Whenever you panic about your weight, find a healthy way to let it go (yoga, journaling, deep breathing, music, art, etc.). Every time you take a bite of food, say to yourself, "This will make me stonger" or "This one will help heal my organs." Every morning, go in a mirror and say something you like about yourself. And the best advice I can give to you is to seek the Lord. I PROMISE you that if you ask Him to help you, He is alive and with you and will give you help. Stay strong. <3
Hi Rachel, I COMPLETELY understand what you are going through. Unfortunately, there is no "easy" way to deal with gaining weight. It's a long process that, I promise, will make you a stronger and better person in the end. But I do have a few tips that have helped me a lot: Make a list if the pros and cons of being underweight... the cons usually outweigh the pros. Do yoga. It helped me get in tune with the healthy side of my body and made me feel less antsy about not working out (continuing...)
Rachel you WILL recover! I know times may feel shitty atm but remember when you where at your lowest weight I bet that you still didnt think you where thin enough sick enough and your weight wasnt low enough and I bet you wanted to lose more and get lower your ED will ALWAYS want you to be lower it will NEVER be happy with you weight no matter what. I think your amazing and your doing a awesome job at kicking this! keep it up sweetheart your beautiful!
One of my teachers has been really helpful in my recovery because she's recovered from anorexia and bulimia herself. She says that the desire to control your weight and the dissatisfaction with your body may never go away but they'll become easier to deal with. But you have to take the moral high ground and force yourself to live healthily. Wear recovery with pride and never stop challenging the bad thoughts. As long as you stick at it, time will heal you. You're beautiful =] xx
Rachel, I am so proud of you for getting into a healthy weight range. You are making great progress, be sure to remind yourself that the weight you are at is normal and will help you to be able to be an awesome athlete once you are given approval to begin exercising again. You look so adorable in this video, you seem a bit more comfortable with yourself, so continue with the good work!
@buggycutie NEVER GIVE UP!! you can and will recover, I know you want to dance SOOO badly just as I want to run SOOO badly but you have to realize that what they are doing is best for you. Wait until next season and you'll see how much better you'll be! Trust me!! Right now just focus on recovery.
hi love:) i am curently in weight restoration and in Partial hospotailiztion. its soo hard gaining weight,i have gained bout 8 lbs and i want to do is go back to my small body but my heart didnt work in that body and now dance has been taken away from me. i cant dance any longer and i was on an interantional team. i was such a good dancer and im stuck, i want to dance but i need to gain like 10 more lbs.all iwant is to dance;but the season is already almost over and i just want to quit. Advice?
Thanks for your honesty. I think you voiced what every eating disordered girl feels after attaining weight restoration. For me, I knew I wouldn't be allowed to exercise if I was in my eating disorder and sick, so I focused on being healthy and making my body stronger through exercise. Feeling comfortable at a normal weight takes time, so give yourself the chance.
First off well done for being discharged :] I'm pretty much in the same boat as you at the moment, I was discharged at the end of December from inpatient and at what the professionals consider a healthy weight, to me I just feel so big and huge and wish that I could return to my underweight skinny size. I wish I could give you some advice on how to deal and cope with it but really there isn't any, you just have to remain strong and make sure you stay well enough to be out of hospital, that's al
