He tucked the ball to run and got VERY close to the line of scrimmage which would have made him just as vulnerable to hits like any other ball carrier. As a rule of thumb, if the guy has enough time to bring his arm down after making the throw, it's going to be called for a late hit. Harrison had more then enough time to pull up.

And since you didn't know that, I'll help you with something else. You can stand straight up and lead with your head. The only difference is you're not ideally charging into the player. He tucked the ball to run and got VERY close to the line of scrimmage which would have made him just as vulnerable to hits like any other ball carrier. The throw and the hit can instantaneous to one another, not allowing Colt to brace himself for the hit. I agree, he should have kept his head up.

There are many ways to tackle and stuff a guy, jar the ball loose, but to lead with your helmet to the other guys face straight on is intended as a knockout hit, plain and simple. And that typically means concussion. That's swelling of the brain, people. That's dirty football. They should suspend anyone who does, deliberately, it without pay for the remainder of the season.
