I would love to watch Love Hina, but I can't find it in Japanese, and the English dub is unbearable!

I don't have it in me to suffer the awfulness. I'll order the DVDs, one day.

I believe it suffered from the same issue many animes does nowadays. The anime caught up too quickly to the manga, and rather than wait for the manga to end they just did their own kind of ending for the show. Great examples are Fruits Basket, Ouran High School Host Club and Naruto. That's the reason no anime has so many fillers like Naruto does..

Sheesh, people, love hina is not a hentai for young people! It is a freaking awesome romantic comedy with an awesome plot. You guys make it sound like an excuse to watch hentai with a plot thrown in from out of the blue! I mean what the hell, that's not it at all. I mean of course there is the occasional partial nudity, but I mean, if you had it your way, so called "non-hentai", it would be like batman without violence.I would just like to say that love hina is awesome either way. @IronAceSUB Yeah, Love Hina does have a good story, but from what I have heard it is one of few exceptions when it comes to Harems or Ecchi animes/mangas. Certainly after reading the first volume it seemed excessive at first, but as I read on I was entertained.

Rather, ecchi is an adjective, meaning Sexy. Most often, an ecchi moment occurs in Shounen anime, such as Love Hina and Cowboy Bebop.

Such things include racy/skimpy clothing, exaggeration and increased detail of attractive ::Wink:: features and other such things which could be labelled "fan service".

However, it certainly is not what you believe it is. Gratuitous fanservice it may be, but not what you said.

A little fanservice does not make an anime hentai, correct.

However, ecchi anime, which contains lots of fanservice, to the extent that is the only reason they exist, is basically hentai for people who are not old enough to watch hentai.

I was just poking fun when I said it, and didn't mean to be taken so seriously. However, as much as you want to believe otherwise, excessive fanservice with little plot makes it hentai for people who are not old enough to watch hentai.

Of course, thats not to say I don't enjoy ecchi anime, and not saying Love Hina does not have any plot.

But to try and maintain there is a huge difference between a panty shot every five seconds and skimpy clothes and hentai pornography which somehow makes it more acceptable is just wrong.

Finally, if you wanted to watch some hentai but were not old enough to watch it, what is the next best thing? Oh yeah, ecchi anime.

Love Hina is well done, and actually has a story behind it, so it is more than just hentai for kids. However, if it was badly done or the story was cliche, that would ruin it for me. Fanservice is fun, but making an anime or manga for the sake of fanservice is just stupid (except dojinshi, perhaps) and you may as well watch hentai.

And from what I have heard, many similar animes fall into this trap

sadly, OVA's are usually hentai based and highly perverted as a last ditch effort for ratings and to squeeze all the profit out of the title as possible. Love Hina is a little different though. but i still dont like the last episode, it was too weird for me.

Yeah. I've pretty much gotten to reading and watching every scrap of Love Hina around. I even managed to get my hands on a rare Love Hina 0-14 disk.

It would have been fun to see the gang take a trip to Molmol, be chased by the cops, along with the other moments in the manga.

The only thing i hate about anime in the real world that they make no sence.. Good animes like hellsing school rumble and Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple always gat shitty fundings like hellsing got 13 and 5 ovas and kenichi and school rumble got like 50 and shitty animes like one pice bleach nauruto and dragon ball z hot fundings to thousands of episodes and all they ysed it for is long and boring talks about power levels and long and boring flashbacks.. I didnt really watch bleach - i found out about it when it aired on tv and i didnt knew you can watch online so i tred watching it on tv and it was already something like episode 130 and i just couldnt handle those flashbacks that would last entire episodes so i just quit watching it after i saw it happens alot and marked it -... I just dont know how can you guys can stand watching so much worthless material - they just stand and speak for ages.. just cant take it i need action!!

it has a really strong fan base and my sister likes it so I know the jist of what happens later. Personally, with my hectic lifestyle I don't have much time to watch TV or movies so when I do I want something that is either great in conent , quality over quantity. Avatar the Last Airbender was a good example, even though I grimaced at the whole "American anime" at first, the fast pace and character development along with the animation, was simply suburb. Bleach had to many talking heads.

actually, it was one of the best endings I've seen for a while. I mean, it was disappointing that it was over, but I've been on a streak of watching ones that ended really poorly. often leaving a lot of things hanging as if there's more, but there isn't.
