how do you get the hair to lock?

@LEFTxFOOTxFORWARD Locking depends on the texture of your hair...very curly hair will lock faster just by washing it regularly. A quick way of locking is to use a interlocking tool or braid the hair. Straight hair needs special manipulation to lock.

@lilvon10 Haven't heard the term comb twist but sounds like it's the same.

@lilvon10 No, they aren't. Twists are when you take two strands of hair and intertwine them together. Like when little girls have ponytails with barettes on the end or like a braid without the 3rd piece of hair.

@lilvon10 His hair texture is very tightly curled (nappy) & was coiled on clean damp hair. Without the gel I had to redo them once a week.

i have comb coils that i got done last night but my hair is straight. i used the gel but is my hair suppose to stay hard forever as i have them. i put on a du-rag so they are laying down right now

@lilvon10 Results depend on your hair texture & product used. Comb coils don't last long but if you use the du-rag each night they'll keep longer. I didn't use a gel but sounds like a strong one was used to keep your coils in place. After awhile you will have to wash it out especially if it flakes =(

@ahsenerb27 There are several vids on comb coil how to's. There is a special comb that you can use just for this. Depending on how long his hair is you can get away with just a small toothed comb to coil the hair. Good luck!
