I've figured out how this works and I've been using the same strategy a LOT for knifing recently. Enemies want to be in front of you, so they will move to the front and right before attacking you. It's very handy in tight spaces. That's also how the stupid zealots trick works (backing up in circles and having them swing at you and try to grab you).
The same kind of glitch appears in WW, when we prepare the first chest : when we climb the ladder and go next to the chest, if we look the ganados below, they are trapped behind the red barrel. :)
It works for sure. I don't know about NTSC, but on Pal/Jpn/Wii it works 90% of times. Sometimes a ganado comes from the steel ladder and isn't trapped in the glitch zone. So just let him hit you, then use a flashbang.

Wow, that looks so easy to prepare the 2nd chest. Nice find! Maybe I can try it on my Wii version. :)

Nice find! Glitches like this are awesome. ^_^
And is that Dave Brubeck? It sounds like it.

I don't know, but the title is "Bach à la jazz", a song from the french animation movie "Les Triplettes de Belleville".
It's a great adaptation, isn't it ? :D

Okay, so THAT'S where I heard it. I thought it sounded familiar.
