Kodak zi8: continous power info

Does anyone know the vfov and hfov with the original lens for the zi8 ?

Will disabling the indicator light give me more recording time...I have fancied the idea of a 5v dc battery pack to plug in from the side and velcro to the tripod for the long shows.

I normally put a piece of electrical tape over the indicator light so I can be a bit more stealth and blend in with the others in the crowd recording with phones and such.

@deadendkid1968 great idea; as the indicator is still drawing ofthe circuitry, I use like mention a battery pack, and I like the one of Kodak, but not going to spend a ton of dough. So I use a usb recharger 4aa

Hi. Thank for your vids. It take me to buy a ZI8.

I have a question. I have a 16GB card. But i can only record 10 minuts of video in 1080 or 720/60fts. Is that normal?

I know i steel have memory free on the card, and i can record video in 720/30 or wmv. But i cant record in 1080 or 720/60.

Is that normal or my cam or card have a problem?

Interesting debate - this would lead one to suppose that an external battery pack of the same voltage etc but longer running than the on board battery could be obtained for "in the field" use therefor not interupting the video to change internal batteries......very interesting.

I'm using an 8gb sdcard with power cord.

as it does not matter what you use. the cam is set up in hd1080p running a battery test. 16 gb, i ran my test and felt to end it as 1 hr 10 minutes i am near thesame time of 1 hr 20 min with the settings ALL OFF brightness low, thus changing to Med. i was able to plug in a ac cord, for uninterrupted use. Some cams will stop, some will continue, thank you Kodak.

It sure is, Imagine you're out on a vacation and you panic , oh man my shot, what am I gonna do. just plug it in , plug it in. the percentage should be in nubers 99,98,97, etc, etc. or the last 20 %
