Carnival Conquest Cruise March 2007 First Day Galveston

My wife and I leave on November 29th on the Conquest. We just upgraded to Spa deck 1101. They told me it was a balcony room. We're so excited I actually upgraded it as my anniversary gift to her. Can't wait 3 more weeks!!!

I so hope you have a wonderful time. How nice of you to upgrade for your anniversary. Obviously, by looking at my photos, it was not a balcony when we sailed...but we enjoyed those floor to ceiling windows.

Hope you will post a video with lots of pics and come back here and let me know. Would love to see the remodel.

Be sure to order early coffee or room service "pre" breakfast to enjoy on your balcony!

me and my husband where thinking about going on this ship. we are thinking about taking the 7 day cruise to cozumel, mexico; the caymen islands; and jamaica. that is where yall went and if you whould recomend.

Yes, that is the itinerary on this cruise. We really loved the cruise!

That is the same itinerary that we took. We enjoyed out trip. The only thing we would most likely do differently is not take the shopping excursion at Jamaica...it was not enjoyable AT ALL! They squeezed us all in like sardines into a mini van and then took us to places that the shop owners were extremely intimidating.

Be sure to eat sushi at the sushi bar and to visit the fish and chips bar at the upper aft dining area. Can't remember the name of it.

I've never been on a cruise. It would be nice to see what it's like, picture wise, of the different views. I did take a small local cruise around the US virgin islands, but just for a few hours. Sounds like you all liked it!

Wow-the Virgin Islands-how wonderful. We have been wanting to take another cruise, but just haven't been able to find the right one at the right price. Soooooon! I keep telling myself!

we had room 1106 spa deck in 07... in may 2009 we will have some room on lobby deck i think

those cabins have been redone durig ship's refit. All those cabins are now balcony rooms

Looking at the photos of Galveston make me sad. Strand street may never be the same after Ike.

I work out of the Port of Galveston and some, well a lot, still don't even have telephone. And as far as last time I was around the Strand.... nothing was going on but people working on cleaning up and rebuilding. I really think people on Bolivar Peninsula got it worse though.

I think I remember one family talking about it on the cruise...but since none of us smoke, I am afraid we didn't pay much attention. Maybe someone else can chime in here.

Yes, there is a cigar bar on The Conquest. Had one there myself.

The views were spectacular.The stewards shut our blinds at night,but we liked to sleep with them open.We learned to hard way that there's no privacy while in port. We awoke to men working outside our window more than once. Strange feeling to awake to a man standing within feet of my our bed. We walked out of the bathroom once (half dressed) to find a man standing outside the window. I think it was embarrassing for both of us.

Yes they were.I think you can see some of the views of Galveston in this video. Due to tech difficulties, some of my photos were lost and I have not posted to the remainder of this trip. We did not enjoy Jamaica as much as we did the other ports, but it was still a memorable trip.

Im going on the Conques in Aug. in rooms 1107, and rom 1109, were the rooms nice? and how many ppl. did they sleep? we're doing 2 ppl. in one room, and 3 in the other! Cant wait!

Thanks for your comment. When we originally booked this room, we were very curious as to what it would look like. Someone sent us to a photo on another site and it gave us a general idea, so we thought this might be a great way of passing on the info. We will be traveling on the Ecstasy at the end of August and hope to post something when we return. Thanks again!
