I liked the interviews in the middle, they were funny as f@ck. I grew up near where they lived in Birmingham in the 70's and early 80's, there was weed everywhere! Everyone was seeing fairies in boots then :p
god, i drove my dad mad when i learned to play this on guitar... i recall him pounding on my door and telling me to at least finish the song, because i'd play that opening solo a good 20 times just for the love of it!
who puts an INTERVIEW in the middle of a song? we finally have a chance to see SABBATH once again and the songs are ruined with interviews... somebody really fucked up...
uh dude relax the interviews are part of the dvd this came from "The Last Supper" on the dvd you can choose to have the interviews along with it as you watch or turn them off don't get the panties in a bunch...
@Scari45 thanks man, is that a new feature on the DVD??? is it an option they added later? I bought the DVD when it first came out and didn't see the option
Not sure if it was on first release or not just know it was on the dvd I bought a few years back. I liked the interviews since I got some info didn't know before when was done hearing the just watched it without the interviews.
Ozzy was a master at connecting with audience in his own special way , " Come on lets here your fucking hands now " That's the problem with today's music , can you imagine is the Jonas Brothers started with " come on lets here your fucking hands " , maybe that's what's lacking , that bond .
who makes an AWESOME concert video... and then sticks an interview in the middle of a song!! they should re-release this concert DVD WITHOUT interviews in middle of songs!
andyaaaaaaa? Why don't you try and speak clearly, so that some of us of can at least have a clue as to what you mean by your comment? Maybe Bill Ward wrote the songs, but according to my "albums" Ozzy wrote the songs. Doesn't matter who wrote them anyway, Ozzy rocks no matter who wrote the lyrics (that means the words in case you don't understand, asshole)!!!!!!
You are viewing Fairies Wear Boots lyrics written by Ozzy Osbourne.
I posted a question several months ago that Ozzy must have been trippin big time to write the lyrics to this song. Someone responded that Ozzy didn't write the lyrics, I just Googled it and it says that Ozzy wrote the lyrics. Guess it really doesn't matter, great song no matter who wrote it, have been listening to it for over 30+ years now!
in wath way im dumb ur fuking asshole fuk every one fuken know that bill ward wrote most of the fuken lyrics so you the fuken dumb ass that dont know his music
hey seriously go fuk youself u stupid fuk everyone know that geezer vutler ewa the main lyrics writer fukhead go learn about ur music n dont insult me shithead it fuken pisses me off when ppl atteck me for no reason bcuz they dont kno wut they r talking about........geezer butler was the main lyrics writer ints a fact every rteal sabbath fan know it go learn u music u fuken ASSHOLE N LEAVE ALONE
I'll add to that comment by saying that Tony Iommi's playing has ALWAYS gotten better over the years. Look at how far has soloing style has improved from his sloppy marathon on "Warning" to his shred-athon on "You Won't Change Me" and you can make out the progression crystal clear. LONG LIVE IOMMI!!!
It's beyond amazement that Bill Ward is even acknowledged. he is truly the most under rated drummer in history, but one of the greatest in the world. There is only room for 2 at the top, and they are Bill Ward and John Henry Bonham.
Totally agree with you MuddyJeepTJ. IMO opinion Bill has never fully gotten his due. His power is never acknowledged. He could really bangem and has great chops all the way around. Bill and Bonzo came up together and Bonzo's still my archetype favorite but Bill is right up there period bar none.
Nah!!! Sorry but Bonham sucks ass! He was always very sloppy and unorganized when he launched out into his slam and bang drum rolls. Bill Ward on the other hand is always spot on with his drum rolls and fills. Just listen to his "40 Second" drum solo on 'Rat Salad' and compare it to that pile of cow dung called 'Moby Dick.' Bill Ward can do more exciting things on the in 40 seconds than John Bonham could ever do in 20 goddamn minutes!
I love Bill Ward and as a drummer I idolize him but you can't say John Bonham sucked dude come on. Rat Salat was an amazing solo by Ward and Moby Dick was a great solo by Bonham. Both drummers were pioneers of their times. Both great drummers from amazing bands.
Sorry, but disagree with you. Bonham was the best drummer ever. Bill Ward is good and I love Black Sabbath (Ozzy), but then I only really pay attention to the song itself, whether it be the singer, guitar, drummer, etc. In Black Sabbath, I hear Ozzy. With Zep, I see Pagey, hear Robert's voice, and can see and hear Bonzo's drums. But then, to each his own, right?
Actually Geezer wrote it after an experience Ozzy had when stoned, when he came home and looked in his window and thought he saw faeries wearing boots dancing with dwarves. The lyrics pretty much tell you everything.
And to eskate01- NO! Iommi remains an incredible player. He has not lost his touch, and neither has Geezer, it's everyone around them who has. Ozzy can't sing anymore, Dio's gotten a bit worse, and Ward is too fucked up from the drinking to play right anymore but they still kick ass

Bill Ward has some injury / disease that affect his shoulders, thus he has to do a lot of pushups etc. to be able to play at Gigs.
I think it removes his muscles or something in his arms / Shoulders, and he has to build it up all the time.
Heard it in a interview with him, such a shame, he was with no doubt one of the best drummers ever.
