  • ahaha i always pee on that train :)

  • I just learned that I could take Metrolink from San Diego to LA and skip the traffic in getting to the hllwood bowl! Thanks semi-useful info! ;D

  • @WowOmgStudios - Fantastic! Enjoy the ride and the concert! :-)

  • @trollinda

    Reggae Night X was like Hemp-con 2011 =T

  • still don't beat the moscow metro by a long shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • but i think the run into ucla has no traffic on the freeway, i rode my redline there with that scott dude on the handle bars eating a pie roll, there is bugger all traffic in cali full stop, i dont even think the roads are that wide here yet, head to a place called elizabeth rd if you want to see traffic, but you might see my funky green rag top savile!!

  • I hope the Purple Line gets extended to the beach or at least to UCLA. Too much traffic on Wilshire Blvd.

  • Whoever says L.A. doesn't need a subway is an idiot and odviously doesn't spend anytime in the most populated areas of the city. The price is nothing compared to the long term benifits that will have for future generations.

  • Yep. I agree.

  • I live in OC and never take the subway when I visit LA. I am the only one that thinks a subway in earthquake country is a bad fucking idea? They should have built an elevated train like Chicago.

  • They build the subways to match 7.5 to 8.0 earthquakes. Not many earthquakes have reached that size. Also, it's safer than 30 feet on elevated rail.

  • Th3UnionFor3v3r -

Yep. I agree. I always get a bit nervous on the gold line waaaay up there going through China Town area. Great view, though! :-)

  • Yep. Me too. No need to deal with L.A./Hollywood traffic.

As far as earthquakes and subways, from what I've read, subway tunnels are one of the safest places to be during a big quake as the higher up you are (the surface) the more shaking you're going to get (think skyscrapers upper verses lower floors).

  • go back to newport beach !!!! lol im just trying to start a youtube fight with you! i enjoy the red line it kicks ass!

  • im going to LA soon do you recommend taking the metro?

  • spotless Train My Ass That Fucking Train and Elevator Smells Lke Ass

  • LOL...yeah, I wouldn't really call it "spotless", either but maybe "spotless" isn't as "spotless" as non-subway things?

Maybe compaired to other subway systems it's "spotless"? I think I know of what smell you refer. Maybe ttime for the MTA to break out some air freshner, huh?

  • Advanced for it's day but now Subways/LRT's systems in Asia(tokyo, hong kong, ect) are more advanced with features like platform edge doors.

  • Holy crap! It's Danny frigging Dark!

  • The only subway in the world that runs 24/7 is in New York, so I am not going to hold my breath for that.

But it would be nice. I don't think there's money for it.

This clip is from at least 10 years ago, so it shows some things that are no longer in existance, like old paint schemes on the train cars, old maps, and the entrance plaza to the Vermont/Wilshire station, which doesn't exist anymore since an apartment building was placed there.

  • Looks like we'll get the airport and subway to the sea lines with prop M passing! :-)

  • There are more that run 24/7, it's just that the MTA in New York is the only one that falls in the top 10 category.

  • the l.a. subway is good so far but they definitely need to expand and run 24/7

  • Yeah so does D.C we get 800,000 daily but it will never happen.

  • Very cool!

I hope it does expand the red line!
