you use the pinky only when you cannot reach the note with other fingers. you should try to play this solo WITH pinky at all of it. and that harmonic sound is by the whammy bar. like that!

you can just play harmonics on the fret board with your finger over the metal fret, lightly touching the strings. it's hard.
