this guy looks like Tony Royster" Then on the last song they introduced him and featured him. I think the song was ....Impossible. Melanie Daniels sang lead on it.

  • He played on Natalie Wilson and SOP. it's a song called "Free" check that out

  • Look up this album

Edwin Hawkins East Coast Regional Mass Choir

    He played the entire session.

I used to play for them and when Jeff did the recording it was simply hotness

  • I dont know who you are MBOOM.....But you hit the nail on the Head......it does seem that jomo7 DOES indeed have a LOT to learn about lending respect and earning it.....becuase you have flyiing licks does not mean you understand what it means to help create musical prosody......MY congratulations to your wisdom....

  • Well said. I remember hearing Jeff in 85 or 86 with Hezekiah Walker.

  • Can somebody tell me which cymbals he used in this video?

Sabian, but what series and inches?

he not using all his cymbals like given on the sabian site.

  • Great stuff, I like his drumming!

And his cymbals sound so good...

  • jeffffffffffffff Looooooo

  • Classic Richard Smallwood.

  • He should call himself Jeff "Smooth" Davis.

  • This dude is tight.Very musical.

  • i met him today...man!!!! he was workn on a beat

  • HIS TIMING IS PERFECT!!!! LOVE IT....

  • the one and only!!!! Jeff Davis!!! I've been waiting for some stuff from him to watch. thank you GMSDRUMSTV
