The failed gun blooper is from "The Sun Makers". It's included on the DVD. I have to ask though. Were any of these other outtakes/bloopers on the DVD's. I've seen all of the Tom Baker DVD's up to "The Stones Of Blood" and haven't seen some of these. Could someone list what stories these bloopers/outtakes are from? I really wish there was even more behind the scenes footage and bloopers on the DVD's.

@YourAverageJoeDavis As a diehard "Who" fan that has seen all the Doctor's and all the stories, there is zero doubt in my mind. Tom Baker was and will always be the best and definitive Doctor. It's primarily because Tom and the Doctor were one in the same. And no one has had all the great characteristics and personality quirks of Tom.

@Arthus850 Hmm I spose the stories arent any diff cos the new series did odes to most of the old story archetypes anyway it;s just the way they were realised thats changed but the new stories thanks to russell have virtually become love stories and the companions and even thier families become involved whereas with old Doc it was much simpler, companions didnt have much back story there was no romantic elelment and they were just there to ask questions on behalf of the audience and be pretty

@Arthus850 Sarah Jane Smith and Romana 1 say otherwise. They are arguably the closest to equaling the Doctor in status and were certainly more feminist than the companions in the RTD and Moffat era. It is modern Who that is simple and one-dimensional. It's merely a visual soap opera with CGI. Besides special effects(that can be forgiven because of the time period), classic Who had it all. I gave up on modern Who awhile back but of course I continue to watch and enjoy classic Who.

@Arthus850 Well, I certainly preferred Romana 1(Mary Tamm) over Leela and Romana 2 as characters that is. She was charming, intelligent, and had a much better attitude as her followup. And most fellow diehard Who fans I know prefer Classic Who much moreso as opposed to Modern Who. So, I feel that I'm in good company with people that know what they're talking about. You are entitled to your opinion though. I just recommend watching more of the classic series.

@Arthus850 Well, we have a difference of opinion when it comes to companions. Nothing wrong with that. I explained why Sarah Jane and Romana 1 were my faves. If you want to start watching Classic Who. Just watch the entire Tom Baker era and then go backwards with the first 4 doctors. After that you can check out Davison, Colin Baker, and McCoy. You want to start with the best doctors and strong stories first though.
