  • How I wish I could have been there, in the studio with these creative artists! Bless you Charlene, your family and Larry.

  • Cueeeeeeeeecccc... Caldera "Seraphim (Angel).....

  • What´s the name of the song on 1:43 (EWF or Larry Dunn Orchestra???)

  • @veightengine

Seraphim (Angel) By a Jazz Fusion band Caldera.

There's also Earth wind and fire version too you can listen to both in my channel.

Both versions written by Larry Dunn.

  • Man Why Can't The Band Just Play Again?

  • Larry you´re the best!. Thanks man for your music!

  • nice clip, but your video and audio don't match on the part where they were inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame. I can fix it for you.

  • THANKS! Man, I been wearin' out that Seraphim joint!!!!! GOOD GOD!!!!! That's a bad-ass song, much like the bad-ass that produced it, and the bad-ass mighty mighty EWF!!! The audio is out of sync with the video.

  • We Love you Larry!!!! Seraphim is still one of my favorites!!! from C. Stepney

  • @ckswright18

Many of you guys should have known that this version of seraphim is the caldera' version a band

that larry dunn help producing their albums and also have few song of his own performance!

Serach for Seraphim(Angel) - Caldera for the full song.

  • @ckswright18 ---nice thing to say but saying your Charles Stepney is in bad taste.

  • @cleopatrabonz Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was named after my father, Charles Stepney, who worked with Larry. Larry has been a Life Long family Firend. I'm Charlene

  • can you tell me where you got this piece? I have been wanting the entire Earth Wind and Fire Hall of Fame induction, and would love to have it......thanks L.

  • I know him personally! hes great, one of my really close friends uncle...

  • So the song playing at 1:44 is seraphim from fusion jazz band caldera which larry

    dunn help producing...Great song!

  • Why did Larry leave? What happened to Andrew Woolfolk?

  • @savida34e Maurice disbanded the group in 1983, so they all went their own ways. In 1987 when they came back. Fred White and Larry Dunn didnt return. Woolfolk came back and stayed until 1993.

  • @rockjohnson80 Maurice had the ability to choose the best talent!

  • @savida34e I think it wasn't Maurice but the others who chose not to come back. They were apart of EWF's best line up, so the invite was extended. They couldn't get any higher in terms of fame and success. I think they went on and did other things in music.

  • All I can say is Funchess, Thank You!

  • Larry Dunn is Earth.

    Phoenix Horns are Wind.

    Verdine White is Fire.

  • @Geeljasjes and Reese is the totality of it all, that's why even when I go and see them (and I do :) there is something special missing, it's the master himself Maurice White, EWF fan since 74, and have every album they have ever put out, so I know what I'm talking about...peace Lady L.

  • @Geeljasjes some of us would disagree Maurice White is Earth, Philip Bailey is Wind and Larry Dunn is fire......my opine..............

  • FROM 3:50 -4:20 larry dunn is a bbbbbbbbeast!!!!

  • Anyone know what tracks playing at 1:45

  • @jinsarangi Caldera- seraphim

  • @jinsarangi

Sounds like a alternate or prototype version of Seraphim.

One of the previously released tracks from Spirit album.

  • EWF FTW...

    Nuff said...

  • How nice it is to see them all together, every one of them. I wish they could still be together without hiring all those studio musicians to do live shows. I love seeing them all together why can't they be? I wonder.

  • larry the ''yoda''of the music.......... love to the world

  • It's just like with books - The more you know about the author, the deeper impression it makes. These guys are simply the best.

  • EWF seemed really tight from the start. You never hear of a "falling out" over creative differences from any of them and there were so many band members at that. And yet you hear of that from only two band members from different artists.

  • this group is SOOOOO good!! i love them SOOO much!!

  • what's the music playing in the background?

  • It's "Star" from EWF's "I Am" album.

  • are you talking about the instrumental piece that starts at 1:43? If so I wish I knew because I like it also, does anyone know if it was another artist or an unreleased track

  • Comment removed

  • The piece @ 1:43 is entitled Seraphim. It is on the Sky Island album by Caldera. There is another version of it. It was an unreleased track on Earth Wind and Fire's Spirit album.

  • From the Band - CALDERA

  • its by caldera the song is called "Seraphim"

  • prove it then

  • His speech from 2:58 and the rest: He must have had some problems with his father...but this is not of our business, right?

It's a pity guitarist Roland Bautista was absent that day ...

  • you couldn't post the entire induction of the group and what was said, Bummer :(

I have been looking for that too

    peace

  • The entire show is on here. I think it's called Profiles in Rock. Check it out.

  • thanks I'll look for it

    peace

  • What about the entire Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame segment with them? Is that on here somewhere or do you know someone with it?

  • I still love the group, but it is missess some important pieces, and they were a HUHE part of it, but Maurice is the heart and soul of the group, and even though I saw the group last year, I STILL missed him, he brings so much and can't be replaced...:( EWF fan forever

  • This piece is not about EWF the group as much as it is about Larry as an individual musician.

  • Yo, that was a funky keyboard medley by Larry. Those original brothers got a great vibe. They should come together to do an album. Phillip could do all the vocals.

  • Do you or anyone you know of have the full version of the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame 2000?

  • I have a question , I saw Luther Vandross on Saturday night live years back, and the keyboard player , was that Larry Dunn??

  • That was some sweet keyboard playing from larry dunn man very tastey

  • thanks so much for posting this!

  • i wish al mackay and larry dunn would get back with the rest of the band. they still could be a dominant band in the music industry. but only if all the original guys other than maurice white (due to parkinson's) would get back together.

  • YEAH YEAH!At the end of All about love is just capital! But Larry's work on See the Light was my favorite.

  • The keyboard run on "See The Light" is very nice ..I agree...

  • If you listen to "All About Love" at the end, he goes off! It's one of the greatest endings ever!!!

  • Do you mean hat interlude after All About Love?

  • larry Dunn is hot!!!

  • Does anybody know the name of the song that's playing in the video where they are showing Larry in the studio?

  • The name of the song is "Seraphim" from the jazz-fusion band "Caldera" ,that song was produced by larry dunn

  • I just get goosebumps from this guy! This was my FAVORITE group in the 70s! I hsve many a memory of their music playing at college parties! He was my biggest influence as a keyboard player back when I was in club bands.

  • Larry Dunn is the biggest influence on my keyboard playing. I even got his autograph back in 1982 when EWF came to London.

    Legend

    middle8productions

  • I love his keyboard technique. Next to Stevie Wonder, he's one of the best keyboardist in black music.

  • ewf in a class of their own

  • Larry Dunn might have been the most valuable player on that team full of most valuable players that was Earth Wind & Fire. His contribution was essential. He was in the background making it all happen.

  • WHOA! This video is a BIGGGG inspiration to what i do THANKS!!!!!

  • Larry Dunn's work with EWF is Revolutionary he was the brain child behind their arrangements.

  • Larry is an underrated genius. His songs were always the best ones on EWF albums. He made those analog synthesizers sound incredible.

  • I'm from Detroit, moved to Burbank, CA 22 years ago, have worked as 2nd engineer with Foster/Gatica at Lighthouse Studio in N.Hollywood on major releases. My name is ALSO Larry Dunn for 49 years the "other" Larry Dunn". Someone suggested that I was not very brite...LOL! I'm always been a BIG EWF fan!

  • And I agree...the Larry Dunn songs were the BEST. I get his union due bills in both Detroit & Burbank mixed up with mine. Larry Dunn has a GREAT website! Check it out...
